These people have been calling me 10 to 12 times a week it not more saying they need to talk to my father in regards to an unpaid dental bill from 2010.  I have told them over and over and over that m dad passed away in 2004 and that if he was there and if he does come again to PLEASE call me no matter what time of day or night because I would give anything to see my day again.  They basically called me a liar and said he was still alive I told them I would send them a copy of his death certificate but they said anybody can make a copy of a death certificate.  Well I know for a fact my father passed away on 1/26/2004 because he died in my arms.  This upsets me so much when they continue on and on about how I am lying about this.  To me if someone did lie about something like this they truly would have to mentally ill and probably would have medical expenses but accusing me making this up was so upsetting if I could have called through the phone I would have.  I truly believe in Karma and can not wait for her day to come.

the real problem is they won't accept payment they want the whole thing in full. And some employers will fire you for personal calls then you won't be able to even send payments

This company is apparently responsible for repeated violations of debt collection law. In such cases, reporting to your state attorney generally is the first step.

People are receiving calls for debts that are non-existent, belong to someone else, have been paid, discharged in bankruptcy or the SOL has expired...

    Thanks for playing.

Sounded like Indian scammers... guy had an accent. He kept asking for someone who is not at this number, saying only that "I'm with MRS" and he started raising his voice and getting angry when I asked him what his company does. Finally, he hung up on me after getting too frustrated. I was super calm and just asking him what he did and why he was looking for that person...

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

most debts are written off after 7 years, then are sold to bottom feeding collection companies for pennies on the dollar. If you even pick up the phone and immediately hang up this can be counted as a response to the debt and go back on your credit report for another 7 years!

A, that is untrue UNLESS the government has levied a lien against you. B, that's HIGHLY unlikely unless you owe over $10,000
