I keep getting calls from this company (DNI Recovery) but when I called the number back I got a voicemail which I thought was strange for a debt collecting company. They keep calling me and threatening me with wage garnishments. I have not received any judgement for this so call debt nor have I been to court.

    Leave me the hell alone!
I was told that if you refuse to pay the loan, they are recording the conversation  and can hold that againt you because its like you are admitting to the debt but refusing to pay. So when they call me I act as if I dont know what they are talking about (most of the time I dont) and tell them to send me a statement. They never do.

I received several phone calls from this number as well. First they called my brother and sister-in-law pretending that I owed them. So when I called the number back the lady said that her name was Investigator Davis out of Atlanta Georgia and if I didn’t pay $928.00 within 30 minutes I would be prosecuted for check fraud. I explain that I didn’t owe anyone and that I had taken care of that bill years ago. The date that she gave me 05/08 wasn’t even the date that I got the loan. This is a scam and yes they are payday Loan Company’s who sell your information after the status of limitation runs out. I went to my bank and pulled my record from o8-10 and got proof of me paying them. So I began calling them all day long, I informed the lady that I would see them in court. There are several number 1-877-690-0854 (Investigator David Miller), 1-404-935-9480 (Mrs. Angela Davis) and 1-877-855-164(DNI RECOVERY) which all are frauds. If there’s anyone with any information that might help myself or others please don’t hesitate to post. I myself refuse to be scared or pay something that I know has been taken care of already. So, I will take my chances in court and that’s what I told them.

I just received a call from a Melody Ingram at DNI Recovery claiming they were going to garnish my wages.  I already settled this debt with company my credit report had listed as the current holder of the debt back in October so if my wages are garnished I'm definitely going to court because I'm not paying twice for the same debt.

Received message at work that they were going to garnish my wages because they had a garnishment order.  Can they do that?

I just got a call from them as well, and I am glad I read your post, because I was not sure if they could garnish my wages like that, I have asked them for information and have never been provided with it, or proof of any sort.  They just keep on harrasing and calling my job, last time they called was Dec 15, 2010 and now it only took them 14 days to call me back.
These people have no proof to provide to anyone, if they have all your "info" why do you need to verify anything to them?

Get this, this phone 877-855-1624 a Mrs. John has been calling my work number leaving messages for a Christine about wage garnishment. Now I work for a HUGE healthcare organization and this is my personal private work number they are calling. They say well Christine said it is her number. I am like well it isn't. This is my private work number for a large org and when they call in order to leave a message they have to listen to my voicemail which says who I am and who I work for. Now, I do know something about debt and wage garnishment issues and I told her this. I said first of all you are never, ever in a million years as a debt collector if that is what you are to leave a recorded message on a work number because you are basically telling the entire organization that you are trying to collect a debt for Christine and now I have forwarded you recorded message to my large legal department because if Christine happens to work for our org I am sure she can now contact her attorney and sue you for spreading her personal information around the work place. Then I said Mrs. John the 2nd issue here is you can't garnish a persons wage unless you take them to court and get a judgement against them and then proceed down that path. So unless you and your attorneys have sent a summons to Christine then you are just making threats which is also illegal. I am so hoping however that she isn't trying to contact my step daughter. Her name is Christine but she says she doesn't owe anyone money and I have to believe her. Then I also pointed out that the phone number you are calling is a PA phone number in the state of PA if Christine lives there you can't garnish wages anyway. PA doesn't allow that unless it is for taxes, child support or spousal support. So, I said if I were you I would take my personal work number off your records because I am saving all messages you leave just incase this ends up being my step daughters issue and she is leaving them my number.

    Hello:

This is a scam plan and simple. The first had my attorney contact them, and they backed off for awhile. Well here it is January, 2011 and its starting again.

This time I am getting the police, and my attorney involved, and I will not back off until I get to the at least some of the scammers. This will end up in a Michigan court room, oh yes it will. They have used three different names when contacting me: EZell Williams, SouthWest Recovery, and the newest name is, drum roll please: DNI Recovery. They say I took out a payday loan that I never took.

I just listened to a message from a woman named Mrs. Stiles. She claims to be a wage and garnish manager for B & I recovery and she gave the return number as 877-855-1624.  What's worse is that she called and left the same message with my brother in another state. I have no idea what this could be as I pay all my bills and I did not get a pay day loan.  Only possibility is a mistake in a hospital bill 3 years ago.  I will wait to hear from her tomorrow. Some of the postings show that this is legitimate. Truth is that they cannot garnish wages without a judgement. I never was served with papers!  We shall see.

Haven't heard from them in about 6 months but here we go again with the phone calls. I've used so much bad language on them even my hair is standing at attention.

Yes someone of the name Ms Jon called me at my office on 01/5/2011 informing me that if  I didin't return her call their client had given them promission to garnish my wages immediatley. I was at home with Bronchitis and a upper respritory infection. I called them back and asked plenty of questions. I was told that they had made  numerous calls and sent letters in the mail. I was told I took a payday loan out in 2008 and didin't pay. I asked the clients name and to e-mail me  the contract. Couldn't get the clients name, but was told when the money was paid I would receive the contract. I then told her that this sounded like a scam. I also let her know that I would do some investigating myself. I'm glad I did. I found everthing on line this morning about this company being a fraud. I called them today and left a message telling them I'm prepared to take action if they debit any money from my account. I haven't gotten a call back .
