I recieved a call from this # too. What was really strange is that the phone call came in on an unlisted #. We have 2 lines. We only give out one of them to friends and family...the other is only used by me. I have no idea how anyone got this #. The call said that I was being contacted by an inmate using Global Network...to accept press 1. Well, I wasn't pressing anything. I just hung up. After the call I called and told my husband who said he got the same call the day before, and he hung up as well. I'd love to know how to find out who is doing this.

Im getting the same from 23333, I called Sprint and they refunded all the charges. I can block all text msg's or they said to contact 23333 to tell them to stop.Fat chance right!

I just received my bank statment with a charge and the phone # 8887267066
when checking the number I received the same message to reply Y and the web site mentioned in the text was www.smsvw.com

three calls today, when i returned the call, i didn't press any numbers bc i didn't want to get a text from the co. and then get charged. i called cingular and they flagged my acct and told me to call their fraud dept on monday. bah!

I received this call on 3 June around 7pm.  This is BS to have telemarketers reaching "us" on cell phones now!  It also said that it was a collect call from some detention center.

The National Do Not Call list is suppose to work.  I registered for it recently, and more often than not I hear good remarks on how well it works.

I hung up and called back the 866 number and another recording came on and said call this other number 1-876-536-5712. Which is area code to Jamaica.What kind of scam is this?

Well it is a scam. But to avoid getting hit again. You can reply to the text with STOP and it will remove your number from listing or service@smsvw.com with mobile number and it to will remove your number. I replied to the text, but for every time I sent one I recieved one back. I think it went on for about 5 more time before I got a respond that said I’m NOT subscribed to the locater service. No further charges have been apply. If I need assistance please send HELP or call 800-741-5900. You can also check out the website http://www.smsvw.com/?page=Home opt-out and it will give you the instructions. I just hope that I do not get billed.

I have a new telephone number for you all to try.  Hopefully this will hit the SMSVW.com people back where it hurts (or at least to the point of being a nuisance).  The number is (904) 543-9600, which is a Florida number.  The voice-mail said it is for someone named Greg at SMSVW.com.  While I hope it's actually a live line and not just a voice-mail, I'm not sure at the moment as I called it after 5pm Eastern time.  So, hopefully if we call this during business hours we will get a live person and not just a recording.  I hope this helps all of you out.

called my cell phone several times in the span of about 3 days.  The first time I answered, and it was a recorded message. Now it is calling at radom times throughout the day.

got a call from 866-478-8892. He asks for Charles May, and wanted to know if he had dialed a 931 prefixed number. When I tried to call the number back,
it was disconnected.
I am reporting this to the phone company and blocking this #.

I got one call yesterday and two this morning. A friend of mine was in jail yesterday but is out today. I don't understand how they got my number if it is in fact a scam. Pretty weird coincidence.

i got the same text 23333 and got charged twice i called 18666262823 and canceld they said they would send me confermation to my email!!i hope it works

This number called me several times..

I just received a call from this number.  It was a recording asking if I wanted to accept a call from a county jail.  I hung up before it went any further.  After I thought about it a bit it became weirder because I use Vonage and you cannot accept collect calls on Vonage.  Must be some kind of scam.

I just received a call from this number today and it said that it was disconnected when I called back as well.  Is there something that we can do about this, have anyone had a resolution.

I work at a public defenders law office, so I'm always getting collect calls from detention facilities. I received a several calls from this number; they call came through a line whose number we don't give out. The line got disconnected each time. When I called back, it said the number was not in service.

I got a call from "603-2836" and it said "Hello, this is Sprint, your wireless telephone provider, it's urgent that you return this call at 1-800-808-1336, thank you."  Of course, I called since Sprint is my provider and I had just made a large payment (late) and I was concerned.  I got the same voice recording to "press Y" and a text would be sent to me...I didn't even press Y and a text had shown up on my phone.  I check out the text from 233-33 and read the message "Reply Y now to get the info on the # you are trying to reach.  Locator Srvc $9.99/month+std msg feees for 20 Lookups/month.  Support/Terms?  www.smsvw.com"  Jerks...I'm waiting to see if I have any charges even though I have unlimited texts.

Is there some kind of Better Business Bureau these folks can be reported?  This is the FIRST time I've had a solicitation on my cell.
