They have had a lawsuit filed against them by the NY State Attorney General.

They were playing recordings of calls them made on the radio this morning. They may have the clips up later today or tomorrow:

To the obvious employee above, read this quote from the article:
"The investigation revealed that collectors regularly demanded payment for non-existent debts or substantially inflated the amount owed on an actual debt"

In other words, in many cases there was no debt.  

Read the article and you will see the name calling that these fake creditors engaged in.   It is disgusting.

Said they were from the office of SGB. And that they were looking for some relative that we don't even know of existing. Gentleman said we were listed as first contact under a ssn search. There is no one we know by the name they are looking for. I told them that if they called me again, I'd be pressing charges- the gentleman told me he didn't have to stand for my threats (cause he wasn't listening to me tell him I don't know the person he's looking for) and hung up on me.

Husband is now talking with the company and after reading the posts of others, the SGB is FGV. I could not understand either of the people that left messages on my Comcast phone number.

This is the owner, in our attempt to reduce complaints, I have taken a proactive approach, the company is FGZ, our number is the same, I agree that if you make over two million calls you will have complaints, we are working to curb the complaints to zero, but keep in mind our job is to collect these outstanding accounts, and will continue to do so.

Just got another call from the same company saying they are trying to collect from year 2000... Are they for real!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you also for the posts... I feel better

Thank you so much for this info.  They claimed to be with my county's supreme court.  And gave me a case number.  I dont owe anybody in the state of GA!  So I knew it was just them trying to collect on something that has to be too old to remember.  Once again thank you for all the info!!

This is a collection agency harassing me over someone who was my ex-stepmother from TWELVE YEARS AGO!!!  I have not seen or talked to her in TWELVE YEARS, I repeat myself over and over that I do not see her or talk to her, I have no contact and she is my fater's EX WIFE so they DO NOT Speak??!!??  These calls are harassing and RUDE!!  # TO Call back to was 877-692-4500 and I asked her to remove my # and she said No, not until I give her a contact #???  HELLO... I have not been in contact with the subject for TWELVE YEARS??!!?

They just called my father's work (who knows how they got the phone number) and said it was the local Courthouse and they were going to be putting a warrant out.

They also located my mother, and said I would be arrested.  My mom of course freaked out and made me call them.  I talked to someone who was extremely rude!  They kept telling me to "acknowledge the debt" I said I would never do that unless I get something in writing.  All I got was an email saying that I owed over $1000 to Radio Shack.  When I emailed back saying that I wanted an official statement from Radio Shack they never got back to me and never called again.

DO NOT GET SUCKERED IN BY THEM!

A young man identifying himself as Edward Smith called looking for a friend of mine, telling me that if I didn't have my friend call him in 48 hours, the sheriff of Davidson County, TN would serve a warrant on my friend.  I contacted my friend, who called the number, and Mr. Smith hung up on him twice.  This is an annoying scam

Andre Grant called from this number a few days ago, left a message, told me I would be facing legal action in a case filed in a county in my state I've never even been to.  This is the second call I've received from this "company."  I really think it's an ID theft scam, because they can really get you worked up if you call them back.  They will mention your last name and the last 4 digits of a social security number.  If you're really angry or worked up, you might blurt out your social security number.  Everyone checking this, be careful!  And thanks to all previous posters; I don't feel so alone!

They're back!!!!!  I was getting calls back in July and they stopped for awhile .   Now they started calling again.  Same story, same threats as everyone else.  I keep track of the dates and times and have recorded some of there messages off my answering machine.  I REFUSE to reply to these scammers.  This company was shut down for awhile and THEY have court cases against them for harrasment.  I do not owe anyone any money. Stop trying to scare me into paying you!!!!

Called my ex mother-in-law and friends that are associated with my ex-husband. Say they have a summons for me. They have been very rude and threatening. I can't figure out why they are calling people from my ex-husband's side of the family. They haven't contacted any of my family or friends. Gave a case number to one of our friends, this is a lady who I haven't spoke to in years.
