This number has been calling and claiming to be RBC (Royal Bank of Canada); I have been told by an officer of the Royal Bank that this is not the case yet RBC's facebook page claims the number is legit.  Either a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing or an elaborate scam!  Watch your back.

This number really annoys me!  I've called RBC to confirm wether this number is safe and official.  They told me not and to block this number.

Yes, I’ve received a call from 877-214-5948 also, but I never returned it. Will now block that number.

They just called me today, I didn't answer because I had a recent form of identity theft, please do anything you can to help with this investigation and report it to your anti fraud association ignore their call but please of call the anti fraud hotline and help bring these scammers down

Said it was the RBC concerning a private matter.
They even have the gaul to say it isnt a telemarketing call at the end!

This number called me claiming to be RBC and said it was regarding an important banking issue and to press any key to continue. I pressed 1, and then the recording just said "thank you, goodbye.". Do I have anything to be worried about?

Check for unauthoruzed long distance call from to anywhere in the world - you pressing any number on the key pad provided access to this free service for the caller. contact your phone company. You have been scammed.

This number has been calling me for weeks , for no reason . i have never answered there calls and now i will block , thanks for the info.

I had also go a call from 1-877-214-5948 and thought it was a scam.   I called Royal Bank, and they said it was actually a RBC credit collections.  Turns out I was just overdue on paying my Target RBC mastercard.  Was not a scam.  I did express how it certainy seems like a scam with the computer automated voice and very vague message etc.

I got a call from 877-214-5948 and they said it was my bank. I went to the bank and they said there was no account issues. A senior teller came up and said she had 10 customers with the same issue. They didn't know who it was but put an advertising block on my account.

Number and message are valid.  If you call back you will be promoted to enter "1", wait, enter "1" again to confirm your name, wait and you will then receive the message re your visa account, debit card, etc.

Just got off the phone with an rbc official the number is rbc it is there collections department to clear this matter up

its a scam... all my royal bank accounts are paid and up to date and i still get these calls...ignore them  ! ! !

anyone who says this is a collection issue is part of the scam ! !  ! plain and simple !
