No Call - just a charge on our phone bill for $14.95... Made on 11/19/09 at MIDNIGHT, when we know we were all in bed asleep! Bill said it was from "Transactions Clearing."

We signed up for a phone line in October and bill for December had a collect call from San Diego, CA 619-584-9903 for $7.20 (3 minutes). I tried calling it and it seems to be a fax machine. The transaction clearing number is 877-257-2455, which seems to be disconnected or busy when I call it. AT&T was willing to remove the charge from our bill and mentioned that adding the number to the "do not call" list should help prevent future occurrences.

A charge from this company showed up on my phone bill in August and I have tried to get it removed but have not been able to do so.

I was billed for a collect call from Toledo, Ohio (419-727-8432)on my latest AT&T bill.  Call was 10 minutes at 6:21 pm on 11-11-09, the call was never actually received.  It was billed on behalf of "Federal Collect, Inc." through Transaction Clearing, 877-257-2455.  I called AT&T to dispute the call and they said to call Transaction clearing.  Transaction Clearing asks me to input my phone number and when I do the line goes dead - repeatedly.

Just got off the phone with AT&T to find out what this $8 charge is all about but they informed me I had to call the number.  I did and of course the offices were closed.  I never use my home phone, it is only connected because we need a landline for our security system.  We never answered a collect call but got charged for one.  I love that AT&T acts stupid about it like, "I can't tell you anything about the call", then another person at AT&T can tell me its a collect call that was made from San Diego.  If they can give me the number responsible (18002572455) don't they have it in a database with the hundreds of other complaints made about the fraud that is taking place?!?!?!  I know it's only $8 but its [***] and someone is getting rich off people who don't pay attention to there phone bill.

I have had the same problem with this whatever rip-off it is. ATT i need call them & sort out problem---why should I have to do this when Att let this call be added to my bill.

Rec'd a charge on ATT bill for 11.32 for a collect call from a pay phone in Queens 718-380-9080.  Charge was on behalf of IVA, Inc, though TRSCN CLRNG at 877 257-2455 is the number listed on the phone bill to call.  We were home at the time, we did not receive a call - collect or otherwise.  I'm hesitant to have anything to do with the 877 number as when I called, there was no company announcement like "Thank you for calling XXXXX" which now I know why - they are masquerading themselves as numerous companies.  Already filed a complaint with FTC (ftc.gov - FCC is not the right place to complain).  Will be calling ATT on Monday to get charge reversed or we will drop all their services.  I'm not dealing with the third party company.  This is obviously a scam.

As a Pastor, I have God on my side...They don't want to mess with God's people!!! It will be removed from our bill!

I GO THROUGH QWEST AND THEY LET IT BE ON MY BILL TO FOR 7.20 FOR A COLLECT CALL FROM AZ AND I WASNT EVEN AT HOME AT THE TIME IT SHOWS.

I received my phone bill from at&t and i got the same thing. It said i made a call to Aurora, CO for three minutes and they are charging me $5.99. I know its not that much but lately money has been tight and any thing i can save is good right. Well i called at&t and they said it was another company that was getting into my account something like that so to call that 1-877-257-2455 number so i did. well after reading all of the post on here now i realize that that weird feeling i was getting about this company was true cuz i call and they never even mentioned their company name like at&t does when i call. Anyway i wait on the line for like 15 mins and finally some lady answers who doesnt even give me her name. I tell her about the call that they are charging me and she's like are u sure no one in your family made it and im like yes we dont even know anyone from there and shes like ok let me remove the charges from your account and im thinking hold on is she from at&t how does she have access to my account? She then said ok just deduct the $5.99 from your bill and mail it or just pay in full and we will give u a $5.99 credit line on your next bill and that she was also going to activate something to block something i dont really know what but she said it was FREE.

my telaphone company charged me $15 because of this call phone number, i dont wanna recive any more calls from this number (steal).

I received the bill from AT&T of the amount of $5.99. The charge was from the 1-877-257-2455. Detail: itemed call 12-08-2009 8:12AM KOKOMO IN 765-868-7411 3.0 Min. First of all, I do not answer any phone call and the caller has to leave the msg before I will answer the phone. Second, I was not home even at home at 8 am because I leave home at 7:30 am for work. This scum bag claimed that he/she placed the collect call at the time frame was a con. According what I read from this page, this 8772572455 operation really questionable because it seemed to me they have people calling from all over the states. We really need to report these scum bags.

Said collect call was answered from El Cajon CA (don't know anyone in Cali) Call lasted 3 minutes. When I called the 800 number I was told that if I had an answering machine than that is why I was charged. I asked if his answering machine automatically accepts collect calls b/c mine doesn't. SCAM!

Ms. irdy, Just to let you know, I also recieved a phone bill of a certain billwithus,Inc. Collect...Answering machine,the amount was outrageous...I definetly will call the Federal Trade Commission,business bureau...I thank you for informing me about the situation...it happened before the lovely holiday's...Thank You..gloria

I was billed for a collect call from Englewood, CO (303-790-9692)on my latest AT&T bill.  Call was 14 minutes at 5:48 pm on 12-14-09, the call was never actually received.  It was billed on behalf of "IVA, Inc." through Transaction Clearing, 877-257-2455.

National Search Directory, Inc. whom with I have never spoken to has appeared on my ATT bill for $39.95!  What a scam!  In the process of reporting to ATT because of course the 1-877-257-2455 number listed for the company is not a working number.  Go figure.

I was charged $16.79 for a collect call in November of 09. Just like most of you, I don't have a phone hooked up to my land line, (it's for a security system). i called the phone number that was on my bill and I was on hold for about 20 min. When I finally talked to someone @ "transaction clearing", they tried to asked for my home address and i refused. I explained the situation and they said they will credit my AT&T account today. When you call: Be direct, Tell them they are wrong, and Make sure you get a confirmation number. THIS IS TOTALLY A SCAM!

How can ATT allow this to continue??
I was billed $13.10 on behalf of "Federal Collect Inc" for a call from 615-792-9131 from Ashland City, Tennessee. Googled the 615 number and got as far as it being a cell or unpublished number. Googled 'Federal Collect Inc" and got nothing. Googled the 1-877-257-2455 next to the "Transaction clearing" and found all these complaints. Funny thing too is that besides never accepting any collect call, I get charged an extra $1.06 for FL State Communications tax and FL Local Communicatons tax for a "Total Transaction Clearing" of $14.16!!
Something has to be done about this.
