calling over and over again

calling over and over since many weeks.  I talk to them asking to Stop Calling my phone # and they are still calling.

I have a VOIP number and I received a call from this number. It's not telemarketers but I think it's a bot from a website. Someone must have put our telephone numbers into the system to randomly dial the number.

I work late shifts, and they phone me  every day at 9 in the morning! -.- i wish there was a way to get that number to stop. Especially since my phone bill is already sky-rocketing through the roof!

When I find them, they'll be sorry.

This was an attempt to contact me on a "personal business matter".

These guys were calling me about an account that was real old.
You can't expect me to pay for something from 5 years ago!!!  
I tried talking to them but they didn't seem to get it.  
I googled their company name "Global Credit" and found their website.
I sent a request to stop bugging me.  A manager called me back a couple days
later and told me they were closing my account.

I too am receiving calls from this number everyday, the are looking for a Mr. Krugger, and although I have told them over and over again that they have the wrong number, they continue to call.  How do you get it through the idiots head!!!!

That's not true! Every province has a statute of limitations on when the company can sue you for the money, if they don't sue you for the money before that statute of limitations expires (for example in Ontario it's 2 years). Then you are no longer obiligated to pay the amount owing. You simply state that you do not owe that money and tell them to close your account. If they decided to sue you over monies owing after the limitation period has expired, you do have to go to court and file a defense though, and your defense will be that the limitations period has expired, the court will have to throw it out. A really good book to read on collections etc. Is called The Wolf at the Door. There is also online information on the statute of limitations periods by province.

@John Deer - First off you would have to be one of these "low lifes" owing money to come across this page unless you have no life and just surf 1-800 web sites.

Secondly you need to educate yourself and realize that in this day and age, everyone gets in a situation due to sickness, layoffs, and many other reasons.... as far as I'm concerned you are even more of a "low life" just for casting judgment on people you don't even know.

We have received several calls from this number, but when we ask for name and call back number and tell them we are on the do not call list, they hang up

Same here! Last week I received a letter from a lawyer on behalf of Global stating I owe $250 from 2006. This is the first time I've heard about any of this. Sounds fishy to me...

I got a call from them today too. I didn't pick up and they left a message also about someone named "Mr. Krugger" and how he owes equipment or something? I don't really remember, it got cut off.

i got a call from them today, for my cousin, and i asked for the company name and they wouldnt give it to me, she said " i cant give out the company name"  WTF , their calling my house! Basterds.  So i wnet on yelowpages.ca and found it myself.

They've been calling my cell phone an upwards of 4 times a day. I work 11 hour shifts so I rarely get to answer the phone when they call, but you can call them back, I called them back and they answer the phone as Global Credit, and ask how they can help you, when I asked why they had called my number they refused to tell me, I told them to stop calling my number, but the calls keep coming through.
