When dealing with the FMS Network include i3 Group under Ceannate Corp. They try to pass themselves off as counselors but they are used as part of their debt collection network / skip tracing and also like to call relatives, friends, and others. http://www.bbb.org/chicago/business-reviews/m ... ws-il-88378632/

} They say you can contact them with a written letter but who does that?? This is the 21st century, jeez.

A person who wants to enforce all possible FDCPA rights does that, jeez. Validation requests may be ignored unless a debt collector gets one on real paper. If an agency lacks a valid claim or a correct person and won't stop trying to collect, the alleged debtor's orders to stop must again arrive on paper to dare the collector to either file suit or walk away. Industry lawbreakers are well know for ignoring anything stated on the phone which does not help them get paid. There again USPS Certified mail is the consumer's best weapon against a bad actor's convenient excuses. The one thing a chronic FDCPA violator cannot stand is a solid paper trail, and it's left to their victims to build one.

You said "What good is your college education if you cant educate yourself on how to track your OWN loans .... myeddebt.io"

=== Now, why did you mention that website?
           I looked it up and it's a ... debt collector ?

=== From Yahoo Search results :
"this communication is from fms investment corp. we are a debt collector attempting to collect a debt. any information obtained will be used for that purpose."
    © FMS Investment Corp. 2016

=== Even more interesting, DomainTools had no substantive information about the site.

    Dates             Expires on 2017-04-12
IP Address     50.205.205.165 is hosted on a dedicated server
IP Location     United States - California - San Francisco - Comcast Cable
                              Communications Holdings Inc
ASN                United States AS7922 COMCAST-7922 - Comcast Cable Communications, Inc.

=== and when I try to access the site, my browser times out.

    According to http://www.urladviser.net/www.myeddebt.io

We observed that myeddebt.io website has been registered on 2016-02-03 during our researches.
myeddebt.io website opens slow with 825 ms ping time.

    Create Date : 2016-02-03 (Age : 0 days)
    Last Update Date : 2016-02-03
    Expiry Date : 2016-02-03

=== After seeing this strange information, I looked for information about FMS :

    http://fms.treas.gov/aboutfms/index.html
    US Department of the Treasury
    Department of the Fiscal Service

"Collecting Delinquent Debt: FMS serves as the government's central debt collection agency, managing the government's delinquent debt portfolio. FMS, using a centralized process, collects delinquent debts (e.g. federal student, mortgage, or small business loans, federal salary or benefit overpayments, fines or penalties assessed by federal agencies) owed to the United States government, as well as income tax debts owed to states and overdue child support payments owed to custodial parents."

    http://www.fp.ed.gov/fms.html
    Federal Student Aid
an Office of the U.S. Department of Education

and so on ... nothing about a website with a TLD (Top Level Domain) of "dot io"

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.io
The Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) .io is assigned to the British Indian Ocean Territory. The .io domain is administered by the Internet Computer Bureau, a domain name registry company based in the United Kingdom.

    Something just doesn't look right.
Describe to us the purpose of the domain / website "myeddebt.io"
Or are you a scammer front-running damage control ??

Answering your call is not the problem but you don't say anything  just breathe in the phone which is creepy. That is some way to conduct business .why don't you grow a spine and speak when you inturupt someone's day or better yet  don't  call with some bull s hit story, or calling 5 times a day only to harass someone down on their luck.   The best way to deal with the low level scumbags  like this outfit is to bring suit against them

once again, i started receiving calls from employees at this company in search of a person named "jason berry" (sic).  I don't know who this person is and have been stating as much for the last decade.  Every time I receive calls looking for this person I state the same thing, "i am not that person, and no I don't know where to find him/her or how to contact them."  Yet I constantly get called even after telling them to stop calling my number.

Why?  You see your best defense is a good, old fashioned letter, sent certified, return receipt mail.  Everything you need to know is on the previous page.  It does help to read other pages in the thread.  Now you can use the advice and stop the calls, or you can ignore the advice and put up with the calls.  Your choice.

I recieved a call from this number at 6:30 pm oI then n March 7th. They asked to speak to Lynn, I said  thats me. Then they said they are a collection agency contracted by the Dept. Of Education. Then they mentioned the schoolI went to where I had student loans at. Then they told me the address They have is on Sitks St. In Tampa Fla then I said I've never lived there and they said it doesn't matter but they eed my mailing address ! While I was on the phone with them, I had my girlfriend look up how many people have the same name as mine who live in Tampa and found that there are 9 others. My girlfriend checked my school allumni when I graduated in 1995 to the present and there is another person with my ane that graduated from the same school !  They then said I only had to pay $5.00 a month up to November to clear my debt of student loans. They had the last 4 digits of my S.S. number which I thoug different people I tslked ht that made them legit!  Then they had to have my Debit Card bank number and expire date  and didn't ask for the security code on the back, and then I thought that was wierd they didn't ask for  it ! What got me wandering was the fact that the 3 different people I talked to had simular names. The first one was Kenyatta, Then the other was Kenyalee, and Ibelieve they are scamming me !

You cannot call someone elses number and ask questions in regards to another person. Hust to let you know there is a class action already in regards to getting collection calls.

I've been getting non stop calls from Ceannate Corp with no number, just the name. I HAVE NO STUDENT LOANS. I raised my three kids and didn't go to school. Is there any other reason they could be calling me every single day? I've never answered, especially after reading about them...

Block the calls.  Ask her cell provider how.  Or put the number in her contacts list and give it the ring tone "no ring.  That won't stop the calls but it will make them easier for her to ignore.

I don't think our government is scamming us, only because I trust our President. Something is very wrong though. They are calling me because I went to votech for 12 days in 1984. In 1988 they took my income tax for over $1,500. Now they call and say I owe over $3,000. They don't keep records that far back to verify it was payed. Seriously? How can this be on the up and up ?
