    boat mechanic replies to Michelle
Ok, being a little paranoid myself, I checked these guys out. I keep getting the green cards so I went to their website. I also went to the BBB website. Check them out for yourselves rather than just assuming they're scamming. That said, I assumed for years that they were a scam and threw away their cards. But like one guy said, you don't stay in business for 10 years if you are a scam. They have a physical address that you can go to, a website, and the BBB rated them B. thats higher than the company that I work for and I thought WE are pretty honest. They ARE a legit business. Here's the link to the BBB listing http://www.bbb.org/stlouis/business-reviews/a ... ld-mo-310012414
I have seen plenty of aftermarket warranty companies, as a boat mechanic, and most of them are legit. Some can be a little hard to get paid from, but after doing a little homework on these guys, I'm going to sign up with both my 02 Ranger and my wifes 08 Focus.
Turns out that they get our info from dealerships and the DMV (or secretary of state). Apparently that's legal in most states.

This is a quote right off the BBB report...
"The Better Business Bureau has received several complaints regarding this company that offers auto service contracts. Complaints primarily allege that the company sent mailings to consumers that indicate that their auto warranty had expired, when it had not. This complaint pattern is reflected in the complaint statistics below."

    another happy customer
Yes, this company is legit. I am extremely happy I received their card in the mail and I then purchased an extended warranty through them. They have payment plans and everything. I have and will continue to recommend these guys to friends and family, you never know when you will need their services and don't wanna get caught with out it. You should also call and find out what plan works for you and buy it. Its in all of our best interest to have this and we should feel privileged a company could offer this without even seeing the vehicle and knowing if it is already having trouble. Take my advice, these guys are good and you should take advantage of this opportunity. I personally don't have the money to replace my transmission if it goes out tomorrow, but now I don't have to worry about it. Think about that and if you have the $$$$ out of pocket to replace your transmission tomorrow, or can you budget a small monthly payment in order to handle such an emergency? We all can budget a small monthly payment. Make the smart choice and don't kick yourself in the butt later.

I also just called them for a vehicle I have that has almost 3,500 miles to go until my 100,000 mi warranty expires and they were STILL trying to sign me up.  Rather forcefully as well, telling me they "don't ordinarily approve something so close to 100,000 miles but they were making a special exception in my case".  I was also told a one time offer and if I changed my mind and wanted to call back it might not be accepted.  Yeah right, these guys want your $$ so badly I think they would drive here to New England pick it up. $149.00 down $110.00 a month for two years.  I think I'll put that $ in the bank and take my chances saving for the repair.

Lol! Take your chances and let's hope you don't eat your words! My truck was at 60,000 and they set me up with coverage. Its now 3 months later and I'm leaving the dealership with a brand new transmission in this truck and it OLNY cost me $100 outta pocket at the dealership for my Deductible that I had on my plan. I wouldn't ever wanna take the risk and I am now planning to set up coverage on my wifes vehicle as well. Lol, save yourself and don't start kicking yourself down the road!

Nat'l Vehicle also calling my home but using the number 314-292-5570.  Looked up the number - same company, same location as the 866 number.  Very persistent, calling 3x per day.  I finally answered and told the girl to stop.  After I told her to stop she called again 30 seconds later just to be a jerk.  Nice company (is it even legit?).

Look at it this way ... if you had a good experience with this "company" would you go to the trouble of looking up their number on the COMPLAINT site and posting about how satisfied you were?

OF COURSE NOT! "HAPPY CUSTOMERS" DO NOT LOOK UP PHONE NUMBERS ON THESE KINDS OF SITES.

Those message are from the scammers. ALWAYS. No exceptions.

Even though this site is supposed to be about people that call you I will address the post card that you recieved.  But first, I would like to inform you that we at National Vehicle Headquarters have never engaged in any outbound calling.  We have only utilized direct mail and some tv advetisement.  There were companies that were using outbound calling to solicit business but by now we have eliminated most if not all of them.  We do need the miles to accuratley provide a quote,  We can quote you without the VIN but it is easier with the VIN because it tells us all about your vehicle.  That's all that it does is provide vehicle information.  In fact, the post card is simply to invite you for a quote if you would like one on your vehicle or vehicles.  The post card has undergone many changes and continues to be modified to better serve the public.

We at National Vehicle Headquarters would not send you a post card on a vehicle that you have not recieved yet unless you are already paying on a loan for it.  Most likely it was on a previous vehicle that you owned.  We purchase your information from list sources and all that we purchase is your name, mailing address and the fact that you either purchased a vehicle, co-signed for someone or re-financed a vehicle.  Now we are the first to tell you that occasionally we get a hold of some bad data.  I mean when you mail out like 15 million postcards a year you are certainly going to recieve some bad data once in a while.  I would look at this particular complaint as a misunderstanding or possibly as a mistake but either way we apologize if the post card offended you in anyway.

