- cw replies to Karla| 4 replieswhy file class action y when you can file a harassment for 5000 through your state attorney general office for no cost or % off? Most states have anti harassment laws that state you only have to say do not contact me again. If they call you again in the next 6 months it is harassment.
- cw replies to debbie| 2 repliesyou got screwed by your lawyer you should have got $5000 for your suit and it is for harassment. Now if the debt is over 7 years old and they report it to a credit union or call again after you tell them it is over 7 and wont pay it. You get 50k for the credit union filing as defamation of credit. If they call you get 5k. Hell in Washington state it is only 6 years and it can not be collected or reported any long, nor can you be contracted about it.
- cw replies to ShaviIf your still having issues with this company ask for proof of original debt. A collection company can not provide proof because you never borrowed from them. Once they say they can not provide proof tell them not to call again on this item. They have no right to report it to your credit report, nor do they have any right to bother you about it again. If you find it on your report you can sue. If you don't wish to sue just contact the credit bureau and tell them it is a illegal report to your record you never owed that company anything nor have they provided proof of original debt. They will take it off. Plus the original debt can no longer be reported because when it is bought by a collection agency it is paid off. So you can also tell the bureau to remove the original record of the debt as it has been paid off.
- Karen J replies to Orsen| 1 replyOnce a month? They call me twice a day everyday & includes Sunday plus they are getting a payment EVERY month. The balance is very low now. Why do they bother? They are just pissing me off!!!!!

- Eliyah| 1 replyAt 9:53 AM on 04 Jan '12 I received a hang up call from this number. I returned the call and finally spoke to a live human. English was obviously NOT this woman's native language. I asked her to repeat her name 3 times but was never able to understand what she told me.
I asked concerning the hang up call and was informed that they were looking for a Maria Rivera. I told her that my phone number was given to us three years ago when we acquired our Magic Jack VOIP service. She apologized for the call and said she would take our number off their list. Other than the usual language barrier, I was treated in an efficient and polite fashion. We will see what happens now.
Keep calling and putting pressure on these companies. Seems to be working.
Thanks and Shalom- Caller: RPM

- Jorel replies to Karen JYou can sue under the FDCPA. If a lawyer takes your case, the debt collector will have to pay your lawyer his fee and pay you statutory damages of $1000.
Go to www.naca.net to find a consumer lawyer in your area. - alexHave been receiving calls from RPM, but they do not leave a message. I am not sure who they are since they neglect to identify themselves. Is there any way these calls can be blocked?
- DrBarron| 1 replyWell here we go again. My Caller-id stated it was RPM. When I answered the first time I said hello and then for 30 seconds or so nothing. Then they hung up. About 10 minutes later another call. I answered and I was then told they were collecting on a debt for a bank I never had dealings with. Nevertheless, I asked them to send me all the information and I would have my lawyer and CPA look over them and deside when and for how much we would be sueing your company. And one last time, I told you in the beginning I was recording this call due to who it was from. So everything we have said and agreed to you will be doing withing the next 15 days. Remember, papers all of them to the address you have on file. It is the one you stated earlier. Have a great day. And I hung up. No I what. I will keep you up to date.

- DrBarron replies to roy eganThat interesting. With you RPM was a telamarketer but with me they were a collection company. They must be a jack of all trades. Have a great one.
- DrBarron replies to EliyahYou should read what I did to them. I could not get them to understand they had the WRONG middle name and the spelling of the last name was one letter wrong. But never the less it gets better. My caller I new was from India somewhere and thats fine. It's just fun when you ask where they are located and they give you a city in the US. And you say something like, oh yah they just got a ton of snow. And they agree with you. And you can continue the game as long as you like. But you can do what I did also.
- DrBarron replies to cathy weddleJust so you know they are Telemarters and Collection Agency and God only knows what else. :)

- D replies to KarlaWhy not use call blocking? I works great for the 1200 or so calls a month I receive...
- KaminaThey should ban workers for this company, if they are legal. If they are collecting any monies, they should be more professional and finish their conversations.
