They call a couple times a day but never leave a message.  I got curious so I answered and the voice asked for my daughter, when I didn't reply; they hung up.  It's annoying to say the least!!!

I keep getting a call from this number saying it's citi-corp for Exxon/Mobil  and they need to talk to me about my card. We have a E/M card with none or very little balance on it so we're not late. I figure it's a sales call or scam because, 1) if we owed them anything, we'd hear from a live person and 2) the call comes at the EXACT same time every day!! I just tried to call them back and it asked for my account number. I entered nothing and waited; soon the recording did the usual, " You will be connected shortly. This call may be monitored, etc." then no music, just silence. I waited for 5 min. then hung up. I guess since I didn't put my account number in, no one was going to talk to me. We're on the Do Not Call list as well but it doesn't seem to stop calls!

Only a telemarketer would claim not to understand why people would not want to answer their phone. 95% of calls that come to my landline are telemarketers, robo-calls, and wrong numbers. You can explain to the wrong numbers. There is nothing telemarketers understand. And EVERYONE will gladly try to explain to you why they are exempt from the DNC list.
And you have to have it explained why I'm exempt from answering the phone? Business101? Go on believing that the scumbags are at the *other* end of the line. If you thought you had something we wanted, you would leave a message.

Max--it still can be reported to the AG of each and every state they call you from and if is harassment for "bills" you don't owe and some that you DUE OWE.  It can be sued for.  The FTC handles prosecution only on a very lenthy try and you better have substantial documentation.  But the attorney general has that jurisdiction to prosecute and sometime very very quickly for the publicity of "catching" some of the "scammers" !Check with the AG of your own state !

B101--you are the "expert" are you--when this # calls my house and asks for a person not living there and repeated says they are Citi-Bank and have an account with MY phone number --either as a "reference" or a co-signer.  Sorry B101--you are mistaken--I have a debit card I use at my local bank only-make no purchases -use it only for ATM withdrawals when the bank is NOT OPEN--NOT USED FOR PURCHASES of any kind--do NOT have any debts and owe NO one.  So why do they call my number.  So your "you get calls because you owe money is flat our erroneous!  Yes there are dead-beats out there but YOU are wrong in assuming--every one is.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!! I used to work at Citi... My husband gets the calls everyday... I know from the voicemails left that they are NOT citibank... Citibank ALWAYS tells you to call the number on the back of your card along with a 800# they would not just leave an 800# also if you DO answer and get a person on the phone... once suspicious of the call the conversation stops and you are directed to call the number on the back of your card so you can be confident! OH they also do not call themselves Citicards... Unless it changed is was CitiGroup and CitiBank

You my friend  are incorrect. These people call and will do  a different approach to get you to pay something that is or not may be true. They ask in a nice tone that you are late with payment that they can clear if a partial down payment is made, and then they will ask you for a debit or visa card to pay the bill. I ask what payment is this for ? and the girl said your of tires. well find since you have my information can you please verify my account balance and the amount I owe. She stated that she could not do that over the phone .I said yet you still want me to hand you over personal information to pay this bill sound like a catch 22. I than ask her for her name and the location and extension to call her back she refused .

I have received 9 calls from this # in 3 days.  ID shows "800 Service", if they do not leave a message I assume it is not anyone I want to talk to and do not answer or call back.  But this is extremely annoying!  How do I stop these calls?

I also received this call.  It was a prerecorded message about a credit card I did not apply for.  I assume it's a hoax.  Whoever made the call is clearly trying to coaxing me into calling them so they can steal my personal information.  I won't call them back, but will continue monitoring my credit reports.
