A message was left on my mom's answering machine saying that a complaint was being filed against me if I didn't contact them immediately. I have no idea who these people are or why they would be filing a complaint against me. But what made me mad was the fact that they left the message on my mom's phone and in the message they gave the last 4 digits of my social security #. Is that legal? I thought they couldn't give out any information and especially to leave it on the answering machine of a relative? It seems very unethical.

they keep calling me looking for someone else and i tell them they don't live here but i know them they call when i am not at home and leave messages on my phone i call back and tell them that person doesn't live here and that i am not a message service i asked for them not to call me anymore they said that they can't take my name off this list because i am supposedly a reference on the account but i know that they just looked in the phone book and we are the only one in the book

You can report these calls to your states Attorney General's office. If that doesn't work try The Federal Trade Commission.

I  have  received  calls  from  this  agency  ;  they  threatened  to  contact  my  place  of  employment  and  my  apartment   I  tried to call  them  back  and the  line  is  busy

Not a law firm in any sense of the word. Nothing but a bunch of scam artists according to the FTC and DOJ

Back in March of 2010, I made two installment payments, totaling $524 to Marvel and Assoc., in settlement of an account they claim I had with Check N Go. More than a year and a half later (two weeks ago) I begin receiving calls from some Bureau stating that I have an unpaid balance of $154.00, with the same account.  They have a totally different number 855-666-1467.  Once again they are asking that I fax them documentation, but refuse to send me anything stating I owe the money.  The weird thing about this call is that they somehow have record of the two payments already made, and are now saying that Marvel & Assoc must have sold them my unsettled account.  Now they are asking me to fax documentation that shows I settled.  I told him to call Marvel & Assoc, he said he couldn't.  So I told him I would tell them to call him and I hung up.

thinks its funny that you people refuse to pay bills for years and years while you reopen new credit cards and ARE WORKING and CAN PAY these debts that you ARE AWARE OF since they're on youre CREDIT REPORT and YOU OPENED THEM AND CHARGED MONEY! people who STEAL money from companys (yes, borrowing money from a company and not paying it back is stealing) are the real pieces of s***, not the people trying to get it back. PAY YOUR BILLS AND YOU WONT HAVE THIS PROBLEM!

I recieved a call this morning from Jacobsen and associates saying i either had to settle the debt or they would have a summons sent to me to appear in court .Then they took my debit card information and set up 6 payments after reading this i have contacted cashnet usa and informed them what was going on... waiting to hear at the moment... they gave me a court release number and a phone number of 855-571-1745 ..I tried to call them back and got a voice mail.... to leave my number HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP what do i do now....

I think it's funny the amount of assumption in your post. What makes you so high and mighty and right? Especially since your post is right behind someone who says they paid?

this place is a joke. preying on people and threatening them with serving papers andshowing up at their place of employment and home to arrest them. Some balls you jerks have. EVERYONE BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE. If you see a number you don't recognize dont answer it and surely don't give anyone any credit card information or banking account information over the phone unless it you paying for 1 of your utilities. people who call you requesting credit cardcinformation should always be verified. I hope these LOSERS rot in hell.

Also, when these people call asking for you to verify information don't give them anything at all. They found your number, they can find your address and mail you what ever it is that they need to mail to you. If you get nothng in the mail from them, then they are not legit, legal, or they are scum bags. be as rude to them on the phone as you can. talk down to them all the time and do not let them inimidate you at all. they are LOSERS and will rot in hell.
