- stupidcollectorsI have received a couple calls now from this firm looking for my daughter in law. My daughter in law called after the 1st message and said they were rude, yelling at her and threatened her. they are trying to collect on a debt that is 10 years old. I spoke with Ms Zoe today and she was rude and threatened that she better call them or it would cost her more than 3K. I told her she was calling on a debt over 10 years old and not collectable. she informed me that they were NOT a collection agency and would be filing a civil suit. She also told me that since I told her over 10 year old that I knew where my daughter in law was and if I did not tell her to call that they would come after me. give me a break. I filed a complaint with the FTC right away.
I also told my son and daughter in law if they do talk to them to tell them they are recording thanks to all the information posted here.

- JennFredrick Goldstein and Zoe called my Sister mother and Ex-sister in law who I have not seen in 15+yrs. How they found them and not me is odd. They have never called me directly. The first time I called back, they told me it seemed like a mistake I owed $2600 for a loan back in 2000 that I have never heard of let alone taken out a loan! He told me he would check into it and if I did not hear from him in 24hrs forget about it, I asked him to call me back AT WORK gave him the # and said I worked for Attorneys I would have them look into it. 2 Months later someone leaves a message at my ex-sister in laws who I don't even know her # or anything and saiys that they have a summons for my arrest. Call them back again and said i THOUGHT THIS WAS TAKEN CARE OF, He had no idea what I was taling about told me I could pay 700. and be done with it but wouldn't give me any loan info. So I told him I guess I'll just see you in court and he hung up! Phone # was 866-949-9431 ext 180 - No name

- Ace replies to JABYou don't complain to the FCC. You contact the FTC (available on-line) and contact your State's Attorney General's Office anf file with them. I have resolved similar problems this way. The more complaints that the FTC gets the worse it is for the collections agency.
- in2foodJust got a call(message) looking for my Brother. Not too surprising since he is kind of a deadbeat. She did try the 24 hour issuing a warrant ploy. Funny, she kind of mumbled and mispronounced the county's name. She got it right the second time. I may call back and try to get them to not call here again since I have not seen him in 2 years and have no idea how to contact him.

- ccThis outfit, Frederick, Goldstein, & Zoe, will not give me documentation. They are demanding that I send $3,000 to them without any paperwork to verify that I even owe this money. Supposedly, the sheriff's will be at my door tomorrow morning with a warrant for my address. How do I make a complaint? This is harassment.

- tgd-SCMy mother in-law received a phone call asking for me, said the law was on the way and I needed to call the ASAP. They also left a message at my daughter's home. When I called them back they could not find my name they then asked for my husband's name. They asked my if his last 4 digits of his SSN was ****, I told them no, they said they may have made a mistake. They then hung up on me. I listened to the recording at my daughter's then called them back, got a different person. I asked them how they got the numbers they called, they would not tell me. Finally a man got on the phone I asked him what info they had on my husband gave them the case number and it turned out to be some other woman. I am reporting them they really upset my mother in-law. They were very rude. They also never stated what the summons was for.
- yotieThey left a very disturbing message for me and said they had a warrant out for my arrest.. even named the county I live in.. didn't say who they were or what the alleged warrant was for.. just that I had to call within 24 hours or else. I just filed with the FCC.
These people are real jerks. - rnhlbCalled stating a relative had a case and had 24 hours to call or a summons would be issued

- FDCPA expert replies to redWhenever you get a collection call from any debt collector, always tell them that you do not take phone calls like these and ask them to put it in writing so that you can verify the debt, which is your legal right under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which you can say to them. You can also tell them that, pursuant to this Act, they have to stop contacting you until they send you the information or verification.
If they tell you anything contrary to this or any of your other rights under the FDCPA, like if they say if you contact a lawyer you will end up back to them, this is wrong. In fact, once they know you have a lawyer, they are to immediately stop contacting you and must only call your layer. - FDCPA expert replies to BubbaIt's not the FCC you file with which is the Federal Communications Commission. Instead, you file at the FTC, the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov
- no uncle hereThis number just called & claimed my husband's uncle left our number as an emergency contact number. We don't even had communication with the uncle & I seriously doubts he even knows our number. He left a number & case number, claiming a summons had been issued & if uncle doesn't respond in 24 hours...blah, blah, blah

- Dee-DeeThey left a voicemail message on my mother-in-law's phone stating if I did not contact them in 24 hours, they would issue a summons for my arrest. I called and the secretary transferred me to a guy who said his name was Tom Harriss,he then told me I had a balance of over $1700 with First USA Visa and with interest it was now over $3000. I then told him I did not open an account with First USA in 2001 and requested more information, after acting like he was going through my file he asked if I plan on taking care of the matter. When I told him I did not have the account he is talking about he became rude. I then told him that I would not allow him to be rude to me and I knew my rights he then hung up. Later when my husband got home, I called back asked to speak to a supervisior, I'm sure it was the same guy as before got on the phone (trying to change the sound of his voice) and stated he was the senior partner and began to be rude, my husband then took the phone and began listening to him, after hearing him go off, my husband went off on him. My husband told him that He would not allow him to talk to me like that, and that if he really was a lawyer he was stupid because he does not know the law. I will be filing a complaint. They should not be calling decent people harrassing them. This must stop.

- KASame kind of call. Very rude , strong-arm tactics. Knew my SSN#!!
Wouldn't answer any of my questions but told ME, "Here's what we're gonna do"......
Called my sister-in-law's husband's parents whom I have NEVER met! Threatened to have me served through my local County District Court. Threatening that I will be served by a sheriff soon. Served for what? They wouldn't tell me...I kept asking who was disputing what? They said "I" was disputing...kept repeating my name over and over.
This is terroristic harassment. Who do I report to to get them kicked out of our country?

- Laurie replies to patrick| 2 repliesI've gotten two calls from these people. They are trying to collect on a Providian debt I had discharged in bankruptcy years ago. The woman tried to tell me that since they now own the debt, they can sue me for it in spite of the bankruptcy. I know this is total BS, plus the debt would be beyond the seven years anyway. I got in touch with my bankruptcy attorney, and he said if they call again, we would file a claim against with bankruptcy court since they violated the permanent stay. Trying to collect on a discharged debt is a big violation.
I have a recorder ready on my phone, so if they call again, I plan on letting them talk themselves into a hole. Also, I filed an online complaint with the FTC. - LaurieJust found this online. http://dockets.justia.com/docket/court-paedce ... case_id-303341/ Looks like someone sued them in PA yesterday. Hope the plaintiff wins - probably will considering what this collection agency pulls.
