A relative of mine received the same call. They stated they were looking for me...  I returned the call, advised them that the call was being recorded after the first few seconds of the call and the call immediately took a turn..  He became nice!  He stated the call was an attempt to collect a CC debt from Chase bank. I advised have never had a Chase card AND I just financed a $55,000 Audi via Chase. He said thank you very much, have a good day...  

I also tried to find the Law Firm that they were claiming to be from, Frederick, Goldstein & Zoe Nothing, but other complaints...

i received a call from Investigator micheals(later told that she was a Secretary). a man named Russell(short for a--hole)Kept asking me to verify my social security# i wouldnt. He threatened me and said "I was walking a thin line and about to get myself in BIg legal trouble" i told him "DONT threaten me" he replied "SHUT UP" and hung up on me. Sounds pretty professional to me!!!  NOT!!!  this was also a firm??? named fredricks,goldstein roe..

I received the same call. Luckily, I did not recall having the credit card they mentioned. They said Citibank Visa to me. I went home, checked my credit report, nothing about it. They called my brother's wife's brother's ex-wife, whom I have never met. My bro called and told me, then researched like crazy. Thank goodness. My dad called them back and recorded, they got off the phone. I called back and they continued to try to talk me into giving them some info. I am a school teacher, and he really knew how to try to get at a person: first threats about executing orders giving them a bond to resolve the issue, then oh, i can break down your payments. Do you need them broke down more? I can handle that. Then I asked for the spelling of the name of the lawyers office and where they were located. He got off the phone quickly after that.

Called MY father-in-law and brother-in-law for MY sister! They are not even related in ANY way!

investigator SCOTT was looking for my sister said she was going to file a complaint against her and was pursuing charges,she did not say what type of charges or for what, invs.SCOTT said she was going to go after my sisters home and or business, which she has niether one!! This company called from 1-866-949-9484 extension 134 with the name Frederick Goldstein and Zoe to my client's mother, telling her they had a summons for my client in Bexar County.  She was suspicious because they mispronounced the name "Bexar" and it seemed unusual they didn't say "San Antonio, Texas" which I think an American would do.  I called three times, was hung up each time I challenged them.  I was told that there was a case number in court, and when I asked which court, I was told that it was in "prelitigation and this was an opportunity to settle this debt before suit was filed."  I asked when the debt was incurred, was told 1997.  I proceeded to tell the individual that it was illegal in Texas to collect on a debt over four years past due.  She hung up on me too, saying, we'll see you in court.  This is obviously a scam intent on preying on people who are in economic distress.  Its very disturbing because my client really isn't a computer person--he is not on any social networks.  Apparently someone has access to stolen credit information.  I asked if they were a law firm and was told "no" and when I asked if they were a collection agency they also said "no."  If you get this call, contact your state Attorney General Consumer Fraud office.

This is [***], they called for my mother and threaten a "summons will be issued". As an attorney, I knew this was a load of crap. Please call your attorney general's office if you get this type of call. It is either A. a fraudulent identity theft attempt or B. a b.s. attempt to collect a debt of some kind. Many states have very specific rules about debt collection and there are federal laws that come into play with interstate commerce.

DO NOT EVER GIVE YOUR SSN# OUT TO ANYONE ON THE PHONE!

I received multiple threatening phones calls from them, as did 4 of my relatives.  They impersonated being with my county's summons department.  I looked up their number on-line and then called & asked for them to spell their company's name.  When I asked for which state they were in, they refused.  Same with their address.  They got vicious with the address, started screaming at me and then hung up.   Then, I just happened to receive a fax from them (solving my mystery).  It had all their company info on it - which is why I am sharing.

This is an aggressive collection agency that buys old debts from credit card company's, etc. and then tries to collect on them after the statuatory credit reporting time (7 years).  They are known to call at any hour of the day and leave threatening voice mails and messages which threaten legal action, summons, jail, supboenas, reporting to the district attorney, etc.  They often say you must call back w/in 24-48 hours or they will issue a summons, etc.  They impersonate being investigators with county summons departments, sherriffs, etc.

If 7 years has passed since you owed on your debt, they cannot affect your credit score or report to bureaus on you.  If they have dispute it with your credit bureau.  Regardless, and even if 7 years has not passed, report these people to the FCC as well as the attorney general of the state of New York (where they have jurisdiction).  You can search out their websites on-line (ie fcc complaints).  I personally filed complaints against them this month.  They are breaking the law and victimizing people with their collection tactics.

Called looking for my Brother,  same 24hr threat.
My Wife and i did research them before we let my brother call..
so what we did was call them up and ask stupid questions on one call
next call we called and asked for website info and tax id and said we were recording the call.  we did ask for the invesigator who called and of course was not there.  Then we asked for his supervisor.  At that point we knew it was a call center.  They called other relatives as well..

It's a scam.  Left message around 4 AM that they were going to prosecute my brother if I didn't respond within 24 hours.

I got a phone call form this firm the first part of pril 2009.  They track me down at my sister in laws phone.  How the got the number I do not know.  They also threaten me with a court summons, they were going to put a lein on my home.  Please someone give me guidance on this they even told me that I contacted my lawyer that I would end up right back to them.

My mom got a call about my daughter!!! (I am 42, think I can handle calls about my daughter myself) And my daughter is only 17, they stated that they a claim number and wanted to know the name of the attorney representing her. Again she is 17, I looked the number up on the internet and thankfully you all already complained about it, letting me realize this is a call. Also they misrepresented themselves as Lowry County police department to. This is definitely a scam.. Just want to know what I can do about these people NOW!!!

Call them and have a blast I am and it is great you can call and just yell at them and let all your anger out on them, it is GREAT!!!!!

These people called saying they had a legal case against my husband, they did not even have a docket number or accurate info. The debt was from...you ready 11 years ago.

one of my elderly relatives got a call from this # last night, was told a warrent was to be issued and she owed 1800.00 on a credit card from 13 years ago but they would settle for 500.00. wanted all her banking info. this is a scam!!!! she had to close all her bank accts to keep them from getting her money. one of the callers said they were James Kelly a citation officer.
