    Long Time No Call
Well I guess I spoke too soon.

I really wish I could talk to a live person when they call instead of some automated system.

I too am recieving calls from them at all hours of the day and night. I went on line and found a legal letter to cease/quit calls its called a Stop Calling Letter. According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act,(15 USC 1692c) Section 805(c):Ceasing Communication. Try that.

I have found that they and several other callers are calling about the same thing. I never answered, but got tired of the phone ringing. Now, I have all their calls forwarded to another collector. I use Comcast for my phone service and they have "select forwarding". Many other phone co's offer the same thing. It allows you to forward only certain numbers and not all your incoming calls. My phone does not ring anymore. You can send the calls to your local pizza shop or towing service or do what I do and send them back to themselves. I am sure that they read these post's too, so when they get wise and use another # I will too.

This number calls me at least twice a day about a Citibank private label card, which I do not have.  I have no debt whatsoever.  I have had creditors calling my number for four or five years now trying to collect money from the same two people of whom I do not know.  They say they will take my number off of the list, but I still keep getting calls.  It is getting ridiculous how many phone numbers I have in my phone labeled "bogus debt collector".

the advantage of caller ID....when you see the # don't waste your time answering.  Also, don't even both getting up - IF it's a real caller that wants to talk to you then you'll hear their voice and can grab the phone then.

One thing to remember is that CitiBank is the back end for many of the "BRANDED" cards you may have.  Such as CONOCO's gas cards, EXXON's gas cards, STAPLES cards, ZALES,  OFFICE DEPOT cards...etc.  So, this may be a scam but it may also be a miscommunication.  Always be careful but make sure you have paid your bills too. For any of the cards above YOU ARE dealing with Citibank even if the card says the other store's name on it. I just got one of those calls, which hung up when they were transfered to my extension.  Irritating for sure but I looked and found I was late on a Office Supply credit card payment.

This number has been calling my cell for months. There never is any message left.

I looked it up in the reverse phone call app, and am informed it is not a valid telephone number.  I have always assumed it is a cell phone, which is why I never answered.  I see by another post it is a scam by someone claiming to represent Citibank.

At any rate it is a scam, obviously.I think I will answer and then report it to FTC.

If they call you, either don't nswer at all or don't believ what they tell you then report it tothe auhorities. It may take time for action, but they eventually will d something. Don't ever send them money or give them any sort of information, NOTHING!!!!!!!

I have received 4-5 calls per day from this number re: a Citi Bank Shell Card which I do not have. I finally called Citi Bank Shell and after a few minutes the agent told me that there was a card associated with my phone number. Checking further she found out that the account address and last 4 digits of the Social Security did not match mine. She contacted the fraud dept. and had it cleared up. I received a call from the 877 number a day later which I answered and explained the above. She told me that she would remove my number. I have not a call in 2 days. Hope it continues.
My suggestion is if the calls continue call the bank and check to see if there is an account in your name.

Received 2 calls on my answering machine within 2 hrs. I returned the call and connected with a very pleasant sounding man.He wanted to know why I was late with my payment on my GoodYear card.Somehow or another I did not receive a bill from my account. Have been having trouble with mail being stolen. The guy  (I forget his name) was very pleasant and I was able to pay my bill over the phone. He even waived the late charge. The problem is the postoffice not delivering mail correctly and also people stealing mail from rural mailboxes!
