They call at least once a day.  I never answer altho sometimes I answer and hang right up hoping to get them to stop calling.  I am on no call list and don't understand why they call and call and call.

This is coming almost a year late, but there is too much ignorance to let pass.

If we are, it was for different reasons. B101 was cranking up the old "Pay Youse Bills" song on the Victrola and I was debunking the rant.

} If the caller was from a real card company they would tell you what card was delinquent and why. They wouldn't beat around the bush and ask for your account details, and they would leave a proper message with the details

This you know from personal experience, I trust? Here was mine, with multiple card lenders at a financial low point in my life: Anywhere from five to twelve calls PER DAY, per lender, with few if any leaving messages. The few I took live all had reps who wanted me to verify myself as the account holder, just in case I had a state law "mini FDCPA" which protected my privacy.

It will call for card brands it does underwrite, such as Sears and Sunoco.

Why do you assume I needed to plug a phone number into a search engine to find this discussion? The entire contents of this site can be indexed by Google, et al. There is a little thing called serendipity which people conducting research have experienced since the heyday of the library card catalog.

Really? The FTC regulates debt collection and issues of commerce. The FCC has almost no jurisdiction over the issues raised in this thread.

I have received several calls from this number.  I do not answere and they leave a message saying it's regarding my Citi Private Label Account.  I don't have a Private Label Account that I know of.  I call Citicards regarding my account and they say I don't owe any money.  Have no clue what it is about.  I will not return call in case they want me to give all sorts of private information.

This is Citi. It is not a debt collector. Interestingly this form doesn't include a 'call type' for legitimate business.

In my instance the call was about a Conoco card where I had missed a payment.

Citi takes care of a number of cards beside Citi themselves including many gasoline cards.

If this fits you, the best way to deal with this is to ask why they are calling. Ignoring or blocking is going to prolong the calls and perhaps keep important information from you.

They call my house all the time--and I am also up to date with all Citibank accounts (store cards as well). Has to be a scam- and they wont leave a message.

This is a fraudulent company. They are not Citibank- contact Citibank directly (1-888-285-9696) to verify.

This is a real number....after reading these posts I checked my children's place store card balance, and it was thirty days late...it's issued by citicard...just paid off the balance online so hopefully I won't get anymore calls. Check your retail store cards people...you may have a balance that you forgot to pay.

It's a phishing scam - not Citibank.  Beware!!

This number is from Citi, which handles Shell among other cards.  It is a legit number.  If you don't have anything from Citi or one of their cards, call them and let them know.  If they do not take your number of their list, get their mailing address and information and send them a certified letter to cease calls (with a return receipt so you can prove they did receive your letter).  After that, you can file a complaint.  I would keep a log of date, time, and who called to prove harassment.  

They have called my office numerous times.  It is annoying but you can deal with it.

These jerks have been calling here on and off for 3 months.  8am starts the day with their calls.  We cannot block them as that feature is not available where we live.  We do not have a gas card, a Citi Private Label account, NO major or small store charge cards and all credit cards we pay before due with several months payment included each month..in otherwords, we are current and have been for years.  Have picked up a few times to get them to stop calling, but no one ever is able to talk...just a wait for an operator!  FEDUP with this!!!!

I have been getting calls from this number for months. It is almost constant, at least 8-10 calls per day.

Left message that call back with my citicard number  ..stop these scammers.
