anyone stupid enough to give information to a voice over the phone who calls you.
    deserves what they get.

of course they ask for your social security number and such.
they take your information and put it on another person's account who has a name similar as yours.

there are hundreds of thousands / millions of people with name such as  Jim Smith, John Smith, Lee Jones
    etc.

They call up such as___  John Smith ( which is the wrong john smith ) and ask for his social security number and info.

They take that and put in on a John Smith that who owes all kinds of money. Next, the innocent John Smith
now owes all that money. They do that all the time. You can not imagine how many people pay money they do not
owe. Not long ago, several states attorney generals filed lawsuits against several collection agencies, large and small
collection agencies for forcing, intimidating, harassing innocent people into paying debts they did NOT owe.
Matter fact, they are still asking people who paid to submit the amounts and info on payments they made so the attorneys
general can see that those collection agencies refund the money.
Tens thousands of people had paid money on debts they did NOT owe !!!!!

Tell your bankruptcy attorney. He will know what to do to stop them.
If it is still going on when you go to federal court, tell the federal judge that you are still being
harassed by a creditor, collection agency who will not stop.
Tell your attorney and then the judge in court.

I don't have a Capital One credit card. I don't have any credit cards. I don't and I never needed any.
I get calls from these idiots; they start the call with " what is your social security number and what is your
checking account so we can get your past due bill paid.

All you idiots saying people should pay their bills so they don't get these calls.

Just how much should I pay on a credit card I don't have and never had ?

Tell me___ even though I don't have a credit card from these people or anywhere else,  who and how much
    should I pay ?

You people who say that we should just pay our bills to get the calls to stop, You Make Me Sick.

First, I do not and have and never have received food stamps.

When I was in college I worked for a small mom and pop grocery store. We had a seminar on food stamps. (training)
You and everyone else here need to understand something__

What one poster above said, people on food stamps have been verified, income, number people in household, etc.

Something you need to and better understand.

What these people spend their food stamps on is none of anyone's business. It is NOT illegal for them to buy prime rib,
lobster, or can soup. One of you posters mention reporting them.
    REPORT THEM FOR WHAT ?
Buying shrimp or steak with food stamps is not illegal.
We were told by the U.S. Dept. Agriculture lady who came out and did the seminar; to never comment on what a food stamp recipient spent their food stamps on. Never !
As long as they are not buying non-food it is none of anyone's business.

All you did was encourage the idiot collectors to call you again each and every time they can't get in touch with your sister.
Your sister will eventually catch on to you giving out her telephone number and stop giving it to you for you to stupidly
give it out to a voice on the telephone.
The collection agencies will continually call you however.
They rely on idiots like you for information. You should just change your telephone number to a non-published- unlisted
telephone number and stop helping collection agencies who don't give a d@mn about you or appreciate you in any way.
They will harass you from now until the end of time; seeing as how you were stupid enough to give them information
on someone they were looking for.

Enjoy what you have coming you dumb Bich.

They call your neighbors, work, relatives, etc. etc.  OR you at some time called them on the number your talking about.
Even though you use the *67 to block your number from them getting it when you call them, they still get it.
    800, 888, 877, etc. numbers , *67 block will not work.
Also if they have and I have no doubt  they have equipment to obtain your number when you call them and use  *67 number delivery block.
When you change your number to a non-published, unlisted number. NEVER call them from it.
Also, every other creditor which you may be up to date on, have good credit with,  do not give them your new unlisted-non-published number.  DO NOT give it to any creditor you have regardless whether or not you are in good or bad terms.
DO not give it to any business that you use.  Do not give it to your power company . Do not call any of these other businesses from your new number !!!!

If you need to call one of your other credit card companies or power company , etc. Call them from a pay telephone.
Even better, I purchased a prepaid cell phone at walmart to use for other companies, businesses I do business with.
That way I call them if I need to at any time then I turn the prepaid cell phone off !!

