Ive gotten a call from this number an i answered and i said "Hi" and no one said anything so i hung up.

Same crap as everyone else.  Calls several times a week and never leaves a message.

Harassment

I have received multiple calls from this number. The calls come in everyday; when they first started I'd answered but no one would say anything. Now I just ignore them, but they just keep calling.

Capital 1 I guess.. they called me harrassing me at work.. guess what my cell company has- CALL BLOCK [***]!!

Receive 4 calls per day on my assigned company cell phone number from Capital One. When I answer it, no one on the other line. When I call them back and try to get connected to a representative, the message is " this conversation may be recorded" and then you get promptly hung up on.

Stop calling or at least leave a message.

looked up and read all of the postings for the above numbers on my cell. Trashy, phishing, don't answer. If it were a legit call from Capital One, they would have called on a landline since I don't give out my cell number.

I have been recieveing calls from this number I told them I filed bankruptcy and that they need ed to contact my attorney. I even gave them his munber and address. But they still are calling

They are NOT Capital One.  Call the number on the back of your card.  DO NOT call any of the numbers they may give you (i.e. 1-800-955-6600 - supposed fraud department).  They lead you to believe you have a payment due and attempt to make a way for you to pay it.

Son is due to make a payment 2 days ago, he already called the # on back of the card to let them know there was a death in the family and payment will be 6 days late.
Now we are getting calls ALL DAY LONG

I ask if I can take a message and they hang up.
I ask who is calling and they hang up.

I do not have a Capital One credit card, so not sure why they are calling my cell phone number or how they even got it. They call all the time and never leave a message.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO - Caller ID's Can be fooled easily.  

Get the informations FROM the person calling you including their full name a return number and operator number.  THEN CALL the Capital one Customer service Number to verify. 1-800-955-7070

If the person calling is legitamate - they will give you the information.  If it is a SCAM as the person who called me - they will hang up.

I do not have a Capital One account and they kept wanting me to give them my information.  If they called me, they should have it in front of them.

DONT TRUST THE CALLER ID DISPLAY - Anyone can buy the device to change the display.

If Capital One calls you and ask for someone else repeatedly. Espeically if you do not do business with them. File a complaint at:

Write your congressman and complain.

Record all calls times and who you spoke to. and what date you told them not to call anymore.

How do you block a calling number?  This number keeps calling me continuously for quite sometime now.  Pls. help

I just got two calls today from this number (866-381-0453). I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, nor do I return calls from people that don't leave a message. No message left, so I'm not calling back or answering the next time they call.

800-955-6600 is a valid number for Capital One customer service. It's on my statement.

Not sure if this web site is legit. Call a lawyer in your area. They say some will take the case for free the debt collector has to pay. Depending on the attorney.

Call your congressman, he made it legal to get repeated harrassing calls from collectors you do not owe. Let him know what you think of that. If you do not speak up no one will.

Also unenforceable telemarker calls. They are legal from outside of the USA. Thanks Mr. congressman for making my life miserable.

I receive multiple calls from this number on a daily basis.  I finally started calling back, it's Capital One, I do not have one of their cards.  Their automated system transfers me to a call center obviously based in India.  They cannot explain why they are calling, who they are calling for, and only promise to remove my number frm their list.  So far, that hasn't worked, they keep calling!!!  They also call from several other toll-free numbers, including 866-929-5306, 866-929-5307, 800-955-6600.

THESE CALLS CAN BE BLOCKED !!!  "Call Forwarding Selective " from Lingo or a similar service from other VOIP providers.  (Confirm the provider has the capability I describe below before you switch your current phone service.)

With "Call Forwarding Selective" on Lingo you can reroute any types of calls that you deem to be harassing right back to the company so they end up harassing themselves.  With it you can route any quantity of phone numbers to any other numbers of your choosing.  (You can set up multiple rules as well such that you can also separately forward legitimate calls to your cell phone, for example.)

In a recent case for Absolute Collection Services I have already set up rules to forward "919-755-2*" and "919-755-3*" right back to 800-752-4172 (the callback number their robo-caller leaves), so the company will end up calling itself.  (In this case they're calling about a relative who is paying a medical bill in installments, so they shouldn't even be calling, and further they were informed not to call any more.)  Notice the asterisk wildcard on the incoming numbers.  In this case that means even if they have a block of 1000 phone numbers, anything that matches before the wildcard will be routed back to them.  You can block entire area codes if you wish by entering just the area code followed by an asterisk.  Of course you can also enter the full 10 digit number, and even longer numbers from foreign countries.  (And if you would prefer not to route calls back to them you could also use one of the special fake numbers set up, such as those for giving 'your' phone number out to strangers when you hate to say no but don't really want them to call you.)

This feature is wonderful.  Not only will you not be harassed, you'll get the satisfaction of knowing you're aggravating the hell out of them because they're not able to harass you, and instead they're causing their own phones to ring.  Every now and then you can go check your call log and see any calls that came in and were immediately forwarded.  And note that your phone never rings at all, and the originating caller ID information gets passed through to whatever forwarding number you set up.  Your number does NOT appear at the destination number's caller ID.  They may figure it out eventually, but they won't be able to do anything about it.

No, I don't work for Lingo.  I'm just tired of abusive collection services, telemarketers, etc., many of whom don't care whether they're calling the correct number or not.
