- D replies to Chrisfake. fake. fake. fake. fake. don't fall for this.
- D replies to John Bergerit is not legitimate. this is a billion-dollar bank, if they want to contact you about a banking or credit issue, they will call you with a real person, not an automated message. using an automated message would be a PR nightmare for them during a time when people are already generally unhappy with ALL the major banks. RBC would not want to screw with their customers in this way without hurting themselves badly.
- D replies to brentwhy are you hear on a fraud-detection site claiming the number is real?
- AnneThis is a real, legit call from RBC. I was skeptical at first too, because as we all know there are many scam callers pretending to be RBC. I accidentally forgot to pay one of my credit cards last month and this was reminding me to pay within fourteen days or to let them know if I am having difficulty.

CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD - DanHow can everyone be so lazy to continue calling it a scam after the link from the genuine RBC site others posted says it is used for automated calls. http://www.rbc.com/privacysecurity/ca/alert-automated-call-faq.html
Did someone hack the webpage haha a bunch of damn conspiracy theorists who would rather believe a number is false than pay their damn bills.- Caller: Rbc
- Toats MagoatsIts a SCAM. Call RBC and ask, they say, as I figured, that a PERSON would call you looking to discuss something, never a compute.
- Caller: 1-877-214-5948
- MAccount connected to the previous user of my phone number, she has not updated anyone, so all the debt collectors kept calling me for her
- Caller: RBC collections
- Call type: Debt collector
- LoraeI didn't call the number that was on the message. Instead I called RBC directly. They confirmed the number was their collection department and put me through to them. All my accounts are up to date so it was written off as an incorrect call. My suggestion would be that, if you are sure you're accounts are all in good standing, ignore it. If you're not 100% sure, call RBC directly.
- Caller: Royal Bank of Canada
- Call type: Debt collector
- NickThis # constantly leaves prerecorded messages about a 'personal banking matter', often more than 2 per day, which is obviously spamming!
- Caller: 1-877-214-5948
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Kino replies to BonnieMakes me glad I left them for tangerine. I actually get my money in a day earlier.
- RRLegit. RBC automated call to notify you of a missed payment on a credit card. Nothing more. It asks a security question then lists the last 4 digits of the credit card and the minimum payment required. It gives you a choice to promise you will make the payment within 14 days. Case closed
- Caller: RBC
- Call type: Debt collector
- NKB replies to tinagWhen your credit card is about to expire, they just send you another one. They don't call you to tell you - they just send you a new one.
- NKBThis number called me before XMess and I didn't answer it. I asked my bank rep if it was legit and she said she didn't know but urged me not give out personal information over the phone because they don't ask for that.
They are calling again and this time I called the number back from my work phone. It was an automated message that requested my phone number to verify my account. I keyed in an old phone number I had 20 years ago and after a minute or two, a woman who sounded north american (I only mentioned that because there are a lot of overseas scams) came on the line to ask my first and last name. I said I wanted to know what he call was in reference to before I gave her my name. She said she wouldn't be able to tell me until she pulled up my account after I told her my name.
I just said, "OK, thank you" and I hung up.
If it's urgent, they'll call me back and leave a message.- Caller: Claims to be RBC

- Caller: 877-214-5948
- JamieI receive this call from 1-877-214-5948, I reject the call as I don't recognize the number and says New York. Nobody I know in New York has my cell number, within 30 seconds of rejecting the call 1-631-490-2575 starts calling another call from New York. This has happened several times every time I have rejected the call. I think one is the bait robo computer calling so they can see if your phone # is active. If it is then they proceed to sell it to telemarketers.. Who knows...
