This company keeps calling me, even though the debt is so old that I do not even remember it.

Here's a tip for all of you that are annoyed by this company... CALL YOUR STATE'S BUREAU OF CONSUMER PROTECTION!.  I did that, and all my state (Maine) had to do was send them a letter stating that what they are doing is violating the Federal Fair Debt Practices Act and they immediately stopped calling and I've never heard from them again.

Received 6 calls in 7 days! Some calls would be automated and some are actally polite until you request more information. I am no going to lie but I did have a cc bill that is 10yrs. old. At first, I didn't know what they were talking about but then I remembered and asked them if they would send me something in writing. They said they did back in 2000! Well, hell, I lived in another state 8 years ago. When I told them I need them to send something, they told me that I have to agree to make payment arrangements first but I refused. I think that they are afraid of me sending a cease and desist letter (in which I have plans to do considering this bill is 10years old.) I am not proud of it but It is way past the statute of limitations. It is not on my credit report

8:07 p.m. EST - Received call - spoke with "Crystal Bond" (x57022) very bitchy - alleged to be calling on behalf of "Care Credit"?? - told her I have never done business w/any company with that name - told her I wanted my phone number removed from their call list - she said she would NOT remove phone number from call list unless request was put in writing - asked to speak to supervisor - she said she doesn't have to let me speak to a supervisor - finally got someone names "Sean Garrett" - they looking for "David M. Coates" w/last for of ssn: 3690 - after telling Garrett that I was not "David M. Coates" and to remove my phone number from their database - he refused unless I told him Yes/No to last four. I told him NO that is NOT my last four. I asked if he would NOW remove my phone number from their call list - he refused and disconnected the call saying "We no longer have anything to discuss."
8:16 p.m. - I called PR - "Patricia" answered - I requested to speak with "Sean Garrett" - "Crystal Bond" came on line - I told her I was on hold for "Sean Garrett" - after approx 30 second wait, "Garrett" came on line - I asked him three times to confirm that my phone number will be removed from PR's call list and they will NOT call me again. He refused - he said he wanted to talk to a supervisor (how many they got?) - he came back on line and said "if you're not David M. Coates, last four of the social security number of 3690, then our company has nothing to discuss with you." - I asked him to confirm I will not get any more calls - he refused, but did say they will remove my phone number from their database (for now).

I ad the same issue with this company trying to collect a debt that was beyond the statute of limitations. I found a very inexpensive service that stop this problem in it's tracks. My email is saizu@comcast.net I now offer this service to others in similar situations.

for about two weeks they have been leaving messages - as described by everybody else - to call at "your earliest convenience", that they are debt collectors etc etc.. Thing is: I have no debts. No idea why they are bugging me! And yes, the message is barely audible and crackly.

Sunday at 12:12 pm the recorded call came...same one as every Sunday..the female voice telling to call the number..only problem is that it is said too quickly to get it...some times it comes through unavailable, some portfolio recovery on caller id. I would like to know how they got my unlisted phone number and associated it with wifes 36yearold dead beat son who has never lived here. If they think they are getting anything from him, stand in line. When a human has called they take the sons phone and address info , but still call us. My credit is AAA+  Im tired of the harrasement!!

Whoever it is has a free ticket to hell in my book.  I try to pay my bills on time and these late-types get paid but the slime-bag quality of workers over in processing help them to get poorly posted or not even posted, probably stolen, and companies like this re-create the debt - so I will just hook up a fax for the hose-bag losers to listen to...

This company uses several numbers & cell phones to call on, always threatening to ruin your credit.   I have perfect credit & a high number however my past husband ran up alot of bills he passed away in 1992, my atty advised me not to pay them & lay low till the statue of limitations ran out, well its way over the statue but somehow this company has risen to harrass me.
