If you get a call from them, call them back.

I have had the same # for 6 years now, and the people that had my # before me were apparently scumbags.

Anyway, call the number, and tell them that you keep getting calls from them and you don't know why. They will ask for the phone number. Give it, and then they will look it up. If the person is not you, then tell them so, and they will stop calling.

No biggie.

Yeah, it is annoying, but remember that some people need to earn a living as well, and nobody chooses a life of calling people at home. Be polite and the problem goes away.

First call in a while from these folks -- they did stop after I asked a month or two ago, when I told them it all has zip to do with me, but now they have resumed calling -- what's up with that???

i have put my damn number on the National Do Not Call list yet still over and over again they keep calling

I constantly receive messages from this number saying: " we have made several attempts at contacting you, please call us back at 877-3373836"
Legal companies don't leave messages with no name, something is not right here.

I'm not even old enough to get credit, WTF. STop calling me.

Carefull this tel. is a scam, this [***] h. collect info from people that for some reason, at some point in his life had a monetary problem. Then spend time in making those  nasty calls. Some people get scare, make a deal and send a cheque.
Now what you could do:
1.- If you feel confortable, tell them that you are reporting this issue to the police, and go for it.  or
2 .- Ask for a copy of their petition with a full information in writing. DO NOT GIVE OR CONFIRM TO THEM ANY OF  YOUR  PERSONAL INFO - NAME, ADDRESS, SOCIAL SECURITY OR INSURANCE NUMBER.  DRIVER LICENCE.  ETC. (Even if they are nice or nasty). If they are looking for you, they should have that information.

I keep being bugged by this too.  They call, do their message, and then say they are transferring me to an agent, and then they hang up on me.  weird and annoying.

i copied this from there web site but when i called they would not tell me what company's they worked for and unless i would give them my phone # they wouldn't tell me anything.

I FINALLY got through to this number.

They've been calling me for months now, just a robot, asking for someone named William. Since I'm female, and not William, I ignored the call. They kept calling.

I finally called back about 10 times and couldn't get through. I'd get sent to a voicemail box that was full...every time.

Finally, I got through today and told the guy I was really pissed off because it wasn't me and they kept calling me, and he hung up on me.

I kept trying, kept getting sent to voicemail.

Eventually I got a different person.

Different strategy.

As politely as possible, I said I'd received a call from this number and wanted to return the call to find out what it was about.

He asked for my number, I gave it to him, and he said he was looking for William or Simon Stern.

Yep, not me. I don't even know them.

I told him that they have the wrong person, and that I got this number when I moved back from Vancouver 2 years ago, and that I don't know who they are.

He wasn't very happy, and asked me to repeat my number. I did, and finally he said, okay, I'll take you off the list.

Just to be safe, I'm blocking the number from my phone. [***].

Please stop calling me! I call back, and leave a msg, I get charged for the call?! B.S.

We are getting these calls and we don't owe anthing that is not current.  They call and leave an automated message that is just a few numbers.

I called these donkey's back. Verified my number to get some info. They asked for George, as well. I told the black dude, my name and that I was the sole recipient of calls to this number. He said, Ok. We'll take you off the list. Sorry for the calls. I told him I didnt call back cause I thought it was the damned census harassing me to verify the census I already filled in. Im pretty sure that [***] is going to take my number off the list. We shall see.

First of all there is something in Canada called the Statute of Limitations.  Look it up.  You DO NOT have to pay all your bills forever.  There is a time frame that collections can collect.

AmEx has a fake name for their collection department ... so, "no", (presumably) legal companies DO lie.

I've had this number for 8 years - have no outstanding debts.  They're scammers.  Giving them your number (or even calling them, in my opinion) just confirms your number.  Complain to your MP!  (I phoned them, to find out who they are, from a blocked number.)

These guys have been calling me for 7 months using various phone numbers.  They call my pay as you go mobile phone.  I think they are collecting on behalf of Rogers.  I don't really know because they never sent me a letter which is required by Ontario law and they either don't leave a message or they hang up on the answering service.

I suggest to people that they NEVER answer the phone. It drives them crazy.  One day somebody in that office was calling me several times a day trying to get me to answer.  I know it was not the auto dialer.

Eventually, they will give up.  If they are still calling after 2 years, I may answer it and have a little bit of fun with the ignorant unlucky person who has to deal with me.  I doubt they know about the Statute of Limitations on collections.

They only have 2 years to commence legal action.  Before 2004, it was 6 years.  That applies only to unsecured debt I believe.

So the next time one of their bozos contacts you about an old debt, "educate" them.  If they have an attitude problem, let them have it.

Got a call from guy name frank and whn I called back it said global I was so pissed whn I got call anyways they called me. 7 times in one hour of time can anyone suggest me if I can block toll free nos calling my house nd cell

this is a Collection Company that has been calling my UNPUBLISHED NUMBER for two months; when I called them I was asked for my number which I gave to them and they gave me a name of someone else. Then they asked me if I knew where this person lived LOL yeah right! So to all who read this, if they get calls from this company that are relentless. I told the person at Global that the calls had to stop and he actually ARGUED WITH ME.  
I suggest that people who continue to receive these annoying calls do two things: FIRST immediately after one of these calls dial Star 57 (*57) which will immediately send a trace to Bell Canada. SECOND; send an email to <privacy@bell.ca> and the Bell Ombudsman will investigate the company for these calls.

Someone called me from this number.

Im at work.. This number now called three times in the last 30 mins. Automated msg says they are trying to process, or whatever. Then they say they cannot process (or connect, i dunno) and they say they will try back later. I spoke to this automated msg just now, said "can you hurry this up, this is the third call" the line then seemed to pick up, but then i was hung up on. Im kindof confused, and definitely annoyed.

I'm getting annoyed by this number.
