- Cynthia replies to TerryI can appreciate that that is your job however my husband and I received the note on the door hanger yesterday and 1 the phone number was incorrect we tried calling it and it was a number that had been disconnected 2 I it was written in Spanish even though my husband speaks Spanish he does not read Spanish neither do I plus we're going through a loan modification program currently so why would someone want to hang something on our door. Plus they didn't bother to knock
- bufgirlI received one of the door hangers during the night, this is very scary. I came home around 8pm and there was no hanger and at 7am when I got my paper it was there. I think I will call the police on this one.
- K_LaRayne| 1 replyWe got one of these on the door today. CitiMortgage is a joke! They sent us a letter saying we were in default. What?! When we called, they were like "Oh, that's strange.." because all the payments had been made on time. Took them 6 months to straighten out their mess and WE had to pay $300 in fees or they would make sure it was in default. All taken care of two weeks ago and now we get this on the door?! Stupid, stupid company. So wasteful paying people to go around putting useless notices on doors.
- Tamianth replies to K_LaRayneYou can file complaints on them, FTC & CFB..

http://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/ - Larry| 1 replyI got a regular white envelope with a crooked piece of hand cut paper inside. Handwritten/copied. No mention of Citibank. Just a phone number (the one reported). If its real, why wouldn't it be sent on a proper piece of Citibank correspondence? No one knows what's real or not. They have all our info so there's no need to leave handwritten junk on the doorstep.
- Larry replies to LarryAfter talking to an attorney, a real estate agent and an experienced contractor, I realized any legitimate mortgage conversation must be done via registered mail requiring your signature, not a note left on your doorstep! Duh!
- Quincy WatsonJust called 1-866-940-5787 CitiMortgage.....the rep said they send the envelopes out to different homes to make sure the house is not abandoned. So I guess it's legit.
- Caller: CitiMorgage
- PatriotI got one of these today. They didn't ring the bell. But my neighbor saw the guy. Some darkie. He took his photo and a photo of his license plate. Ran it through a friend at the DMV. We now know where this boy lives. This is a restricted neighborhood and we don't allow those types here. I called the number. It is Citi but their call center in the Phillipines. According to them Citi quit servicing my loan in 2010. That is good news so I guess I don't need to send any more payments.
- Caller: Citi
- Call type: Debt collector
- Cindy replies to RRTXThis is more [***] and was delivered in an unmarked envelope taped and marked confidential spelled like a child, had to make corrections. We do not have a mortgage with Citibank, and he was dropping these off randomly! Wish I had been home, I would have tried to hold him and call the police, my husband was here and just blew it OFF!
- Lee SlaterJust had this dropped on my front porch, not even on the storm door??!! No one knocked on door, as my wife was home, upstairs, nobody knocked or rang doorbell. No name of person or company, just this number 866-940-5787. We are negotiating a loan modification through CitiMortgage, have emails, letters, phone calls and faxed info and messages, for many, many months now, asking over and over for same information financial & bank statements each successive month----got fed up with constant delay tactics and we did finally hire an attorney, as felt we were just getting the bum's rush, and purposefully delayed--in reaching an agreement, for a new modified loan, which the citibank reps' (several different ones) told us we more than qualified for!!!! I think it is all a delay tactic, and the home owners are left hopeful, but falling farther behind in payments--which is what the bank seems to want, then they can try to foreclose on your property. Basically shove you out of your home, the whole while you are negotiating and trying to meet their requirements, sending same information to their rep's (and they seem to change the rep's several times over the many months we've tried to get the modification). Our attorney has done all he can to help us legally, but even he seems stomped as to why, the reps's are deliberately misleading us as to when the modification will begin. Even once in court even the judge and our attorney could not figure out why all the delays, and citibank's attorney didn't even seem to have all the info on our modification, and this had been going on for many months, it's like one part of CitiMortgage/Bank doesn't know what the other departments are doing with clients/homeowners. We have changed/adjusted up our current income and can now make the payments, but still they haven't sent the approval papers or the new payment coupons, they said would be mailed to us?! Not sure where to even begin sending payments to citimortgage. The attorney told us to hold off on sending payments until we got the revised/modified payment plan. So far nothing more positive has been sent, and our phone calls not returned. Faxed them so many times, so we do have a long paper trail to prove we've been trying to comply with all their repeated requests, sent them all same info many times over! This seems a very shady way of doing business! Scare tactics and all. Beyond frustrated with CitiMortgage and way they have handled this, apparently we aren't the only ones being put through this. We have contacted our state senator and state rep's to see if they can not do something to make citibank & mortgage company handle their clients/homeowners in a more upfront and truthful manner. Making arrangements that they have no intentions of following through on with each homeowner. Each case and situation should be handled fairly and within a reasonable amount of time, not dragging this out indefinitely, putting more stress on homeowners. Went to court again--in mid July 2014, and hoped our case would be resolved in our favor. Nothing since then, so we are left in limbo. So we must make an appointment with our attorney, and again contact our government representatives, and see if they can't get results!
- Not listeningDoor knob hanger telling to call the 8669405787,number regarding mortgage. Funny thing is. No mortgage on the house. Citi or not whatever it is it is a scam
- maydaycolorado replies to Scottwell that is very interesting...I do not have a mortgage with Citibank nor am I behind in my payments. I get these periodically on my door...saying please call Citi. I have never had any account with Citi. I have no debt. I live in a deed restricted community that does not allow soliciting or any random vendors...I just throw them away...very annoying!
- maydaycolorado replies to Its about timei have never dealt with any division of Citi...my mortgage is current with another mortgage lender...definitely NOT associated with CITI and I have no debt...explain why I am getting these notices!
- maydaycolorado replies to Envelope delivery guyseriously? I don't have my mortgage with any entity involved with CITI! I am totally current with my mortgage...never late...and am debt free...explain why I am getting these notices!
- Totally not legitWoman came to the door with a confidential notice to contact my loan servicer. Number is for Citi Mortgage. They have no record of my name or property address nor do we have a mortgage through them. The representative had a similar call earlier, she was reporting it to her supervisor. Disgruntled customer maybe?
- Caller: Citi Mortgage

- wellsfargosmother replies to johnHey John,
Sounds like your work for JP Morgan or maybe your the "door knocker-sign hanger" that is envious of anyone who actually owns a home that you can only dream about cause your a "door knocker - sign hanger" for any of the 5 Big Fraudulent Banks. - Michael CoranI received one of these today as well and it is absolutely legit from CitiMortgage. I called the number and after putting in my information, I was connected to my homeowner support specialist. She basically told me that they do this to anyone who is behind on their mortgage to get people to call in and see what options are available to them.
It just seems that the different departments do not talk to each other since I am already working with them and have an active repayment agreement after the screwed me over while applying for a modification. She said since I am current with that, there is nothing further that I need to do. It is only if you are behind on your mortgage and are not currently working with them to resolve it.- Caller: Citimortgage
- Call type: Debt collector
- homeownerThis is a scam. Beware. Ive gotten a few of these and never called, i called today just to see. It is Cit Mortgage, but why would they even want anything to do with me since i don't have a mortgage?
