- MorsoksCaller from 850-473-1276 said he could lower the interest on my current account. When I inquired "what account" he asked for my credit card account numbers andsaid that he could compare my current interest rates to the low interest rate that they offered He lost interest in me when I refused to give him my account information. But when I asked him questions about how he got my number, or what company he was with, or where he was calling from...........he hung up on me.
- nevermind replies to ChristopherThis number comes up on my caller id with the name seay, tara c.
- Kate MoxieAnswered call from this number on 9/3. It was a recording offering to lower my credit card interest rate. Same scam that has called from other "not in service" numbers. I am really tired of this - why does this unidentified company continue to ignore the do-no-call registry? Why can't the FCC stop them? How is it that they can continue to use not-in-service phone numbers?

- whiskerladyFolks, this is what to do. Don't waste your cell minutes, but if on a land line, act as dumb and innocent as possible. Talk to them as long as you can to waste their time, because time is money. If you ask about their company or say the wrong thing, they will hang up on you immediately. Only use made-up information - do not give them your real information.

- Paula N.| 1 replyHad this number 1-850-473-1276 on my received calls list. Tried to call it back, it's disconnected. SURPRISE! (insert sarcasm here) I will note that FCC number and call them. I've had a spate of these annoying phone calls from numbers that are no longer in service and I am MAD about it!
- Etoiles replies to Paula N.As many other people I also have gotten numerous calls from these little devils. I finally pressed 1 because 2 was obviously not working to be taken off their list. When I pressed 1 I got disconnected immediately and they called back at a new number. (678-741-5400) and asked for the last four digits of my social security #!!!! When I refused and said what I really wanted was to be taken off the list they hung up.
I'm sorry to hear that their numbers are fake because I really felt like calling them back. - SusieTired of these type calls. What is the sense of a DNC registry?
- Lauren replies to deb| 1 replyI get most stupid award. I gave the first guy (Brian Johnson, "Brian with an I" he said) my address, phone numbers, last four of social, total debt and information on two accounts(now canceled). He mentioned the devastating hurricane in our area. I listened to the whole thing, all the way to the point when he (Arnold Peters) said I was going to save $2,500 in one year after they charged my card $895. When he asked if that made sense, I said no, and that I though it was a scam and I was going to call the BBB. Then he starts saying that the BBB was started by Al Capone in the something hundreds and on and on like a history professor. Before he hung up on me he said that since he was a scam artist he was going to take the $895 and that I better hurry and call my credit card companies. He said "Hurry Lauren, hurry Lauren." Just what I needed after a hurricane. They sounded so nice, and getting recognized with lower interest because of my good payment history was just what I wanted to hear, I guess. I'm dumb.
- Scammer AbuserI think everyone has the wrong idea of how to handle these scammers. If everyone would give these scammers fake information, they'd probably give up. There's a site called fake name generator that you can use to generate pretty much all the credentials that they ask for.
The call I got I did this to them. They called offering me lower interest rates on my cards. The lady gladly took my name, city, state, zip, CC# and the customer service number of my CC (All fake!). They actually try to verify you have a CC in good standing and that you aren't behind on payments (I assume they want to abuse it and want to verify they can). After the verify failed, some guy took over (probably was the "supervisor"). They went through all this and that about the CC# and the customer service number. When it was apparent that they weren't going to add my fake number to their database I called them out. I told him I knew it was a scam call and that they would have known what my CC# was to begin with. He called *ME* childish for wasting 25 minutes of *MY* time (Didn't say anything about his time!). Finally he threatened more of these calls to me and hung up. Wasn't a waste of my time, it was just one other poor sap they couldn't have bothered at that time.
If you don't have the time to do this and you know the call is a scam, just lay on the # button for about 5 seconds. The recording will probably never come on, just hang up.- Caller: Scam

- lvI just got a call from "credit card services" the prerecorded voice talked so fast that I couldn't understand exactly what she was saying, but I heard "lower your credit card interest rate," so I pushed 2 to speak to a real person. He told me he was with Visa/MasterCard and was going to lower my interest rate. He asked if I owed more than $1000 on my credit card and I said yes. He asked how much I owed and I said a lot, but if you're with my credit card company, don't you have access to that? Then I asked what the catch was, I mean are they just lowering interest rates out of the goodness of their hearts? I think not. He gave me some spiel about money available...blah blah blah. Then I asked again what was in it for them he hung up on me

So I started telling that this was a harrasment call and they had hung up before and I was on the national do not call list...They slammed the phone doen. I dialed the number and the phone service said it was no longer in service etc. with both phone numbers. Way to hang up on a guy.... You an't got the balls to discuss about you calling and hanging up or not leaving messages on the answering service.

- NoTelemarketingJust got a call from these [***] - same spiel. I'll start pressing 1,2 whatever until I get a live person and experiment with ways to maximize time wasted. (Slurred speech, difficulty understanding, since it seems that they slam the phone down as soon as they think someone is onto their scam).
