Got a call saying that due to irregularities on my  LLBean credit card, I was to call this number and have my account information ready.

Got a similar call and it appears to be legit, based on everything I can figure out.  There is a hold on my LLBean account (appropriately).

I too just got a similar call (left a message) saying that there was an attempt to charge this LL Bean charge account by someone, but they didn't approve it.  The account has been inactive for 10 years, why and how can anyone attempt to charge it?  When I returned the call, there was a delay of 5 min before someone came on and verified my address etc.  I still am suspicious, but can't understand it...

I also received a call from Bank of America about an apparently fradulent charge to my LLBean account.  I called the customer service number on my bank statement and asked if this number (866-217-8731) was a legitimate Bank of America telephone number.  Rich in the fraud department verified that this is a number associatesd with the bank, and that the situation was accurate as it was presented to me.

Got a similar call and found they were a credit monitoring agency who had found a bogus charge on my card ($1800).  Account was cancelled and new card will be issued.  Glad I responded to the call.

I was asked to call 1-866-217-8731 and Brad. It was as above. Fraud on my LLBean card. Locked out of my on-line account, etc. After the conversation I suddenly thought this might be a scam - how stupidly trusting I am - I didn't even think to ask them a single question about who they were! Glad this page was here to cover for my trusting nature. It's legit, but might not have been. Always check here first.

Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions.  Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.

The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people.  There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:
