While it is true that the collection process is meant to scare the crap out of you, getting a lawyer is just a waste of time and money. Current collection laws are only applicable for 3rd party collectors. Checksmart collections is 1st party. So if you want to waste money that you clearly don't have (if you had it, you wouldn't be going to checksmart) go ahead, but they will tell you the same thing I just did.

They can't arrest you for a debt.

If you tell a debt collector 'DONT CALL THAT NUMBER AGAIN' according to the FDCPA they can't call. If they do keep record and file a complaint, advise them you are filing a complaint and then follow through with it and you can sue the collector and the company.

All you had to do was tell the collector that  employee couldn't have any personal calls.

I started getting continuous calls from this number on Friday, January 10, 2014.....no message left, just womans' voice saying to this  telephone number which was different than the number that appeared on the caller I.D.  What REALLY ticked me off was when they called at 8:30 A.M. this morning on Saturday morning, 1-11-14!!!! They began calling at 8:31, then at 9:02, then at 9:40 then at 9:44, each one telling me to CALL this number, BUT MY CALLER I.D. HAD VARIOUS PHONE NUMBERS WITH "916" area codes.  Normally, I would call the number to tell them to TAKE ME OFF THEIR CALL LISTS, but I am tired of all of the "scammers" around, and DON'T want to leave them my number on THEIR caller I.D.!!!!!!!

Do not contact the following #s in regards to Kristy Oakey the #'s are 435-657-3690 or 435-657-3720. This is a demand to place us on your DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. We have received several harassment calls from this # and we are requesting that this # do not contact us again.

Do NOT contact Employer or old Employment in regards to anything about Kristy Oakey. They have recieved numerous calls from this # and harassment of the front receptionist and will NOT accept any more calls these calls are to be stopped immediately. You can deal with Kristy Oakey directly through her cell phone 801-850-4385. She is no longer contactable at this number. 435-657-3690- 435-657-3720

I have been and still sometimes use these companies...but I tell myself, it's not their problem if I am a broke azz, why shouldn't we have to pay our loans back??  We can make up all the excuses, legit an non legit all day long but people we have to be accountable!  Hide all you want but they gonna find ya!  Lol. Sorry.  But reality is just that!  Lordy!

How about these: the loan wasn't made to and is not the responsibility of the person being called or was illegally made in the first place.

Don't pay any attention to the "collector is ALWAYS right" shill trying to scare or shame you into paying here.  The live in countries where slavery and human traffing are still legal.

It's really very simple to stop frauds like you. People just need to know their rights under the FDCPA. Once a person understands their rights they'll know that they need to demand a notice of validation by mail. NOT e-mail or fax. Your fraud-shop won't comply because you won't have legal title to any debt. Or any right to collect any debt. That's why frauds like you spoof phone numbers & never, ever give out your valid physical address.

Woman called claiming she was calling from the State's Govenor's Office. She accused me of hiding a person, She demanded I tell her where the person was.

Criminals!

The man that calls me from this number calls himself Mr.keys. he is rude, uses foul language when he is yelling at me.  I refuse to even speak too him anymore . what makes him think that it is OK to speak to people like that. When I called the numbge back the woman that answered the phone asked me what company was I calking about. She then said that their office is the corporate office for several companies.

Um, this isn't the place to post a message for the caller to stop calling you.  They likely are never going to see it.  People post here that have received calls from said number so others are able to find out who is calling from that number.

Calls everyday all day, even called at work.  Very rude and unprofessional people.  Don't know from what company they are from and will not leave a name.
