I am receiving multiple calls each week from the phone number 866-259-3883. The caller hangs up when sent to voicemail. These calls are not wanted.

People need to calm down.  If you are a Verizon customer, they have every right to market to you.  You do have the right to opt out - just tell them not to call.  Not answering the phone is just going to make them keep calling.

They have other jobs available to them, that does not require the necessity of being relentlessly annoying.

They've been calling us almost weekly for a while, but this time they've really upped the ante. I left for work at about 2:00, and I came home to '7 new calls' listed on my phone. 6 of them were this number. All exactly one minute after each other.
    What's up with that?

I keep getting calls from this number even though I have never been a Verizon Wireless customer and even replaced my Verizon landline with a Magic Jack at about 10% of the Verizon annual cost!!! They told me to call their Customer Service to get the calls stopped. I called them 4 times now as each time they told me the calls would stop I keep getting them. This shows how stupid and incompetent the entire Verizon organization is. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH VERIZON!!!!!

My guess is they are just a scam artist group using Verizon as a front to leech more info from you that they've already gotten from somewhere else, ex. Your name, address, phone #, etc. They aren't actually affiliated with Verizon at all. The best thing to do would be to report this number to an official Verizon client, like see if they have a "phishing investigation" department that will continue to investigate these douchbags through the means of the FBI. They use big companies as fronts all the time so we can get on here and be mad at Verizon instead of thinking they're scammers, and so they sound like they are "official". Best thing to do though is never to pick up. Also they know you're a Verizon customer just by randomly googling your phone #, it will say what service you're a part of. We have to fight they [***] as a team guys.

Just noticed that I missed a call from this number on my cell phone.  Since I Haven't set up the voice mail on this phone, they get that message. This is one of very few calls to my cell.  I wonder if they will try again?

Yup they called again.  You'd think that with my voice mail not even set up they would get the message.
Since I am a customer of Verizon wireless they could email me if what they want is all that important

I received a call from this number on my cell. Said "hello" and an automated recording started, then a woman started speaking, could barely understand her, sounded like she had marbles in her mouth.  She asked for my wife and badly mispronounced her name (it is not difficult).  I asked "who?", she repeated it correctly.  I asked who she's with and she said "Verizon".  I asked again and she said something like "Informersion on behalf of Verizon".  Again, she sounded like she had marbles in her mouth.  I told her this is not my wife's number and don't call back.

At first when these calls started I thought it was Verizon, but given how often and annoying their calls have become I'm not so sure now.  Came up as Verizon Wireles (just one "s") on my caller ID.  If I want a new phone from Verizon I will go to the Verizon store so I'm sure of who I'm dealing with.   I blocked this number.

I too received a call today telling me I qualify for an upgrade and that it would only be a $40 activation charge.  I told him it sounds like a great deal and that I was recently thinking about an upgrade.  I proceeded to ask if he was from Verizon and he said he was the marketing firm called InfoCision out of Ohio and he was very pleasant.  My problem is that there is so much fraud in today's world I would never give any of my information to anyone without me calling Verizon directly first.  I explained to the caller and then not long after I lost the connection and they didn't call back.  I then called Verizon from the number of their website and that too was marketing firm but they did verify the deal is in effect.  I will stop by a Verizon store, I just don't like giving me information over the phone to anyone.

Received several calls from this number.  Each time they want me to upgrade my Verizon Wireless service.  I have declined each time and asked them not to call back.  They do of course and, after adding the number to my blocked list, now call from a "restricted" number so I can't block it.  I CONTACTED VERIZON WIRELESS DIRECTLY WHO INFORMED ME THESE CALLS WERE NOT COMING FROM THEM OR AN AGENT OF THEIR COMPANY.  They took a report and forwarded it to their fraud department and suggested I file a complaint with the do not call registry as well.  The REAL verizon wireless rep I spoke with said this was a phishing scam to get personal info.  Other than not answering, trying to call block new numbers, the report they would file with the fraud dept, and a complaint to the do not call registry, there was nothing that could be done to stop them.  Be careful folks and good luck.
