This was a political call.

It IS BB&T bank. Debit Card Fraud Department wanting to verify a charge. Did not answer original 877-557-0506 call, but called number on back of my debit card, took a while to get a live person, but it is BB&T looking out for their customers.

All this back and forth over scam vs. legit is amusing.  All I know is I got a call from this number this afternoon and they left a recorded msg wanting me to vote for Marco Rubio.  Doesn't sound like BB&T to me......

This number claimed to be BB&T fraud, but I don't have a BB&T account. I will be calling my bank tomorrow to make sure that everything is good and then reporting the number to the proper authorities as a phishing scam. There is no reason for BB&T to call me when I don't have an acount.

I kept getting calls from this number, I had recently made multiple purchases online and I had noticed all my transactions were still pending. Today I answered the phone and it was BB&T and it was an automated recording that went over each transaction, verifying that they were authorized. So I am glad I finally stopped reading everyone's comments saying scam and answered. I did not have to give any information other than verify that I was the person they were calling. After that it listed every transaction amount and where the charge was from and then  I pressed "1" to say they were in fact authorized charges. I will be saving this number so I know to answer it each time.

It doesn't make sense that this would be a BB&T number, as I do not have and have never had BB&T.

It's BB&T fraud protection they're a little TOO nosey but better that then nothing.

I got a call purporting they were BB and T wanting to report fraudulent activity on my debit card.

It is 100% Legit. Glad I did not hesitate after reviewing this site! Was able to get a heads up on a 14day free trial I totally forgot about & didn't want to continue with. FYI:You will not be on hold with the fraud # as long as you will be with the number on back of your card.

This is BB&T. Fraud alert line. They are notifying you of fraudulent charges on your debit card.  Totally legit. Call them back

As stated many times in this and other threads, if in doubt call the number on your card.

It's legitimately BBT. It scared me too, so I called the main number on the back of my card, and confirmed. Guy said that was the fraud department and connected me. They'd found fraudulent charges, and due to their catching it, it looks like we can get it all resolved quickly. Please answer or call this number back asap if they've called you.

So why is their "fraud" department calling about my (non) account with them?

This is a legit call from BBT fraud department. Save my ass.

I do not have an account with BB&T so I am sure this was a scam

This number called me last night and left a three-second silent message. They have not called back. Why wouldn't they have left a message if it's a legitimate BB&T number?
