- BobYes, I did get a call from this number and just contacted my bank. Their security department called me back and it is a legitimate fraud alert. Some company or person from another state did try and put some money through on my card. I now have to get new cards.
- Anonym| 1 replyIt's ligit. My credit card got hacked and the perp tried to buy a bunch if stuff from iTunes. Card activity is now blocked and I'm sitting here waiting for a new card.
- ArnoldGot the call yesterday. Glad I answered. Initial voice prompts inquired about a possible fraudulent charge. Pressing corresponding numbers on the telephone keypad to answer if you could validate the charge; not validate the charge; or if you weren't sure of the charge. If you weren't sure or if you didn't validate the charge you were handed over to an agent or representative of, in this case, the San Diego Credit Union. The representative answered my questions regarding the amount; (which was a repeat of the initial voice prompt) the location; (also announced in the initial voice prompt) and the company where the charge was made (not addressed in the initial voice prompt). If things didn't match up, (the charge not being made by you, etc.) there would be a temporary suspension in the use of the particular card. The representative DID NOT make inquiries regarding numbers on my card and the suspension on it was cancelled.
Too bad the bad toll free callers make the good ones look suspicious. By the way, I get those annoying ones from AT&T where you hear music at the beginning, too. I hang up as soon as I hear the music.- Caller: Card Services investigation San Diego Co. Cred, Union

- EileenGot a call and was advised to call number- got a computer asking for last six digits of my card- they had four. I DID NOT- input my card number- I feel if this is legit- why am I talking to a computer? At least have a prompt to key in a # to access a LIVE person!!!!!! Its just as easy to say or leave a msg saying this Number is legit on this board. I accessed my account via a secure web site got my visa Phone number and Stopped ALL activity on this account till I can reach my Bank on Monday. This call was made on saturday during NON banking hours..which Im sure is good for me to know if its actually a real issue. Until then the card is closed and there is no access for ANYONE to make purchases. Srsly if this is a real Company that is partnered with my Bank...send me to a Live body, who has a clue as to why I was called? Thank You

- L. in Southern California replies to I agree| 1 replyYes, this is a card servicing company used by my credit union. They were seeking to verify several recent / unusual charges. Instead of using the automated system, I spoke with a very professional person who asked for only enough information to verify that I am the account holder. Last digits of card, last digits of SS #.
She had all the info on the purchases, and the whole process just took a couple minutes to discuss whether they were my legitimate charges or not. In this case, I appreciate them looking out for me. - AngieThis company is legit. I received call yesterday and they left a message. I listened to the message and called my credit union. They assured me that they do use this company to track any odd charges. I then called back the number and just chose to speak directly to a live person. The woman I talked to was very friendly. She only asked me for my phone number and she did not ask me for any accounts, SSN or any other private information. She then went over the charges that were made fradulently. After seeing some of the posts that this is a scam- I wanted to say that this is not!

- puppyluv06I found this forumn interesting since my bank has it's own fraud department but there are multiple ones listed here. I got a call for my husband's bank card but couldn't get them to answer my questions because it was his card even though I am on the account and they were snotty which was very suspicious because the people at my bank are really nice. After I hung up I called the real Ascentra credit union and there was no fraudulent information to verify, but they did take down the phone number that called me. If this number calls DO NOT give any info hang up and call your actual bank, they will tell you if there really is suspicious activity. If you give this people any info I can guarantee there will be fraudulent activity

- aka O.G.this is the 3rd call I have not answered from this number 866-518-0213. I have no idea who this is.
- waryGot call from this #, and hung up before message. Later decided to call them since it stated "toll free", no other identifier. They asked me for my credit card #, and I wouldn't give it to them, but they did say they worked for my Credit Union, correct one, and were checking on a declined charge. Told them I'd check with my Credit Union myself, and did so. They verified this company was legit, and a fraudulent charge had been attempted on my credit card, but had been declined.
Thank you, that someone was on the ball!- Caller: Toll Free

- veeNumber is legit. i called them back and spoke with a rep. she went over 3 fraudulent charges that all happened yesterday. one for $7. and two walmart.com charges, one for 400 and the other for 500. She went ahead and cancelled my card for me.

- ToddSuspicious at first ,called the number 866-518-0213 that was on my caller I.D. on my phone . a automated voice was wanting the last 6 numbers on my card . I hung up and called my credit union . They patched me through to their fraud monitoring company .which isn't part of my credit union. When I got ahold of the female rep I asked her if the 866 # was theirs . She verified that it was ,so we proceeded with her verifying that I was the card holder, and that the transaction actually came from me . I verified it was and she sent it through as being ok. Nice to know someone is out there looking for fraudulent purchases . Sometimes a little inconvenience is worth piece of mind. Also very helpful and professional
- Doesn't matterI find it rather interesting that everyone who has received the call and followed through with the bank/credit union have been told it's fraudulent but obvious employees of this agency insist they are real. You should never have to provide ANY information to someone who is legitimately monitoring fraud of your credit card. They would have ALL information including your past charges and should be reciting all of that information to you. In addition, if it was a legitimate fraud issue, why would a real human not be calling? My debit card was stolen a while back and they shut down the card, period, before I even knew the card was gone and a human notified me.
- MonicaI got a call today, but no message was left. I googled and found this site, and called my bank's card services directly. They verified the system had called and told me the questioned charge - an invalid PIN attempt - I had input the wrong number today when buying gas.

- NitinIts legit. Got a call from this number since I had booked international air ticket using my credit card. They thought it might be a fraudulent activity. So wanted to verify if an authorized card holder approved such transaction. In this process of verification, they did not ask me my credit card number or account number that may lead to fraudulent.
