They are not legitimate, if they were they wouldnt call and threaten and use scare tactics to get someone to pay a debt, they would send out letters within 5 days of contact like the law permits, they wouldnt have numerous lawsuits against them for the debt collection practices they use. They wouldnt lie to you and say they are not a debt collector and once you tell them the line is recorded they change their whole story.  They are not licensed or bonded to collect for starters. They lie lie lie. Your original debt is still there they paid for your file from them at pennies on the dollar and added some extra for them to pocket. You apprently work for them you might want to start looking for a new job because this place is going to be shut down!!!!

Liarliar is right!  These people have an F rating with the BBB and lawsuit cases filed against them.  Hope for your sake another scam co. Doesn't get this after you pay these guys.

I have had to file a police report , complaints with IC3 and the FTC on another scam company.  My police did call me back and the scam companies are running rampant.

Thank you WR. You are telling these folks right. I borrowed over 2g's. Missed payments totaled nearly 5 grand. Settlement amount cut in half. Itz a country bargain! Especially considering all i got out of paying. Why chance going to court? Pay up and get rid of this headache.

Have no clue why they are calling.... the message seemed urgent and mentioned my social security number and a breach of contract.... not calling back because i have NO way of paying back any kind of debt since i am a full time student with no job LOL

This maniac has been constantly calling my phone threatening me with litigation. He refuses to verify the debt and further refuses to explain what an Audubon Financial Bureau is. He was rude and argumentative all along attempting to loud talk me and throw out as many legal terms as his little brain could hold. Be careful people. Scammers, thieves and robbers are everywhere. Even in Western New York (as he claims).

It is mind boggling how you low lifes can take out loans never pay them back then claim the collection agency calling you is a scam. GET REAL you people are the scam artist.  With out using these tactics none of you pieces of garbage would pay!!!

Even being generous and assuming the debts are real and the "collection agencies" are not just extortion rings, the debts being collected upon are "demand notes," which means that, IF you have the note, you can collect on the debt.  By refusing to verify the debt, the so-called "collection agencies" are failing to show that they are the party who is entitled to collect the debt.

No note ---> no payment.

Threat + refusal to verify ---> EXTORTION.

But you don't have to worry about this.  You see, I bought the note for your mortgage and for your car from the previous holders of your debt.  I won't show them to you to prove that I really have them, but now you have to pay ME for those things because I told you so.  Send me the money right away, or else I will take you to court, and God help you with what unfolds then, you scum-of-the-earth debtor.

Oh, yes, you need to go to WalMart to get a Green Dot card for payment and give me all the information on the card within two hours, or the sheriff will arrest you and put you in jail and throw away the key.  Call me back at 1-800-DUH! after you get the Green Dot card.

Only fraudulent collectors use illegal tactics. Do you hand over your money to criminals? Simply because they tell you too? If a dirtbag collector can't or won't provide written proof of his claim by mail, not e-mail or fax, he is a fraud.

Let me guess we are criminals because you said so lol. In fact we provide alot of good paying jobs to the economy.  A fax or email is the same as a letter to your home. I bet you didn't need all this paperwork when you stole the money from the loan company.  That's what makes us so talented.
