- ROWLVOK folks this number is a legit B of A phone number. Just accept the fact that the number is legit. Now of course any number can be spoofed so if they are calling regarding extending a car warranty, then of course it is not B of A. Their number but not them. No need to make a fool of yourself over this, it is not rocket science.

- Nicany replies to YossiNo it isn't. They never heard of it. Maybe you're a part of it all?
- EricAppears to be fraudulent. The message was an automated one claiming to be from Bank of America that had my name right. But the "last 4 digits" they gave me were from the card the *real* BoA had reissued a week and a half previous because it had been involved in a data breech. They also called me on a *different number* than is associated with my card.

- BenI got a call from this number and I did not answer. A real person left a message telling me about a unusual purchase on my B of A credit card. As I was listening to this message, he called me on my other phone number. I picked up the call this time. He knew my name and last for digits of the cc. He identified himself as a B of A employee and their system identified a suspicious purchase on my credit card. After I told him, I did not make that purchase, he cancelled my credit card and started the process to send me a replacement card. He also opened up a case to refund me for the false purchase. I checked my B of A account online and everything he said was verified on my account. So, this is a valid B of A phone number. Unfortunately, scammers have been spoofing this number.

- MegReceived a call from this number, identified by Caller ID as "800 Service," this morning, with no message left. Since I've had a number of scammers call with this identifier, I did not answer, but checked here to see if the number could be verified. Seeing the reports linking the number to Bank of America, I checked my accounts and found that someone had indeed attempted two fraudulent purchases in the past 24 hours. I called B of A via the number on the back of my card and they cancelled the charges and opened a fraud investigation. Who knows whether calling the 800 Service number would have taken me to B of A or to the fraudsters, but since no message was left during the call I am inclined to think that it was the latter. Always best to call the company directly using the number they provide.

- Anonymous replies to SteveThis is not legit because I call back and it is always busy. I called BofA 800 number and it is legit. Use this please. 800-421-2110
- JackIf you had trouble with your BOA card, you get an email from BOA but if someone else was monitoring your email and seen the problem too, the scammer can spoof a BOA number and make it look like a legit call. The best thing to do is call the number on the back of the card.

- AlexBe careful! They called me and asked my Driver Licence number and my BoA online ID. My cousin works in BoA for 3 years and he told me BoA representatives never ask for sensitive information like online ID or Driver Licence number. It was totally scam!

- Frank Russell| 1 replyYou people are crazy or delusional or both. This is a valid number for BOA. They called me from 844-585-0488 and left message. I returned call by using number on back of my card and they confirmed that it was them who left the message. It's like Flat Earthers around here sometimes. :)

- Sheldon| 1 replyThis is a legit number for the BofA fraud department which verified me directly through the official BofA app. I provided zero identifying information in order for them to send a new card and start a fraud investigation. That said, I would always recommend caution when receiving a call claiming to be a bank or asking for any identifying information.
The first thing I usually do when a "bank" calls is hang up and find a number on their website to call. However, earlier in the day I had already received a text message from BofA and logged into their app and website to see that fraudulent charges had been attempted (and declined) on my account. Later that day, I received a call from this number. Already knowing the fraudulent charges were true, I listened to the automated scripting.
The automated system sent a verification of identity request directly to my official BofA app (not a text message). It was just a simple verify button in the app. After verifying in the app, I was not asked for any identifying information on the call as I completed the call with a live agent. The agent read off my last six transactions to me to simply ask whether I made them or not. They then verified my address to me for the purpose of expediting my replacement card for auto-billing purposes.- Caller: Bank of America Fraud Department
