    PITA
just got off the phone with the TRUE capitol one call center from the phone number listed on my card. They have no record of the number 866-381-0453 being associated with them. However when you call that number back they identify themselves as Capitol One and immediatly want your account number.
DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. IT HAS TO BE A SCAM OF SOME SORT.

This is interesting to know. I've been getting calls from a NCO Financial and been ignoring them. I have nothing with such a company nor any bills in collections. So today I decided to answer the call and find out who the heck it was. Turns out, they were looking for an ex-boyfriend from 20 yrs ago when I lived in Virginia!!!!!!!! I even said to the girl 'Are you kidding me?' Apparently, they found my name and address connected to him from some old auto loan that I co-signed on and he defaulted on years ago. I got stuck paying off the repo and moved to New Jersey, changing the address on the bank's billing to NJ. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I guess he's under collection for something and they're trying to tack him down. They had better not call back!

I get a call from this number every night for the last 4 days. When I answer, no one responds. Just dead air. I'm reporting them on the Do-Not-Call page of the Federal Trade Commission website. Here's their complaint page: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

I urge everyone to use it.

I do not think that this will apply to bill collectors.  I wished it did when the bill is older than dirt itself and I am no longer legally obligated to pay this bill.  It is not even on my credit report no where.

Calls every single day. No messsage.  I am currently in a dispute with Capital One so I suspect its them.  They refuse to follow the law, so I have written letters to their CEO Richard D. Fairbank, my State Attorney General, the Federal Reserve Consumer Help dept and the FTC. They continue to attempt to collect on a debt they cannot verify is mine. Folks this company thinks it is above the law.  Here is a link to the mailing address for Mr. Fairbank. http://consumerist.com/191037/complain-mailin ... ichard-fairbank
People need to stand up to these cowards. They refuse to answer any questions regarding your supposed debt with them, but insist you pay anyway. They even admitted to me that there is no signed documentation for them to send me. WHAT?  What a scam.  People need to read the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and know their rights. We need to stop these thieves from robbing us blind.  Legalized criminals is what they are!

They call day and night. They wake me up after working night shifts. They should be blocked from making calls to ANYONE immediately! Can't the real Capital One legally stop this?! Who will want a credit card from a company name associated with this scam?

We don't even have a capital one credit card and they call every F$&!ing night. Last night at 11:26PM and 10:30PM the night before. I get up at 2:00AM for work!
    866-381-0453 and 866-929-5306

I call back to tell them to stop. The recorded menu asks for my fuull 16 digit credit card number AND my full 9 digit social security number. Are you kidding me. When I get through to a person they ask for even more personal information.

How did they get my number? I don't even have a capital one credit card!

    fed up
All these credit card companies are a pain in the a--.
Our phone rings 24/7 and not one leaves a message. I thought
that was why we have answering machines. Every time I answer the
phone, they expect us to sit on hold and wait for them so we
can listen to their bull----. Times are really hard right now, and
our focus is to keep a roof over our head, food on our table, and
everything else we need for our kids!!

What really irritates me is we have all these companies being bailed
out by the government(meaning us tax payers) but yet when it comes to
us owing them money, they put a judgment out on you and garnish our
wages.. what up with that?? So what's left, bankruptcy??

I received calls from this number at numerous times odd times such as 8:00 am and again at 10:00 am. When I returned the call it was a recording. I pressed 0 until I got a human on the line to ask why I was receiving the calls. I told him that if he was indeed with capital one he could look up my name or phone number that he was calling and get my information and see that my account was in good standing, so futhermore he had no reason to be contacting me. He kept requesting my credit card number and my social security number to both of which I replied no and told him his practices were illegal and that I would be reporting his phone number to the FTC.

They just called a girls phone. She is staying with me. Her name is (Sasha) and mine obviously is not on her phone. They knew my first AND last name. They call her many times a day. She has no real ties to me what-so-ever. Im only 21 and she is only 20. There is no scam that they should try to run on me. If its capital one- I canceled my card and haven't received the bill of how much i still owe them. that "no hassle" BS is just that. BS. They called me day in and day out for weeks. this guy on 866number was Middle Eastern (or something not of this country) and was laughing trying to say my name.
    • Caller: Wouldn't tell me.

I work for a tech support line at my ISP, YOU WILL hear a bunch of people in the background on phone calls, IT'S A CALL CENTER. And in all honesty, I couldn't tell you the CEO of my company.

The fact that you dialed in bogus information proves nothing, the system just requires a certain number of digits, which passes it along to the rep that takes your call. It helps the call be more efficient if you entered the right info. Instead of having to ask you again for the info.

Worried about it being possibly based in India? It's called cheap labor since it costs too much in and there's not enough people that are willing to do the job in America. They actually can conduct themselves pretty good as long as you're not ignorant. I got the call, I paid the bill, It reflected upon my account correctly on the website.

I have been getting calls from this # ... I have an account w/ Capital One but no credit cards so the issue w/ the calls is not not paying your bills.

I think you are too sensitive to understand what the person is saying...It is a scam.  Their are actually a total of 8 numbers this group uses and they also call under "unavailable".  I and several other friends who do not have a capital one card have been called by these numbers and the first thing they say after you say hello is...this is capital one, please give me your card number and your social security number.  I called capital one and they said these are phishing and so not legit.  Criminals set up call centers too.  The sound of calls in the background doesn't make it legit.  I hope with your "sunny disposition"  you are not one of our hard working, underappreciated customer service reps. Not good for your company or your mental health it seems...
