- Anonym replies to dsI have recieved the same call twice now... about a week apart. They both asked for an Elizabeth Harrow... a name I have never heard before. They came on my business cell, and knowing that my number most likely belonged to another associate prior to me, I called them back to inform them that I was not Ms. Harrow. I got a voice mail and left a message informing them of their mistake.
The second time they called was today. I returned the call on my cell and it just rang off the hook. I later tried to call from my desk line and every time I try that the phone rings once and drops the call. If its collections they are doing a very poor job... if its a scam they are getting little from any of us but a phone number, which they probly already had. The prison random dialing seems like a much more likely situation. In which case, I am pissed... if some A$$ is doing this just to mess with people from jail.
I want closure to this issue and do not want to be harrassed on my business cell phone any longer.
What is our next step... how do we stop these calls? If I was called twice in a week, who knows how many more calls I could get. - noneThey said they were Collection Company of America. They left me a message on the weekend. I had to call them twice Monday morning to get through. They wanted the ref number but I just gave them my name. When they read it back, the spelled it wrong. Then they wanted my address or ssn. I said "You'll be lucky". Then they said, "Well, would you like me to give it to you?", but they had the wrong one. They had my wife's name wrong and my middle initial as well. I think they just call anyone with a similar name. I am afraid I swore at them. I won't ever do business with Verizon anyway but this is another good reason.

- cahfrcalMessage recorded at 6:50 AM 12/12/08; said it was an important matter naming me personally with a reference number; I called on 12/14 - they
were closed - left message for return call on 12/15; I called 12/15 at 1:00 PM and Peter Parker voice mail answers. I don't have any debts, so can't imagine what it's all about. Sounds real fishy...- Caller: Unknown

- ginaI switched to Optimum online, and YES VERIZON SUCKS A**. They never sent me a final bill after lying to me and said they would. I checked and called Verizon, and after a run around with some really crappy personalities. you supposed to go to verizon.com/finalbillpay, so I did and after reading the rest of these posts, I am guessing I am still going to be annoyed by these idiots.

- bothered877-611-1815 has been leaving partial messages daily (sometimes more than two a day) on my machine for weeks until the other day when they left a number to call back with an actual person's name! I tried to call it back twice and was just immediately put on hold. I don't know what they want but I want these calls to stop. It is harassment.

- SAJ replies to madmaxx| 4 repliesCCS is a collection agency. I have never heard of CCA.
I get those calls to, an I am not in debt to anyone. I am going to report the phone number to the National Do Not Call registry tonight. - SAJ replies to SAJ| 3 repliesMYSTERY SOLVED!!!!!!!!!! I confirmed with Verizon who it is.
CCA is a collections agency and is using that number. Verizon FiOS failed to cancel an account of mine from four months ago and they put me in pre-collections.
NEVER USE VERIZON PHONE OR INTERNET OR TV!!!!!! This it the third time in two years they have failed to cancel an account of mine (First time they've put me in collections!). Customer service after sale is non-existent. Three phone calls and a nasty letter and they still haven't done it.
Try to figure out who might be charging you money and deal with them directly. And boycott Verizon. - travisCorrect me if I am wrong but because this company has called me more than once and is calling me about someone else and telling me about his debt needs collecting they are in violation of the law.
