Capitol One Bank Card.
I just got a new cell phone through Verizon, it had not even been active for 3 hours and I got a call.

it is capital one bank even if you don't have an account they may still call

866-381-0453 keeps calling when asked if you can take message they say there is no message. they call several times a day

they call this number that use to belong to step sister, she owes everyone money, have asked them not to call, told them today evreytime they call. will be one more call to attorney general. then gave them step sister's number. 25 calls a dau from crediters.

What If you have NEVER owned a credit card or NEVER used or persued any business with Capitol One and you are getting these calls? If they are still trying to take information from you, then that does not seem right at all. I have also been recieving these calls every 20 min.

advised them to please take my number off the calling list, did not happen.

I NEVER give out this number as my personal number.  How did they get it?

They called but when I said hello they just hung up... not sure what they wanted. It's Capital One.

I have to wonder what kind of person whould choose to work in debt collections? Are they really that unskilled in anything else that this was all they could come up with? Google makes them irrelevant and must really screw with the losers who work in such a job.

Caller ID + Google makes dumb debt collectors go away.

These fools will never get my money and that makes me smile knowing I spent all of their money and they can't do anything other than call a forwarded to cell phone hell number.

Called back to 866-381-0453 & reached a Capital One credit card representative.  When I explained I had no credit card or any other accounts with Capital One, he said they would remove my number from their calling list within 72 hours & apologized for the inconvenience.  He would not say why they had my cell phone number in the first place on some calling list.

Yesterday and today I received an unsolicited call from this number and from "1-866-929-5306", asking for "James Kirk". Both calls went something like this:

'Droid: "Hello. May I speak to James Kirk?"
Me: "James Kirk?"
'Droid: "Yes."
Me: "Of the Starship Enterprise?"
'Droid: "Huh?"
Me: "James Kirk, of the Starship Enterprise?"
'Droid: "Yes."
Me: "Call back in two hundred years. He won't be born until 2233."

part of the scam are we?

My phone was contacted by this number 3 times a day for a month. It got very annoying because every time I answered they would hang up. Finally I talked to them and they said they were looking for someone named John. I don't know John nor do I want to, tey said they would take me off the list and the next day, the calls stopped.

Can this # be blocked? They have called before. I didn't answer and they did not leave voice mail.

They keep calling and saying nothing then the call ends.  According to this forum it is Capital One.  These people have been senidng me at least 3 emails per week for years, some disguised until they are opened.  I junk them all, yet, they continue soliciting.  Now they are calling?  What imaginable waste when you consider the time, material, labor and postage involved if this is their practice times thousands?

Continual calls from this number.  Person just asks for "John"  I have repeatedly told them - both politely and impolitely - that they have the wrong number, but continue to receive the calls.  Lately, just the call: no one says anything.

this same number keeps calling me too...they call me about 5 times a day. I havent answered it but i googled the number and read who it was from and what it was about.

So glad these postings are here to let me know that this has happened to others.  I have no dealings with this bank and am also annoyed....well...I guess I will ignore as I don't have Lingo and do not know how  to set up call forwarding back to their number...GREAT idea!!!!

I can't understand a damn thing they say. I tell them to call me from the USA and learn to speak engerish.
