Wow thanks for the info guys! I got the same call from a guy named Brad. He called once before so he claims in his message, but when he called it said unknown number so i didn't pick it up the first time. Few days later he called again and still unknown number so i didn't pick up. He left a message saying he wanted to help sell my car for a fee "of course". I'm not going to bother calling back. I put my car up for sale on every site i could think of lol with my number and name.

    Hi all,

Received a call today (8/11/2009) with the same M.O.
Brad called said he tried to leave other messages (It's a recording)
that he tried to leave other messages and today is the first day my ad hits...
It must have a web crawler, they don't have no details of my car
Some lady answered and said brad is away (I was looking at this site as I talked to her) ...
    www.thebiglot.com

She tried to bluff that oh you have a Jeep Cherokee, (Which I don't) so
be ware. They wanted to charge 199 for matching?
F*ck I couldnt even find their sites thru a google search on "USED CAR"
    for the first 3 pages...

Be away it's a sweat shop

I guess SCAM is close enough...
After reading your site, I realize there was a 702 (Vegas) calls...

They relist them on other free/ useless sites...
So perhaps they can sell but I certainly believe they make most of their
money from Sellers (Not Selling their cars- with their help).

So I too received a call from "Brad" today via my GoogleVoice number so I have the transcript of the call and vmail online, and after listening to it I (duh!) figured it out that "Brad" is an automation, never mentions anything specific about your ad, and is just a recording attached to an autodialer program running through a list of phone numbers farmed off of cars.com, autotrader, craiglist, etc.

Here's the GoogleVoice transcription of "Brad's" call...sound familiar?

You have a new voicemail from

Hi, My name is Brad and I've been trying to call you a couple times now, so I'm just gonna go ahead and leave a message. I work for Longwood in case, and the number here is (866) 326-0949. The reason I'm calling is because I see you're an online and I wanted to let you know that we can get it sold for you. We contact people like you selling vehicles that are buyers are interested in vehicles, like yours, that may not have success with traditional online classifieds and we charges small fee to put your ad in front of people that will buy your vehicle for a price you're happy with and for this particular vehicle weekend back that with a guarantee so if you haven't sold it yet. Give me a call. I'm with Longwood Inc at (866) 326-0949 and again. My name is Brad have a good day.

I also forwarded the "Brad" voicemail transcript onto Cars.com Fraud (reportascam@cars.com) since my phone# was farmed off of their site, and they have more real-world clout than the BBB.

I too have had phone calls from Longwood inc, a guy by the name of Robert Curtain! He has called twice in two days claiming that he will sell my car for a fee of 96$. Any one who would ask for Cash before the job is done sounds to me like a scam! Good luck selling~!

I just got a message from "Brad" of Longwood Inc.  As with everyone here, he offered to sell my car for me for a "small fee".  My ad was in AutoTrader.ca.  Thanks, everyone, for the heads up.

I see where you're coming from gypsy, but actually all of America wanting to be put on the DNC list cost the U.S. all of the benefits and jobs that a former $6 billion (telemarketing) industry provided. Yes, Billions... that, my friend, put us in a financial and unemployment mess.

Apparently you have forgotten the story of Jesus and the moneychangers -- I didn't think Jesus likes scammers, but I suppose that wasn't YOUR Jesus.

And come on, Brad doesn't have a face to kick in the first place!

Got a call from Robert from Longwood Inc.  1-866-326-0949.  Listed my car on Craigslist.com - it's the only way he could have gotten my number and info about my car.  Robert said he could sell my call for what I'm asking, only costs $99.  Sounded like a scam to me.  Then checked google and found all kind of same call complaints.

I posted my ad for my car on craigslist about 2 weeks ago. I've been getting a call from an unknown number for a week and the it happened three times, but everytime I picked up and said hello there was no one there. It wasn't until I happened to be busy on the phone today at work that the call went through to voicemail. I listened to the voicemail, and "Brad" said he guarantee he could sell my car, with the same exact word-for-word message that everyone else said above. And for the people who said that Brad and Longwood Inc. is not a scam, why is it that there was no one on the other end of the phone when they called me the first three times? It wasn't until the call went to my voicemail that I had any real contact from them, so it was clearly a recorded message. If the recording had played when I had answered the phone, I obviously would have discovered that it was a recording. It is clearly a fraud, do not fall for it!
