They had called and said it is called BRG COMPANY. I wouldn't give him my ss # so he said he couldn't help me But they are a debt collector and I have no debts out there Going to block them

They called and asked for my dad who has been gone for 10 years. When I asked what it was regarding they hung up on me!  Can you say BLCOKED NUMBER?!?!

called and a very threatening message that a debt is owed and if they dont get a call back then legal action will be taken and you will be arrested

Received several calls yesterday and today from this number and one other, (877-738--1610).  A message was not left every time; but one message was left yesterday and one today and the messages, despite being from different phone numbers and having different call-back numbers provided, were otherwise absolutely identical.  A female voice says it is regarding "our location and tracing efforts to locate [my name]"; but doesn't say who they are.  Goes on to say that if *I* am unable to assist, the law requires that they can contact "all references on file".  ...But I don't know what file they're talking about or who references might be.  I haven't filled out any kind of application or purchased anything that requires references for nigh unto two decades now.  Don't know who they'd have on file to contact.  It wraps up by saying that, even if I have no information to give, to call back, regardless.  Really?  Who returns calls from people who can't even identify themselves, but who also act threateningly and as though they have some kind of authority?!  Clearly a new scam, seeing how these calls seemed to have started for everyone just today.  I'm blocking both numbers.

How can I block these numbers?

Threatening message telling me to call back about a person they want information about.  Saying if I did it call back they would check all references whatever that means.  Blocked number.

On an I-phone click on the number and click on the little "I" in the right corner.  Scroll down and you will find "block this caller."

I also got a call and they used my maiden name from 10 years ago

Scam trying to collect money and get private info

Called and left messages at my number and my parents number yesterday and today. Can't tell me who the debt originated from but if I pay today, they will drop fees and interest 😂😂😂 Blocked. Def a scam

I received a call from this number.  The message they left said there was a claim against me.  I do not have any outstanding debts, so I was curious and decided to call them back and asked if I could record the message, they agreed.  Their company is called Bournview Recovery Group and their address is 5999 South Park Ave, Suite 209, Hamburg, NY 14075

I asked them to send me a Validation Letter in the mail for the account in question and they said that since they are not a "Billing Service" they are not allowed to correspond via US Mail, which was very suspicious to me.  They said they could send it to my email address, but they had an email address on file that I have not used in at least 8 years.  I told them if they were unable to correspond via US mail, that they should take me off of their list and the woman hung up the phone.

I later called my brother who is an attorney and he said the reason they probably would not correspond via mail is that if they print and mail false account information or threats, it could be considered mail fraud, which is a federal crime.

My suggestion is that if this company is calling you, you should talk to them and ask them to correspond via US Mail only.  If they say they are unable to do that, ask them to be removed from their list.  If the calls continue after this request, you can send them a cease and desist letter sent certified mail to the address above.

Your brother should have told you that they law requires them to send that letter within 5 days of first contact.  Borneview is a known debt scammer located in Western New York, haven for crooks who what to pretend they are debt collectors.

A search for a business registration under Bournview brings up no results in either Bizapedia or the New York Dept. of State.  This would preclude them from legally conducting business.
