I keep receiving these phones calls and they are not for me.  The Susan that they want doesn't even live at my house but they keep harrassing me.  I've called and told them to stop harrassing me but they keep on.  I don't remember the last name of the Susan they are looking for but it is not me.  I refuse to give them my last name because it is none of their business.  I have excellant credit over 700 so this debt is not mine.

I have been getting calls from a guy named Ken from this company Cambridge, Huxley, Assoc and he told me that they were not a law firm they are a consulting company. He calls me from a 716-204-1405 number but he gave me 866-376-4180 ext 317 and has maintained that every call. when i told him that i got calls from this number before and it was from people threatening me saying they are bringing suit against me for non payment of a payday loan. he says that isnt true they are a consulting company. and i am required to pay this i also told him i saw information on the web about this company not being legit. he got a little hostile and i had to let him know that i wanted to consult my attorney first before i paid this becuase i had some issues with some other illegal pracices concerning debt collection. i am reading everyones post and i think they read these things so they respond accoridingly. but i am unsure if these people are real or not. i had a payday loann with cashnet in 2008 but they took the money directly out of my account. and if i owed them anymore money then why did they wait a whole year to contact me. he had some personal information though my SS #, my DOB, my DL # and i know they didnt ask me for any of that stuff. he wanted me to western union the money if i wasnt comfortable giving my account number. can anyone advise me on what to do? thanks

Same as above,,,,,Cambridge Huxley...it was a Mr Scrantino or Farantino...if these people are going to leave messsages...at least speak clearly....GEEEZZ...I thought it was about a parking ticket...but I KNOW THEY sure would not be calling...lol...so what is my next step?

my parents recieved a call regarding my ex wife.  i called them and it didn't take long to get info out of them.  they told me if they din't hear from my ex by tuesday, a summons would be issued by friday for criminal charges, as she falsifeid info on the application, hasn't paid the mony back, and they cant get a hold of her.  any one know how true this is?

Thank you for your post.  These guys were calling for my husband and leaving very rude messages.  I have kids in this house and some of the messages they were leaving I didn't appreciate my kids hearing. Whats sad is they pretend to be perfect and not have any debt themselves!  Especially in an economy like this where people are losing there jobs and doing everything they can just to support their families.  These guys are pricks!

do not sign the letter - type your name only

Collection agencies will copy your signature onto other documents, so it appears that you signed them when you never did

Requesting that you wire the money is the sure sign this is a scam

Wired money is gone for good.  no legitimate collections will ask that you wire money.

This man called my house about my neighbors and called himself an "investigator", wanting me to contact him if I know their whereabouts. Before anyone else claims to know the laws that protect debt collectors...misrepresenting yourself IS AGAINST THE LAW!!! I will be saving the message and telling the neighbor, hope he files charges!

I just got a threating call from this number stating that some kind of lawsuit was being filed against me so to call them or have my attorney contact them.

I got a call today from these losers. Same stories you guys are telling. I offered to pay the debt in full on the 10th and she would not accept payment. She told me I either pay today or she will file suit against me today. HAHAH LOL i told her to go right on head. I think it's pretty stupid that she wouldn't take the payment on the 10th now she will get nothing from me.

I have been receiving threatning calls from this law firm as well. They said they will have me arrested and have all my wages garnished. I have asked for documents to prove the validity of this complaint and they could not provide this. He was very rude calling me names and very unprofessional. Has anyone else thought of a group lawsuit against this company for harrassment?

The debt may be legal but the tatics of the collection agency aren't. They aren't allowed to threaten you and harass you. And if you don't give a crap about this and you are perfect why are you even on this website. Sounds like you have nothing better to do but judge other people. Get a life.

Mr Johnson from Cambridge, Huxley and Associates called my husband's son's ex mother in law and and said that she was a reference of mine. I've never spoken to or met this woman in my life! She lives 2,00 miles from me. How they got her phone number and connected her with me is beyond comprehension. I've worked with debt collectors before in a job I had some years ago and I know how they work, but these guys seem to go above and beyond!

This company was calling my son and somehow they got my phone number and I told them I would pay them on the 7th but they would not except and they told me that they filed a petition with the AZ attorney general and that my son will be charged with a felony.  I told them that he only owes $250 and that I will pay it and the guy told me that I needed to borrow the money by 3pm yesterday or the attorney general will be contacting my son.  After reading all the notes I am going to pay off his debt on the 7th and let that be that.  Thanks for all your information.
