Yes, it is Rhapsody.  I found charges for $9.99 on my debit card statement for May & June with this phone number listed.  It also read RN *PREMIER JUN.  The perosn I spoke with at this number said the RN stands for RealNetwork and Premier is Rhapsody, billed in June.  I think my son registered for the 'free' rhapsody and then somehow after a certain time it changes to Premier and the billing starts.  (...done without my permission...) The lady was nice and assured me it was cancelled, I got a confirmation via email and then she said you can still continue to use the 'free' Rhapsody...I will be keeping my eye out for further charges needless to say.

I am very glad that I found this page. I have written to Lief,Crabrazer, Helman et.al. and ask them if there is the basis for a class action suit....
I just contacted the number 866 212 1343 and the person with whom I spoke said that he canceled my account and would refund this months debit....I want all of my money and I guess I have going to have to pursue other remedies.
Thanks for the information that you have provided here.

I found six months of charges on my credit card for
"RN *REAL BB ESSENTIALS 866-212-1343 WA VISA"
I would like to know how to sue this company for this fraud.  I am tired of companies getting away with ripping me off.  And this is a supposedly reputable company.
Does anyone know about a class action suit?
    Thank you,
    Frank

I just realized that I have eight (8) months of charges on my credit card for $13.77 per month from
"RN *REAL BB ESSENTIALS 866-212-1343 WA VISA"

I called the number 866-212-1343 and asked them one question: What is your legal mailing address?  Instead of giving me their mailing address, the very polite person who answered started reading a script.   She insisted that I call my bank and work with them.  They insisted that they cannot give a refund to me.  They can only give a refund for one month if my bank/credit card company calls them to verify the charge.  I've called my credit card company before when someone put a false charge on my card.  They won't help.

Is Real Networks serious?  They steal from me, then think they can order me to do something for them?  No way!

I just kept asking for their legal mailing address, and she kept reading a script.  Finally, I demanded to speak to a supervisor.  I asked the same question, but added "you are knowingly committing fraud on a massive basis.  I have found hundreds of complaints on the internet.  I need your legal mailing address so I can send you certified mail."  The supervisor hung up on me.

I called back two more times.  Finally, the receptionist agreed to refund 7 of the 8 months.  I guess they suddenly found a way to give a refund to me without me contacting my bank first.

This is simply amazing!  A major company steals from me, and when I ask for my money back, the tell me I have to talk to someone else!  Then they negotiate with me on how much of my money they will return.

What amazes me most, is that they get away with this.  People must be so trained to obey corporations, that a corporation can steal from them, then they will let the corp tell them what to do.

This is simply thievery by deception.  It's fraud.  Shame on Real Networks!

    Here's their legal mail address:
    Real Networks
    2601 Elliot Ave
    Seattle  WA 98121

This message is obviously from someone who is so desperate for a job that they will work for a company that steals by deception.

This is not the fault of the victim.  This is a classic tactic to steal by deception.  This company -- apparently Real Networks -- knows exactly what they are doing, and they know how much money they are making by this act of deception.

I didn't call this number, how come this company took 30 more dollars from my account

I agree this company promotes FRAUD. I have been charged for 2 years without noticing for something I don't use. Despite I changed my billing address and the debit card that they were taking the money off at the beginning of all this they some how got the information of my new card and continue to charge me every $12.99 every month, the charges appear as RN *REAL BB ESSENTIA 866 09/01RN *REAL not even a phone #,  Rn *Real BB Essentia 866-212-134 WA just searching online I figure what it is all about since the number was incomplete. When I called they couldn't explain what was the service that they suppose to be providing me. They cancel the account and offer to reimburse me for the last charge only. My bank responded for 3 of the charges only, and I had to cancel my card for security, and I placed a claim with Better Business Bureau http://www.bbb.org I can believe this company still rates A+ in the reliability report with so many people complaining here. Take it to the end! They are stealing our money and we should stop it!

Found 2 charges on my CC statement from these bandits. Did a web search and found this site. Called the 8662121343 #. "Calvin" could not locate my account by searching my name or email address. THATS BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THESE CROOKS. He then wanted to search by my CC # --- nice try "Calvin". Couldn't explain how they got my CC # in the first place.
Happy ending. Called CC Co. (Chase) Explained the situation and disputed the charges. They called this Realnet Co for a conference call with the three of us."Chris" hung up when I got on the line. Chase credited my account and blocked any further charges from these yo-yos

Please file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau too! (http://www.bbb.org/western-washington/busines ... tle-wa-43000165). There are DOZENS of "complaints" here... but if you don't actually REPORT them to the BBB... nothing will happen to this company. Please do yourself, and everyone else who has been scammed by RealNetworks, a favor... REPORT them! Thank you!

If you've had trouble with unauthorized charges also, consider reporting them to the FBI via http://www.ic3.gov. They investigate large scale fraud, and can do something about it if enough people report it.

This number is supposedly customer service for REAL NETWORKS an online audio / music application company.  I believe they hooked me when I was signing up for my cable tv company (Time Warner) and got my credit card via that linkage.

Now comes the hard part of seeing if I can get them to reverse the charge and discontinue use of my credit card.

I have signed up with an ID Fraud firm and will have them file a THEFT report on my behalf.

Just saw this charge for 14.99 on my account this month.  Will research on this, but the only people I have ever given my card number to was IMVU, Facebook app, Microsoft Live, Child's Yahoo account, and Amazon. Anyone else have a common thread with these companies?  If not, what else can we find in common.  I'm calling the bank and that number tomorrow.
