- JosephineI have been also getting calls from various numbers with people wanting me to "verify" my personal information. I refuse and end the call. I have also gotten calls from numbers whow leave a message on my home phone machine and the voice is an automated lady who sounds like she is from the UK. She asks for me to call her back, but she does not mention my name, a company name nor the reason for her call. I have not to my knowledge received any calls from the number that you all are getting calls from. I did not write down any of the numbers I did receive calls from. From now on I will write them down before deleting them off of my caller ID. [BTW, I accidentally stumbled across this website while researching something else.]
People are saying that the area code of this number you guys are getting calls from is 850. Now I use VONAGE and with Vonage the customer is allowed to CHOOSE their area code. You do not have to be in the city/state whose area code you are claiming to live under. You can choose ANY area code you wish. This is a good deal for scammers and crooks. I thought this may be valuable information and explain some of the out of state numbers for some of you. - KarenD.I just filed an online complaint with the FCC about these freaks. Hope this stops.
- Caller: not given
- AndyThey fake their outgoing phone number picked up by caller ID. They are scam artists, and probably are outside the US. They are untouchable. Don't give them any information; instead, sucker them into spending time with you on the phone. Time is money.
- Caller: unknown
- Call type: Telemarketer
- FrankMissed a call yesterday. Something about reducing my credit card debt. I guess they got sick of trying to sell fake car warranties. Ugh.

- shuggybearOn 07/07/08 at 7:13 pm I received a call from Pensacola, FL 850-473-1275. A recording rattled off something and then a live operator came on asking me for my name and number. When I asked for the name of the company, she asked for my name and number again. I asked who was calling and she hung up. I called the number back and a very nice older lady answered. I told her what had happened and she said that was about the 20th call she had received. She said her phone company said there was nothing they could do. I advised her to call her local police department and I told her I would report it to my phone company.
- meI was home and picked up the phone when this call came in as "Pensacola, FL". There was a message that this was the final notice to take advantage of a lower interest rate as today was the finaly day. The message said to press 1 to lower your interest rate and 2 to discontinue the offer.
I pressed 1 and eventually a man came on the line and, without saying who he represented other than "Financial Service" asked to verify my personal information. I told him that I would not give him any information until he could provide me with sufficient information to verify that he really was someone from a reputable company that did indeed have a line of my credit.
Instead, he went into a spiel that they were connected with 500 credit companies, but he gave me no specific information. I again told him that I would not give him any information until he could give me something specific in order to verify that his company really did have anything to do with any of my accounts.
Instead of providing the information, he became belligerent and assailed me for cutting him off. Since I had asked him three times for the specific information that would allow me to verify that he was legitimate and he had failed to provide that information, I hung up on him in the middle of his rantings.
I will report this to the Do Not Call Registry as a complaint.- Caller: "Financial Services"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- RGCalled but hung up before I could answer. Tried to call back and the "number is no longer in service." A scam for sure.

- Sal replies to SteveI have had a few problems where I sought the help of the FCC. It appears that there isn't anything that they can do anything about. If you are lucky, they may send you a pamphlet on what YOU can do to correct YOUR problem.

- TMPeople getting these calls who want to help put a stop to them should go to the web site www.heatherwitaccountservices.com to get the info on the real identities of the criminals behind this scam and the agencies to report them to using this info. Reporting them using the fake names they give out (Card Services, Financial Services, etc.) or the fake phone numbers that they illegally cause to show up on your Caller ID does little good.
