On September 23rd, I just got a call at my job from DNI Recovery at 877-855-1624 saying they are going to garnish my wages. I told them I don't owe anything and do not call my job again. If they call me again, I will report them.

When I asked them to provide documentation to my e-mail, because I wanted to see proof, they could not, coming up with any excuse. They are a scam.

Here is the address they have provided:

    DNI Recovery

This company called our hospital regarding one of my clerks stating that if she did not call and clear up a loan that she had defaulted on that her drivers license would be suspended?? Is this legal?  I also think that it is against the law for them to tell the person's supervisor that they have defaulted on a loan.  I'm debating on whether or not I should even pass the message on to her.

It is a scam... they also have a Mr. Lock and Mr. Rivers (same guy btw -  who knows what his real name is....) these people are extortionists.  Tell your clerk not to send them one red cent.  They are a scam and cannot do ANYTHING to her, let alone suspend her license.

total SCAM... DO NOT give them any info... first call i recieved was about 2 months ago, calling me at work, telling me they had a wage garnishment, and that i needed to settle this matter as quickly as possible. He was of middle eastern decent, and kept trying to get me to verify my account info, and verify my social, and i kept asking for my signature, and he told me it was an online payday loan,so there were no signatures, and i said then show me a printout with my ip address on it, he then went with the "we bought this account from someone else". so i then asked who the someone else was, and he said it didnt matter, so i told him if he wanted paid, the only way i would do that was with verification, so he gave me a name... cash net... he still refused to gove a phone number, said he didnt have one... seriously? then today i recieved another call d & i recovery... suposedly they bought account from bahamas marketig, a payday loan company... original account was 750.00 but now i owe 2200.00 since i avoided paying it. and she said her name was ms ingram... said she had a wage garnishment in place starting tomorrow... i laughed at her, told her i may have been born at night, but not last night. 1st off, you had to have taken me to court to get a garnishment order, i also must be served before you can take my wages. and i have currently a payday loan out, and with my income and length at job, the only amount i qualify to borrow is 350.00 bucks if i do it online and 200.00 if i do it in person. and secondly i monitor my credit reports and know exactly who i owe, and i do not have any unpaid loans from time frame she gave 2007-2008, and further more, the account number she gave me wasnt even opened until 2009, so theres no damn way i got money deposited into it in 2007/2008... and that i was legally informing her that harassing phone calls at work is illegal, and i have no problem calling the cops! screw these people, they are lying [***] just trying to get your money and account numbers.... DO NOT help them by giving them free money!!!

Called numerious times and have even told other employees my business.  Say they have a summons or me or they are taking me to jail or garnishing my wages.  I've told them to send me whatever paperwork they have becasue I do not owe them anything.  They get angry and have hung up on me when I've told them Payday loans are illegal in Kentucky so I wouldn't have one.  I've told them to bring the summons on and they have hung up.

I'm a in house collector and a debtor myself (isn't that ironic) and most of you are being harassed, There are rule and regulations you have to follow.  It's against the Collections Law to leave any type of message like the one's they are leaving. Now understand if you have detailed voice recording with your name they can leave detailed vm but non-threatening. (if they do threaten to garnish your wages they better do it)  As far as leaving message with other people and your employers and employees they can not do that they are breaking the law the only thing they can do is ask to leave a msg (their name & number) anymore they are breaking the privacy acted.
Send complaints to the BBB, Attorney General they will look into it(I know first hand I have had many complaints and all have been dropped because I don't break the law) but again you need proof so if they are leaving msg's save them.  Read the law IL740 (wage assignment law)you as debtor have rights.  Understand I do this for a living some days I hate my job, but its a job and I would never treat my debtors like that it's against the law.  I give them the same respect they give me.
    Good Luck

    Sincerely,

A Mrs Parkins called me as well saying they were going to garnish 25% of my wages to repay a payday loan that I never took. She had the last 4 of my social and my home address but I threatened her and told her to send me the paperwork in the mail and I would see them in court. She got real nasty when I said my father works for the attorney general (just to scare them)..Im happy to see Im not the only one who received this bogus call. Im going to ignore it.

I received a voice message on my dad's answering machine stating that I owed on a payday loan and that they were going to immediately start garnishing my paychecks for 25% effective immediately. My father and I got on the phone with them, and they kept stating that they didn't have a phone number for the payday loan company and then we told them to fax us the information that they had and they said they have sent numerous letters to my dad's address, and well like i told them....that hasn't been my address in over 4 years they told me that they were going to process my information to the national hiring base and I informed that they joke was on them cause i don't work hahahaha, they said that my information would sit in the national data base if i ever tried to get a job then my information would sit there until they could garnish my wages I told them that this was a fraudlent accusation and I asked for a fax number to send off the fraudlent paperwork and they said they would finally put my account on hold and they said i would have to send them the paperwork through the mail....the address they gave me was 319 n. weber st. bole brook, il suite 153.....after my brother further researched the situation for me there are many cases right now regarding this type of fraud and anyone that encounters this situation needs to call 1-877-FTC-HELP....
