I just finished writing a hot letter to AT&T Business Billing and Public Utility Commission of Texas.  We have been hit by 3 crammers in the last 14 months.  What was great was the same month I was credited with some of the money the 2nd crammer got to me for - the 3rd crammer was already on my statement charging me!!!!  This is not right!!!

    Hey.
I work for AT&T customer service and you have no idea how tiresome it is to deal with third party billers. They are NOT charges placed on there from those providers. AT&T and all other phone companies provide billing and collections for these companies for the convience of the customers, now yes, sometimes these charges are NOT authorized, and if they're not, YOU HAVE to let both AT&T AND that third party company (e.i..enhanced services, trscn clrng, OAN,...) know that, "Hey.. This isn't something I remember signing up for" And if that's the case.. YES we will credit you. The reason we ask for a confirmation number is because thats the only way the block with go through effectivly! ITS A PROCESS PEOPLE. Just because you want it to go away with the snap of a finger, doesn't mean it will.

Also, don't blame it on the first live person you speak with. alot of the people you talk to, are not AT&T, they are vendors. Like, myself. I work through another company for AT&T. I am NOT AT&T. I am a represenative of it. And I will do what it takes to make every customer very satisfied. BUT if you are a subborn, hard headed person who just wants to point fingers, it doesn't make the job ANY easier. Step into my shoes for one hour and you'll quit. I get DEATH THREATS from these third party charges. Litterally. Step back before you threaten to slaughter someones family and think about how you would feel if someone said that to you. You think I'm joking but I'm not.

The point is... CALM. DOWN. The charge WILL go away. YOU will not have to pay it.

I will cancel phone service since I have a cell phone. I don't understand how these people can get away from charging for  service you didn't request.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. For those of us who got scammed, there is another number at which you can reach Transaction Clearing: 1-877-532-2455.  The other scam going was on previous AT&T bills:  Enhanced Services Billing Inc. at 1-888-293-3724....a "business" named American E-Voice which provides, according to them, your phone with a lot of "voice-mail messages"!  Funny thing is that we don't even have an answering machine.  A Mrs. Byrd @ AT&T Customer Service (1-888-757-6500) was wonderfully helpful and the charges were taken off my bill, even the previous months bills!  She is my hero!

So, why doesn't ATT either :1) reveiew the bills before these false charges go out ? 2) even allow charges from Federal Collect, Inc get into the bill in the first place  ? 3) can you explain to me how there can be a collect call on my burglar alarm line ?

Yes, the bill will go away...eventually. Yes, I politely called both ATT & Frderal Collect. I used to live in Long Beach, CA and the whole City would get slammed by some phone company in Florida , with all kinds of charges on my bill and many, many, many other people's bills , too !

Can anyone out in CA visit these criminals at the above address for this scam??????

Our able government seems to be creating holes by allowing 3rd parties to simply place charges on our phone bills.  I also blame AT&T, Verizon and all the phone companies by not approaching our governemnt officials about this issue?  I'm shooting off a ltter to our Senators and FCC this weekend.

Why would anyone even pay these charges?  It's not like these fruadulent companies are going to come after us for not paying fraudulent charges???  Mine was for text-savings plan for my home land line phone???  When could home phones text???  Of course numbers to call 866-421-4816 for Transaction Clearing and for billing questions for this text savings plan call 877-257-2455.  Easy enough for government folks to raid the above address and with electronic records, real easy to get these folks?  Oh thats right, government working on another stimulus plan!

Most likely some ex wall street folks who are now scamming phone companies.  Come on phone companies - get up and protect your brands!

Gotta love how companies sort of blame others (ie the law).  If I worked at a phone company I would be knocking at the FCC's doors and getting a meeting with our top officials to stop this right now!

Perhaps this loophole was left over from Al Gore when we started having charges on our phone bills for internet in the schools for all kids.  Funny thing is these charges are still on our phone bills listed as some mysterious tax.  Great way to tax Americans by placing it on phone bills.

