- Bambi| 1 replyThis number called and was trying to scare me into wage garnishment if I didn't give them my debit card info for an upfront payment now and monthly after( about some school loan from 10 yrs ago or something) Scam! Scam! Scam!
- Caller: FMS
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to BambiStudent loan debt does not go away. If you owe it and do not pay they can and will garnish your wages for up to 25% of your disposable income, and take you tax refunds as well.
- Ms. Missy| 1 replyThese people are liars. They called one of my friends to request the last 4 digits of my social. They also had me very misinformed about how soon I can have them stop garnishing my wages. They said 3 payments. I call to verify and the lady said 6 when it’s actually 5. Also I called IRS to find out why I had not yet received my taxes. They told me it was intercepted by FMS. I called them, they say it comes from sept of treasury and they have nothing to do with it. Then she said they are ultimately who gets the money. I’m going to contact a lawyer and get more info. What’s the point of getting into a rehab program if they’re still going to garnish sh your pay and intercept all your taxes.😡

- BigA replies to Ms. MissyYes, I would certainly consult an attorney. As a college graduate you should be aware of your rights when dealing with debt collectors. All of this information can easily be found on the internet and the Dept. of Education website. I would also think that you would have a better grasp of the English language also.
- YD replies to jk| 1 replyMy father recieve this call too. In the call they was asking the last number of ss. My recomendation report this number and is it possible record the call to have it as evidence.
- BigA replies to YDWell, considering that person posted here in 2009, 9 years ago, I think your advice is just a tad bit late. Now if you get into the newer posts and start reading I can guarantee you that you will find some accurate information that will help you.
- DJThis number some how got a hold of my work number. Thank God we have a call center and a receptionist that cannot conform or deny that I work there.

- Sister1Got a call from this number, a Shari asking for me by name in regards to my sister, whom we will call Jane for the sake of this note (they did not say she was my sister, just her name and I didn’t claim to know her). When I asked how my number got associated with Jane, I was told it was listed as one of the contacts. I asked if Jane gave my number to her, Shari wouldn’t answer me. I told Shari to call Jane herself since she had her number to which Shari asked if she couldn’t just leave a name and number for Jane to call. I said sure, wanting to be done with this conversation. Shari refused to tell me who she worked for or what she wanted from my sister. Who is this person and what do they want?! And why in earth are they calling me about my sister? We don’t even have the same last name and aren’t on the same phone plan...