We at National Vehicle Headquarters have a rating with the BBB that is satisfactory.  We work closely with the BBB in the rare instance we get a complaint.  We would also be more than happy to address any of your concerns directly.  It is not our practice to scam anyone but to provide a product that protects the buyer from unwanted repair bills.  If you have any concerns you can call me directly at 866-225-6632.  Thank you for your time.

I apologize if someone you spoke with or something you read after your purchase has made you believe you were in anyway scammed.  We at National Vehicle Headquarters are not in the business to decieve or scam anyone but to simply offer a product that can protect you from the high cost of repairs.  Anyone who buys from us is given 30 days to get their downpayment back in full if for any reason they are not satisfied.  We have sold over 140,000 vehicle contracts and always with the customer's best interest in mind.  Thank you for your time.

I understand your confusion.  We do offer the coverage to people that are still under their manufacturers warranty just like the dealers do at the time of purchase.  A service Contract through National Vehicle Headquarters can be compared to the purchase of say life insurance.  When you are young you can get life insurance much cheaper than when you are older and in many cases you can get better coverage.  That's the way it is with a Service Contract.  You get better pricing and in many cases better coverage the earlier you purchase it.  So if your vehicle has plenty of factory warranty left you will pay less and get better coverage than if you were outside the manufacturers warranty.

National Vehicle Headquarters is in no way a scam.  You are very welcome to call your dealer and see what they have to offer but we do offer a low price guarantee.  So if you were to purchase from us and then find the same thing for less somewhere else we will match it.  We also offer you the freedom to choose where you get the repair work done instead of limiting you to the selling dealer even though we highly recommend you using the dealerships of your kind of vehicle.  We talk to millions of people over time and I'm sure that every call has not gone the way that I or the company would prefer but we do record all calls for your protection and all of our representatives are licensed.  Thank you for your time.

National Vehicle Headquarters does in fact offer coverage to people with newer cars as the newer it is the better price and plan coverage you will be entitled too.  Your selling dealers often offers the coverage to you on the day you buy the vehicle and we in many cases do a follow-up to offer the coverage to you if you did not purchase the coverage or were not offered the coverage at the time of purchase.  We are in no way scamming you or anyone.  I can understand the concept as their has been so called warranty companies that in fact were known to lie and hard pressure sell the customer.  We at National Vehicle Headquarters have worked with the Missouri State Attorney General to put them out of business and set the gold standard for doing business with consumers.

National Vehicle Headquarters is in no way a scam.  We have been doing business with the public for over 10 years and have actually worked with the Missouri State Attorney General to help weed out those who indeed scam in some way.  Our business practices have been used to set the example as to what is appropriate.  We encourage you to call your dealer or us if you would like to find out what coverage you may still have on your vehicle.  We have in many cases offered to the consumer a lower price than the dealer as that is all we do is offer coverage plans.  We also encourage you to use your dealer for service work.  We are not here to bad mouth any one but to offer a good product at a fair price.  In fact our plans are offered by many dealerships around the nation.  We ourself have relationships with thousands of dealers nation wide.  Thank you for your time.

National Vehicle Headquarters is indeed found in the BBB records.  We have a satifactory rating of a B.  We are indeed working to achieve an A but so many service contract companies have come and went during the over 10 years that we have been in business that one gets points taken off the scoring just because of the type of industry we are in.  We do not feel this is fair as we have always been exemplary in our conduct and set the gold standard for serving the public.  If you have any qustions please call me a 866-225-6632 and thank you for your time.

National Vehicle Headquarters is in no way a bank.  We offer Service Contracts to help people who cannot afford repair bills.  Thousands upon thousands of companies use direct mail to offer their products to consumers.  We find it the least invasive means to advertise.  One can either take us up on the offer and recieve a quote or throw the post card away.  In any case thank you for your time.

I would tend to think that this consumer called a different place to get a quote.  National Vehicle Headquarters does let people think over the offer and call back later.  We record all of the calls for your protection and make it a habit to be friendly and give you the benefits of having a Service Contract.  All of our representatives are licensed and you can ask any of our representatives for their insurance license number.  These licenses put our representaives under the Director of Insurance in the State of Missouri and we do not take this licensing lightly.

National Vehicle Headquarters has never engaged in auto-dialing or robo-calls or any form of out bound dialing except when we miss a call due to our being busy or closed and the customer leaves a call back request then we will call them back.  This sight is supposed to be all about who calls you but we will still address the fact that we use direct mail to advertise as we find it the least invasive to the public.  Yes, our address is 770 Spirit of St. Louis Blvd., Chesterfield, MO. 63005.  There are other places out there and occasionally we will send a post card or letter to the same customer.  Ask them how long they have bee in business.  We have been in business for over 10 years.  Ask them if their representatives are licensed.  You will find that they are not.  Do be careful about who you deal.  Thank you for your time.
