Guess what-means nothing since such numbers can be spoofed and you coming here when you KNOW who the caller was just makes it look suspicious

Received a call from this company and they wanted ALL my personal information to determine if a charge on my credit card was fraudulant. Asking for too much and complete numbers.  Told me they "worked" for my credit union, but when I said I wasn't comfortable giving all that information they said, fine...call your credit union. When I did the credit union said ignore it.

I received a call from this "card services" number asking me to verify recent credit card transactions. I tend to err on the side of caution. Lots of people are claiming this is a scam number. I physically went into my credit union and asked whether they use another number (other than the one on the back of my card for fraud detection), they told me yes. When I asked them for the number they use, this was the one they supplied me with. This is totally legit, I had made some overseas purchases and they just want to verify I made them.

Why would you look up the number if you already know who called you? And what was a valid call for you won't necessarily be for someone else since scammers spoof legitimate numbers all the time.
Never give a random caller personal information of any sort, no matter who they claim to be. Instead, hang up and call a known number for whomever they're claiming to be,  such as the number on ther back of your card.

I received call from this #. I let it go to voice mail and then checked that voicemail. It said it was from the Fraud department from my credit union and they needed to verify some recent transactions. I then called my Credit Union directly and confirmed that there indeed was some suspicious transactions, all declined, to review. Thus, my card was cut off and they are issuing a new one. This phone call was completely valid. And yes, whomever you talk to, either at this number or the actual merchant number will ask for lots of verification information, but none that exposes completely your private info.

Received an e-mail purportedly from my credit union me to confirm some charges. In fact the charges were legit, but when I separately e-mailed the fraud department of my credit union to confirm, they stated that they never sent e-mails to confirm charges, and asked me to forward the e-mail to them to investigate. Despite the the fraudulent posturing by shills on this page, this is undoubtedly a scam/fraud, and should be reported as such. Do not give them any information, and report them immediately to your financial institution and law enforcement authorities.

Call your credit union first if you are ever suspicious of a phone call regarding your credit card. That being said I called my credit union and they confirmed that this number was the number of a service they use to monitor fraudulent activity on their cards.

This is a legit call from a company subcontracted by my Credit Union, calling to confirm if recent charges on my card are valid or not.  If I hadn't called them back there was a risk of my card getting blocked and charges rejected (kids sports registration in my case!)  I recommend calling back.

Received a text (instead of a phone call that I've received before) saying fradulent activity was detected on my credit card. "Fraud Alert.  Please review the following transactions for the acct ending in xxxx. <details removed>. If this is fraudulent, please call customer service at 1-866-518-0213." Instead of callng that number I called my bank and they referred me to Card Services. This way I knew I could trust the people I was talking to. Good thing, since they asked for my account number and other identifying info. They prevented over $1000 of fraud charges in Ireland. Call your bank and ask for the security department if you get a notice from Card Services that there has been fraudulent use of your credit card.

What kind of FRAUD ALERT company would advise you to give a caller your last SIX (6) numbers of your credit card?  They must be nuts to expect any one with any sense to provide them.   For there information the number is as long as it is for a reason. The fewer numbers a hacker has to rotate through the easier it is to break.  And to top it all off, they don't even give a call back number.  If I ever really get a real fraud attempt and experience a loss  I will press charges for improper notification.

Left a msg.  They stated the call was in regard to suspicious Visa activity.  Message also stated my husband's name, the name of his credit union, and last 4 digits of his card.  Sounds legit but will warn him to be cautious.

Never trust a random caller to be who they claim and never give them any personal information. Instead, if you get a call such as this, call the number on the back of your card.
