I called 877-587-5727 after noticing a missed call on my cel phone Sunday.  Now they know I have a working number, so maybe returning their call wasn't a good idea.  I received another (missed) call today (Monday President's Day holiday) while I was in the gym.

I suspect scam on sunday because the poor sound quality recorded message (on a Sunday) CitiCard was sorry for an automated answer and then asked me to touchtone input my credit card number into their automated response system.

I'm reluctant to call again, to demonstrate to my spouse, for whom English is not the first language, how to recognize a scam, because the price will be to receive more unwelcome calls from this number.  

Ah, from a pay phone using a long distance phone card, for demonstrating to my spouse about this type of scam.

Interesting that in January 2012, a person answering 877-587-5727 claimed to be representing ZALES

Caller: ZalesCaller Type: debt collector
person claimed to be from Zales claiming I owe them money. They wanted my social and my birthdate to confirm I wasn't the one they were looking for.I asked what did they have on file and they would not comply. How could I know if this was a scam.

Citi's Credit Card Services. These jackholes call to try to collect for Exxon, Shell, etc. They are not theprimary lender, just a bunch of sweathogs in a boiler room in India. Never, ever deal with these clowns. If you have a gas card, deal directly with your gas company, that's who you've contracted with. And just put morons like credit card services on block.

this couldbe a scam.  I am up to date with citi and still get these calls.  Watch out for scams.

This number call my home phone atleast 5-10 times a day. No one answers if you pick up the phone.It comes up on my phone and across my TV as TOLL FREE SERVICES. Its a pain in the [***] cause they like to call you just as you are setting down for supper or going out the door to work.

I keep getting automated phone calls from them.  Happens multiple times everyday.  Extremely annoying.  Making me very angry now.  It is so obvious that it is a scam.  Hope they rot in hell.

this # calls all the time, everyday. if they do not stop calling, i wil report this # to the federal goverment for harrassment. DO NOT CALL THIS # ANYMORE!!!!!!

I get calls from this number day after day.

unfortunately bill collectors are exempt from the DNC listing - land lines and cell phones - royal PIA.  This company is robo-calling and my home phone if I'm there rings multiple times a day and my cell phone also rings multiple times a day (on virbrate since I don't want it ringing where I'm working).  Yes, I am behind in a couple of payments but this kind of crap is NOT going to get them any payments any quicker.  As others have said they are calling "on behalf of" other credit companies that you may have accounts with - they are relentless b/c they get paid for every call the successfully complete - success = you agreeing to some type of payment.....  these people do not have any hearts at all - I can't imagine the kind of people who have those jobs.

bite me!  when/if you're ever caught up in a financial meltdown I hope you get called to death on the things you're behind on....not b/c you just blew off making any payments but b/c you couldn't make the payments at this time.....then post and tell us how it feels to get relentless calls from people who couldn't give a rip about your problems, they're just meeting a call quota!

Harassing calls from this number

If you call the number back it's for CitiCards. They just want to offer you a low interest way to increase your debt.

daily robo-call which says it is from citibank and they want me to call a number with my card number; but i don't have citibank account so this must be a scam.

This company also calls me 7 days a week at any hour! And they call persistently! I have asked them to stop and they won't...looks like I'll have to change my number since no one is stopping  these calls

I get calls about ten times a day from this number... They are harrassing me. They need to stop.

It's a REAL number to citi bank. Just call the number on the back of you card to verify.

Call your phone carrier and ask how to block the calls.  We received as many as six calls a day, seven days a week.  I filed a complaint with the Federal Do No Call Registry and with the FCC.  Finally, I called our phone company and was told how to block the calls.  It was easy!  I wish I'd thought of this weeks ago.

You can send them a certified, return receipt cease all calls letter.  If they continue to call after they have received it, you can sue them for violating the FDCPA.  They have no right to harrass you, even if you are behind in payments.
