Received a blue unprofessional looking card from AVC with incorrect sequence of my name.  Glad I checked here.  Won't even waste my time.  Prefer to be dealt with directly and honestly - not be manipulated.

Got the same blue card but the # on mine is 1-800-327-4614.
I love the 72 Hour notice, like they have someone watching my house to see when I look at it in order to start my own personal timer with them. Now that I think about there has been a strange guy driving by every afternoon when I get the mail, wait, never mind, it's just my neighbor.

    Donna,
I WENT TO THE LOCATION, it was 45 min away from me. I get  there and realize there are hundreds of people holding the exact same letter and boarding pass. So I proceeded inside and they take your personal info name, employment, how much u makend, etc. at the time I was unemployed, so they immediately said I was disqualified and took me to.a separate room when I ask about THE so called prizes I was guaranteed to have won no purchase required so this lady took me in her office to SCRATCH OFF A BOGUS LOTTERY TICKET. AND SAID IF YOU GET SO MANY MONEY BAGS YOU WIN ONE A PRIZE THAT ONLY INCLUDED THE VACATION, NO CAR MONEYOR SHOPPING SPREE. .. I LEFT EMPTY HANDED I WANTED TO PUNCH HER IN HER FACE.

it looks like people that went to the presentation walked away with atleast the minimum they told they would, I think the people that complained about this resort ended up purchasing a time share unwittingly, I have an appointment for Sunday and do plan on attending, if I walk out with a trip to Vegas and $500 cash for 90 minutes of my time on a Sunday then I am making out, if I go there and get nothing then yes I will come back and admit that I got scammed and I am gullible ,
Either way I will let you all know what happened so some questions will finally get answered from people who just want to know if the prizes are legitimate.
I know I do not intend on buying anything, I am in sales now so if anything I will try and sell them something.

My story is a little different from the other ones here. I filled out a raffle ticket at my local mall a couple months ago, and didn't win. However, I was entered into a secondary drawing for Silverleaf Resorts. I didn't get any response for about four months, until I got a call from the 800 number in question. They asked me to stay for a 90 minute seminar (sales pitch), but if I did, I would also be given a cruise on top of the scratch ticket (which is what the guaranteed prize is based around). Additionally, they offered me a $40 gift card for coming by on a week day; and since my grandmother lives very near the resort they directed me to, I knew in my case it wouldn't be a sketchy office complex or travel agency. I can't speak for anyone else in that regard.

My experience at the resort was about what you would expect. About 15 other 'prize winners' with a sales person for each group, and a tour of the facility to show off the accommodations. The 'seminar' lasted just over 2 hours, and the tour was another 45 minutes. When I declined the offer of the first salesman, one of the managers was sent over and gave me a Very aggressive sell. They had one of those, "we will do whatever it takes to make a deal, right here today" attitudes. However, after I refused a final time the relented and sent me over to the prize redemption office. The odds of winning the grand prize are 1:25000 according to the fine print of the confirmation email, but you are guaranteed one of the lesser prizes. I ended up getting the week long vacation package, but it's entirely the luck of the draw.

I haven't been on any of the trips yet, so I can't vouch for their quality. However, their angle is legitimate, and if you can put up with some aggressive salesmen, it'll probably be worth the effort.

They told me the same thing. Scratch to find your prize. 49,000, BMW, vacation or 500. The thing is they told me I can go and just pick up the prize. They said I could go tot he timeshare seminar but it was not a requirement. They said if I go I would get an extra vacation on top of the grand prize. How do you think they would scam without forcing you to the seminar? I made them verify that I would not have to do to any time share crap.
