Continualy calling to solicit services in which I have no interest

They call me at twice a day, every day.  I want it to stop.

Moi aussi j'ai recu des appels de ce numero A TOUT les jours de depuis 2 semaines! Je n'ai jamais répondu car je n'avais pas confiance en ce numéro. J'ai finalement décidé de chercher sur internet pour voir d'ou ca pouvais venir et j'ai trouvé ce site! J'ai appelé au 1-800-361-6665 et en 2 minutes la dame m'a confirmé que je n'étais plus sur leur liste d'appel après lui avoir dit que je ne voulais pas de garantie prolongée sur mon aspirateur!! Enfin!!

Have gotten calls from this irritaing crew in the past but am now keeping a record. The latest ones: February 1 at 10:56 AM; February 2 at 11:21 AM; and the latest February 5 at 12:32 PM. I take care of my very ill parents; if one of them dies, I'm suing Sears.

Unbelievable!!  So glad I found this site.  Calls were coming in 2-3 times a day for the past month.  Either dead air or an accent so bad you could not understand it.  I don't believe one should have to turn off your phone just to avoid this type of harassment.

If this is Sears Canada, they just lost all my business. Times must be tough. Spammers spoofing their Caller ID? Not cool. Being on the National Do Not Call List, naturally we just reported this number to:

Calling once a day - three days in a row. They won't give up even though their number has been blocked on our phone. Reported to CRTC on Feb. 16th, 2011.

No worries? Huh? Of COURSE it's worrisome. It's ANNOYING. Buying a product from any company should NOT legally entitle them to harass private citizens in their homes with endless telemarketing calls - especially when their dumb system leaves you with dead air/silence when you do rush to answer their calls. Something does not have to be a scam or a rip-off to be annoying or uncivil.

Message to Sears (Canada): You are doing your brand value and reputation far more harm than good with these calls, and you are doing more to drive customers to other retail chains for their purchases with these calls than you can imagine. So just stop it, ok? Just stop. Before you phone yourselves right out of business. Given the costs of staffing and running a call centre and its associated (and highly faulty) phone system, you can't possibly be earning enough revenues to keep doing this indefinitely. Here's hoping that sometime, somewhere, somehow, a Sears Canada executive will actually take the time to look at sites like this to see how negatively their (highly faulty) telemarketing is perceived by their (defecting) customer base.

Interesting to read through pages of complaints dating back THREE (3!!!) calendar years (2008-) all with the same issues, with customers/call recipients being told Sears will look into it/fix it/investigate it/change it.

Three years.

Called their customer advocacy number as detailed above and got told the same thing... and we're now well into 2011. What gives?

they have called ever day several times a day for weeks they wont stop even after ive ask. I have never bought anything from sears, help

Called us 5 times now within 10 days even though their number is blocked. If this is truly Sears calling about warranty, I hope Sears is reading these reports because I won't ever buy another product from Sears as a result of this annoying telemarketing - that's the honest truth. Never again will I shop at Sears. The only company that comes close to being worse than Sears in terms of aggressive telemarketing like this is The Brick. They, too, lost all of our future business.

I've read countless hours of complaints from people that are being harassed by this phone # 877-889-2024. Everybody is condemning Sears for bad practice for information leaks. Well guess what. It's not Sears who is calling you. You are being tagged for identity theft. In two years you may be caught off guard by a phone call, and wham. They'll have everything they have collected on you until the day they steal everything you've got. You are a small investment in a bigger scheme. It's like advertising. Everytime someone complains about the phone number or sears, their campaign is working. #1:steel your info, #2:shift the blame to sears that has done nothing, #3:Categorize you to sell you protection. When the time comes and you haven't done anything to protect yourself from identy theft, than who you going to blame? I would be wondering what corporation is trying to besmeech the name of sears to the point of it collapsing. Walmart? Costco? Zellers? or a conglomeration of all the super stores that are trying to break this company. When you call sears to have your # removed from their list, they comply. By then, identity theft has your info even though you think the calls are stopping. Think about these things. Why is Sears being bashed? Who could gain from Sears losing their reputation? That is your guilty party.

Use the above instructions and ask to have your name taken off their calling list.

Thanks for the information. I was wondering who was calling.  I hate getting telemarketing calls.  Anyways thanks for sharing the information with all of us.  

An FYI: If you were on the do not call list in Canada you should report the illegal call to authorities.  Companies recently fined for telemarketing people on the Do not call list were fined hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some of the companies that were caught recently are Bell and Rogers.

Just recieved a call from this number.  When there was no response to my "Hello" after a couple of seconds I hung up.  Dialled it back and got Sears Canada.
