I was suspicious of this number as well, so I called the one listed on the back of my card. Glad I did. $2000 in charges racked up on my card in the last two days that are not mine. Don't wait- just call your credit card company to be safe.

This is NOT a fraudulent number. This is Chase Bank's anti-fraud department. They call when suspicious charges are attempted. Someone from Spain just attempted to charge on my card. (I visited there in 2008.)
The person who called did not ask me for any information other than my name and whether I had made the charges that seemed suspicious. Furthermore she was able to cite charges to the penny that I had made the same day (Amazon for a movie, $1.99).
If this mumber is reported falsely as a scam, people who need to be reached may not pick up and the fraud may occur. (I'm wondering if some scammers submit such reports to disarm their victims in this way.)

Received call from this number 4 times in a row on 3/4/10 between 8:15-9:00am.  Caller never left a message -I picked up a few times and simply got a 'beep' then I hung up.

Chase bank fraud prevention, your card is may be turned off which is why they are calling (mine was).  You can call the number on your card.

This is a phony "chase usa" number. Scam!

Chase USA shows up on my caller ID. Coincidentally, the wife receives a call from someone at Chase BANK and was verified by telephone to be from Chase BANK and not Chase USA. This is awful strange. The woman at Chase Bank verifies that they are from the fraud unit at Chase Bank USA and that there was an attempt on a credit card that has not been used for well over a year.
My call from 847-488-6000 shows up as Chase USA, which I look up on the internet.
The next interesting tidbit is that I do not have a Chase Bank Card.. so figure that one out!

They called but I did not answer, it shows as no name and the number.  If it is Chase it is fraud because I do not have a Chase account.

Chase executive customer service

This is Chase Fraud Detector number. They didn't ask for my personal information and just wanted to confirm a few activities that I actually did the previous day. When I told them yes the activities were mine, everything is OK then. They knew exactly where my credit card was declined without me giving a single information.

These are not impoisters. Spoke to Chase using number on the back of my card. They said the number is LEGIT. Boom

This number is legit. They caught fraudulent activity on my card, I called my the number on my card after reading this message board but it all totally checked out and they found someone spending $800+ on my card over the last couple of days, I am very thankful to Chase for this! I think they just outsource the calling to a company in Chicago, maybe?

This number is legitimate.  They left me a voicemail message to call their fraud department.  I did, and sure enough there were two fraudulent charges attempted on my card.  Don't be afraid of this number.

I though this was fraud at first. Then I called the number on the back of my credit card and found out this was real and there was some fraud on my account. They cancelled my card and issued me new ones.

Chase, calling about an unusual charge on my government travel card.

I called the bank directly today and sure enough there was an unauthorized attempt made for a purchase in a foreign country.

They stopped the card and are issuing a new number.
