- KatelynAnswer it or call it back, it's not a scam. It just means your credit card/debit company froze your card as a precaution because some odd charges came up. They just need to confirm it was you and not some hacker. If you don't answer or call back your card won't work til you do. Again, not a scam......
- Caller: Credit Union
- BobWent to verify that they were working on behalf of my credit union. Credit union could not verify who they were and how they got my credit union info that had had. They are fishing for information per the credit union. Don't fall for the scam.
- Caller: Account services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Enough Already!| 1 replyReceived a call Thursday 12-31-15 and did not recognize this number so I let it go to voicemail.
It said they were "Fraud Services" calling on behalf of my financial institution and to call regarding some suspicious charges on my credit card.
It sounded pretty phishy and when I looked the number up here it seems 50/50 on whether it's a scam or legitimate. So I tried to call my Credit Union and because it was New Year's Eve they would be closed for 2 days.
So this morning I call my credit union and it was legitimate. The clerk told me my visa debit card tried to be used in Russia for $215.00. Great. They did not let it go through thank God.
I can't stress please don't use your visa debit for anything other than ATM withdrawals. Only because it comes straight out of your checking and if that would have gone through I would have been screwed for 2 days not being able to get a hold of anyone.
I have not used it for purchases in several months because I have just started using my credit card to pay my monthly bills then just pay the balance off every month. That way the crooks will have access to my credit card not my "cash" in my debit card.
Ugh. I hope this helps someone. I was a nervous wreck for two days and thought I should post my story here. If you still don't trust this phone number call your bank or credit union on the number listed on the back if your card immediately.- Caller: Fraud Detection Services
- dieter replies to TMGAre you a scammer working for this generic named "Members Group"...you sound fishy.
- dieter replies to Erin| 2 repliesAre you a scammer?
- qwerty replies to dieter| 1 replyAre you aware you're replying to five and a half year old posts?
- Bogus call replies to Enough Already! They called me twice about my VISA card ending in 7774 that was a concern to them about potential fraud......that's funny....I don't even have a VISA....Hmmmm. They knew my full name and the name of my credit union, but the red flag was that I don't have a visa. Beware!!!
- RaptureJust like last time Pay-Pal was involved this number called. Hmm how many scammers use toll free call for their name, a lot. Do not call number back as it is a scammmmmmmmm.
- Caller: toll free call?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Keith replies to whyileHappened yesterday and today. Called trying to verify transactions for a card that was canceled a year ago, transferred me and I hung up. Called today but I didn't pick up.
- Keith replies to qwertyYep, but they're still calling so maybe somebody will be helped.
- Jnet replies to WDSM IA| 1 replyThis is a total scam. Called me about a credit union I don't belong to for a card I don't have. The only connection I have to that credit union is my area code but I don't live in that areach and haven't for a decade. So they're probably just robo dialing area codes for various credit unions looking for suckers. Don't be one. Call your bank directly.
- JimThey are a fraud. Give them no information.
- aTMG is a company that does fraud monitoring and a number of other services for credit unions all across the country. If you are unsure of who they are, they will just tell you to contact the number on the back of your card so you can verify who they are with your financial institution. It seriously makes me laugh how many people think this is a scam.
- WaltThis seems to be a legit CC fraud detection service used by various CC issuing institutions, e.g., Credit Unions.
- Rob replies to JnetIt's not a scam. I called my credit union and said I got a suspicious, automated phone call. My credit union read off the phone number that called me and said that is their card services company.
- Frances Sekela@ 11:34am received a call from an Emily stating that there was a problem with my credit card
- Caller: Just said Emily Something about credit card services
- AmyThis is a legit number. They called due to fraudulent activity on my card. I was hesitant, so I called my bank and the charges were legit.

- DsdNOT FRAUD, however, call your bank to verify anyhow. I got a call from this number saying my card was compromised. I called my Credit Union to be sure, and they confirmed. Generally though, be skeptical of third party calls like this.
