- BTD replies to deleted post| 1 replyWTF?......."The comany is legit"....That is truly funny!!!.... I highly doubt the real "Jerry" (original post May 27th) feels that way. It just goes to show that the people at Canadian Mediapages are worried about the truth getting out so they're trolling websites like this and trying to confuse people with posts like "Reply to Jerry" (May 31st) and "Jerry Pretty" (June 4th).......
They've found a little loophole in the law but they're still scammers that supply a product worth absolutely nothing. If they contact you, tell them you're not interested. If you've already received their "product" and they're demanding money, tell them you'll call Phonebusters or the RCMP.
The only way to put them out of business is if everyone knows what they are...... - BTD replies to deleted postHere we go again....another day, another imposter......
Just to clarify, Canadian Mediapages are indeed, a scam company, selling a useless product. Do not do business with them. - Robbie replies to Cindy SmithWeirdly, all it takes to get BBB accredited is a check for about $ 400 made out to the BBB. They don't actually do anything for you beyond that, and is in my opinion a mcuh bigger scam than any of these directory companies.
- KMGThis company is THE WORST and definitely a scam. I got the first call last week saying that my exec ordered their CD. Yeah, right. Anyway, I blatently told 'Bill' today that I was now fully aware that they weren't a legitimate company and that I would be reporting them. We'll see how that goes. All I know is - they're not getting a dime out of me.

- MarleyOur company is dealing with the exact same problems. A new employee answered their call and since they said they were "renewing", he thought it was okay. When we responded to the CD being shipped out Marlene basically replied with a fax that we had agreed and there was nothing we could do. We couriered the CD and invoice back to them and lo and behold, it arrived back here today rejected! I'm going to take your advice and contact both Phonebusters and the RCMP. Thanks for this website!
- Jessica replies to sassy2When you dont pay your bills,it shows that you probably never pay your rent,or utilities, you probably live in a trailer park.
- fedupYes, this company is still in business.
Recieved a fax recently and faxed them back that they would never recieve money and that we have reported them. I expect we will get faxes every 6 months or so hoping for new managers or that we will get fed up and pay it thinking it will end there.
I dont know what is wrong with people. Get a real job scammers.- Caller: canadian mediapages
- ReceptionistThank you all for these posts ... you saved my company a lot of headaches. The president of my company got same call about renewing and updating advertisement on their website. After that call, he got an invoice in the mail for the amount of about $500. After calling them to inform that we did not order anything from them and arguing on the phone, we got nowhere. So, I goggled the company and came to this site. Thank God we did not pay anything. Their next call about our "outstanding" invoice, was quite quick since I flat out told them ... listen, no one ask for the advertisement from you and if we did, at least we would make sure YOU SPELLED THE COMPANY NAME RIGHT ... which they did not. So the excuses of ... “but we did all this work for you already, can we drop the price to $150?”, I got ticked and said “No. If we can’t do this nicely, let do it this way ... you have 48 hours to cancel the advertisement impersonating our company and to send me a confirmation that the invoice has been cancelled or else I will be reposting you to RCMP (http://www.recol.ca) and Phone-Busters.” Boy that got their attention since within 1 hour, I received a confirmation with subject line “ Invoice XXX has been closed” and this in the body of the letter
As per your conversation with our representative, this letter is to confirm, due to a misunderstanding, Invoice # XXXXX was cancelled in full.
Please keep the publication complementary and adjust your records to reflect a $0.00 balance, and informed those parties involved of our position.
Sincerely

So ... 1 week later, the boss gets an e-mail from info@411webconnect.com with the same advertising scam ... how do I know? Our company name from both advertising scams was spelled the same (incorrectly). So, here we go again. I am not sure how we can get off this these scammer lists, but at least the report to RCMP and Phone-Buster worked for the first one. I have replied the same to this e-mail ... so we will see if this will also hold true. Good luck to anyone dealing with these guys. DON’T PAY THEM, FIGHT THEM!!- Caller: Canadian Media Pages

- K| 1 replyThis is not K, I was just checking to see media pages could use the same name as someone else in this feed and pretend as above to retract their complaint. I think this is unreal, these people should be shot not taken to prison,if they are in prison that means we still have to pay for them.

- Former Telemarketer replies to D Freedman| 1 replyThe company does provide a legitimate product - even though it's way over-priced. As far as I know, they DO NOT bill you if you have not ordered. If you did order it, you should honour your commitments and pay your bill. If you feel that you were tricked or scammed, feel free to call the COMPETITION BUREAU/RCMP or BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (not that the BBB is a legal entity that has powers over businesses, they're essentially just a provider of legitimacy for a $400 fee).
Of special note - is that a LARGE portion of their employees are former employees of ONFOTEL PUBLICATIONS which is now under investigation by the Competition Bureau (check http://goo.gl/V1XM for details) - so employees have gone from one place to another it seems).
If you don't want to pay - just mention the fact that you're lodging complaints with the Better Business Bureau as well as the Competition Bureau - and they'll bring your bill down to zero before you're even finished saying it.
And for companies that have been told that they're OBLIGATED to pay for a second year - it's not true at all - and the industry term for what they're doing, this "reselling" - it's called LOADING or LOADS - and it's COMPLETELY illegal and should be reported to the authorities as soon as possible. - Former Telemarketer replies to Former TelemarketerSorry - that company that a large portion of the employees worked at was INFOTEL PUBLICATIONS (not Onfotel - sorry) - and further information regarding that company can be found at http://goo.gl/V1XM

- Canadian Media Pages replies to Doreth| 2 repliesThese people are sick enough that they actually posted Doreth's contact info. Clearly she did not post this, and the employee (crook) at Canadian Media Pages recognized the account and posted her info. Absolutely brutal.