The bad business in charge of all this is Domains by Proxy listed at this address - they allow folks to get domain addresses and hide behind them - lots of info on the internet about them and allowing this.

Here's their info again - any law enforcement officials in Scottsdale ready to stop this scam which has apparently involved thousands of phone customers across all phone services????

This business allows the persons contact name to be hidden just like theirs is hidden behind their IP address.  Folks at this company have got to know this is happening?  No way you don't if you own an internet business that lists domain names as your primary business.  Looks like this company needs a subpoenna to release who is hiding behide transclr.com and breaking many federal laws by their activity.

How many domain companies make this so public on subpoena's!

Received a charge on my AT&T bill on 10/30 for 5.99 from IVA INC, TRANSACTION CLEARING for a third party charge on a line that is literally only hooked up to my internet!  I NEVER use the phone for fax or calls other than the single number to my internet provider.  Could never reach ANYONE at 1-877-257-2455, the number given for questions on the bill, even during business hours.  The other number, 315-471-9547 is a fax machine and no good.  Am thinking of reporting to the FTC.  What is wrong with AT&T that they let this company scam so many people?

I had the same type of charge on my bill.  After not being able to get through to someone at 1 877 257-2455, I called AT&T and told them that I did not authorize the charge and that I wasn't able to get through to anyone at the number above to dispute the call.  At that point, the rep said AT&T would be more than happy to send the charge back to the third party billing company.  Problem solved and I didn't have to pay the extra $10 or so.

So I encourage anyone else who gets billed for calls by 1 877 257-2455 to call AT&T (or whoever your local provider might be) and dispute the matter.  Oh, and be sure to block all third party billing and collect calls on your account.

    Here you go: http://www.transactionclearing.com/ics.php

Their mailing address is listed (mail a dispute in writing) and you can also submit a question online.

Also, AT&T was very nice when I called to dispute the charge (thank you, Bryan!) & removed it from my bill.  They will be charging it back to Transaction Clearing.

Call your phone co - they can push the charges back to the third party biller and force them to prove the charges. To prevent in the future, you can ask for a third party block to be placed on your phone. Might be a good idea to do this for your landline and cell phone - no telling where they will turn up next. This just means you can't text donations, vote on reality shows that charge for your vote, etc... If you are willing to accept this inconvenience (I have no problem with it), you can prevent these charges from happening in the future.

Charge appeared on our phone bill under TRANSACTION CLEARING. When I called them they told me it was a charge for accepting a web page design.  I recall the conversation with their salesperson and CLEARLY TOLD HIM we would not accept any offer that involved any kind of charge at all.  Their sales rep tried to claim we accepted their offer, but then relented and supposedly reversed the charge today.  I will see if actually gets corrected on my bill.

everyone wanted deregulation, you got it! Now when other carriers bill on the local bill customers get upset because local carrier can't do anything regarding charges other than refer to the actual company that sent the charges to local carrier.  everyone wants there cake and eat it as well.  I would advise to call the toll free number on the actual page of the bill that has the charge from the other carrier to have service cancelled and credit sent back to the local company then after the credit reflects bill have the local company add a carrier block to the account.

I just got my ATT bill last night and I got a $10.40 charge from Transaction Clearing.  I called ATT this morning and the customer service rep.  He was very understanding and let me know I am not the only person that this has happened to.  He reversed the cahrges and gave me the number to call the company that charged that to my account with out my authorization.

I like many of you have tried calling and calling and I am not getting a response either >:-(

Just called 1-877-257-2455 about a $10 charge on my at&t bill...stated they are a listing company...told them I do not own a company and never auth'd them to bill me.  "Erma" said that they would cancel "my account " (as if I had an account...they didn't even have my name on file!) and block any further billings.

    Billing company:

    TRSCN CLRNG
TEXTSAVINGS, LLC-INET DIR LSTNG W/ TEXT

I'll see if this is reflected on my next bill and post if it works....or doesn't