These idiot collection agencies call all your other businesses, power company, etc. who you do business with and get your number from them. That is why I said to NOT give it to even good companies you use. Get the pre-paid cell phone to use for
them. You can turn it off until you need it and your not being bothered.
    Good Luck

p.s.  I do this and I have none of the idiot collection agencies calling me.

You sure are a gullible fool.  They lied to you. They will not stop. People who really owe them money tell them the same thing
trying to stop them from calling; so they assume everyone, including you are a liar who is saying that to stop them from calling.

Change your number to a non-published-unlisted number.

Hey you fool, they have tens of thousands of numbers they use. You block one and they roll right over to a new number.
    They also spoof numbers.

    Google---->>>  TELEPHONE NUMBER SPOOFING

That is where they hijack a phone number from a person or business, lot of times in your area, city. They call you and
make that fake - hijacked number from a legitimate business show up on your caller i.d.
Blocking their number does no good.

Only way is to change your phone number and give it to ABSOLUTELY NO ONE !!
NOT EVEN TO CREDITORS YOUR ON GOOD TERMS WITH. NOT EVEN YOUR POWER COMPANY.
DO NOT CALL ANY OF THE GOOD COMPANIES FROM YOUR NEW NUMBER AS THEY WILL CAPTURE IT.

Buy a pre-paid cell phone to call your good creditors, utilities, etc. on. Call and do your business and turn the phone off.
IF they give it to the collection agency, it wont do them any good. Just keep it turned off when your not using it to call
    your good creditors.

The way everyone here can get them back___

Each and every number they call you and others on.

Get online and look up--->> refinance mortgage --- companies.
Click on as many of these mortgage companies and fill out their short inquiry form for information on a refinance, instead of entering your phone number, enter these collection agencies phone number as your contact phone.

When you fill out one of those information websites to get information on a refinance
They sell, resell, forward, on and on and on , your phone number to anyone and everyone.

When you use the collection agencies phone number , the collection agency will get calls upon calls that will never stop. Using up their customer service people time.
Enter the collection agencies number as your work phone number. Make up a name for yourself. Google as many mortgage refinance companies as you can and goto their website and fill out their info box for information on refinancing your house. Using the collection agencies number as your work number and enter a fake name or name of the person you don't know who the collection agency is calling asking for.
Google as many mortgage companies as you can and fill out their websites using the collection agencies number.

-->> If everyone did that, by the time the online mortgage companies and lot are crooks , get thru calling the collection agencies. It would be untold amount of calls the collection agency would get each and everyday.
Give them a taste of what they are doing to everyone else.

Insist on your attorney filing a motion / complaint in federal bankruptcy court against the creditor-collection agency.
if you don't insist, your attorney is lazy and will not do anything. At which point the calls will never stop.
If nothing else, when you go to court for you discharge hearing, raise your hand and tell the judge.

You goofy idiot.  Who do you think cares on here ?   NO ONE !

Instead of whining to thin air on here, why don't you write a CEASE AND DESIST LETTER and mail it by
U.S. Post Office , Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested. Keep a copy of your letter telling to
Cease and Desist calling you , your phone number, your neighbors, your work, or anyone else.
Make sure you put in your letter the number (s) they are calling that your telling them to Cease and Desist calling.

Keep a copy of your letter and all your receipts from the post office that you get when you mail it certified mail.
Mail it to the collection agency's PHYSICAL ADDRESS  and  NOT their P.O. Box.

Make sure you mail it to the collection agency's PHYSICAL ADDRESS.

You do not have to prove you were not there.

They have to prove that you were there.

The burden of proof is on them.

They thought they were cute with me. I fooled them.

They tried to sue me after the statute of limitations is had expired on my alleged debt with them.

I filed a counter suit against them and a separate one against their attorney for filing a fraudulent lawsuit.
For them filing an out of statute lawsuit which is against federal fair debt collection practices act.
Their attorney made a settlement with me.

After court was all and done.

I wrote up an official letter of complaint against the attorney for violating federal law by filing the lawsuit  that
    violated the statute of limitations.
I filed that complaint with the state bar association that licenses attorneys.
