- John Doe| 1 replyI've gotten 10 calls in the last 5 days, I'm on the do not call list BUT its not App to theses Co's (BE NICE) The only way to get read of them is to tell them you made a donation and to plesase remove you from the list
- Caller: Epilepsy Foundation
- Call type: Telemarketer
- John T replies to John DoeTheir web site is www.donatenewengland.org, should you wish to drop them a line.
These organizations are exempt from the "Do Not Call List" requirements (so are politicians conveniently, lol).
A volunteer is usually at the other end of the line, and is just doing what is expected of him/her, that is to become annoying, until he/she hopefully gets some response.
From polite to understanding, I have learned to just become as rude as they are annoying if I accidentally pick-up: I just hang-up (lol). - Dex GI spoke with 888-322-8208 about their security system but decided against purchasing, but they charged me $ 100.00 for the conversation. The Company has refunded my $ 100.00 that was charged on my C/C
Thanks VIVINT.- Caller: VIVINT Security
- TrudyThese people constantly call and hang up without leaving a message.
- pjpFirst call from these guys was March 2012. Blocked the number Sep 2012. As of Jan 2013, they are still calling up to five times a day! Sent emails requesting they stop to the national email ContactUs@efa.org, and Mass email Questions@donatenewengland.org.
- Caller: Epilepsy Foundation
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Bruce_in_maTheir company name is: Not-Available
So if this is a true charity phone call, why do they hide there name.
Charity phone calls can go through even if you are on Do-Not-Call list.
Problem with them is, they keep calling every day over and over, and do not stop.
They do seem to have a web site www.donatenewengland.org and is listed as Epilepsy Foundation New England Donation Center. So probably National Do Not Call Registryskip navigation Complaint is not going to help (because they are allowed to do this).- Caller: Not-Available
- AlHave celled every day for over a month. Call is blocked so they never get through.
- DBKJust got a call from this one at 3:50pm 2/17. They disconnected before my machine picked up.
- Caller: "800 Service"
- LJ replies to RobertThe do not call registry does not work! It is bogus! It's just something to appease people. I started blocking calls on my phone in September, I currently have 30 blocked and a list of 30 more. Unfortunately the "call intercept" only allows a certain amount.
- Had Enough?Called February 19th. They hung up just as my answering machine picked up.
Blocked their call, the most I'll get from now on is a single ring to indicate the next attempt. Their auto-dialing computer may eventually give up.
Every month or so, I delete the Blocked Calls and start again. That takes care of the telemarketers who change their numbers frequently.- Caller: Not Available
- DGThey keep calling and still I will not answer the phone. Caller ID is great. When will they get a clue!!!
- Caller: Epilepsy Foundation
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- DebraI get calls from this number several times a day. I never pick up and they do not leave a message.
This is very annoying and want it to stop. - KevinBeen getting spammed by this number 3 days in a row, despite my call blocker sending a "number disconnected" SIT.
The number shows up on caller ID but the name comes up "out of area". Aren't they required by law to ID themselves? Needless to say, they're blocked, and have been since November when they started spamming us. 13 calls so far. Every one blocked. Will they ever get the hint?- Caller: Out of Area
- Mel| 1 replyIt is true that charities are exempt, HOWEVER, if we tell the charity that we are not interested and for them to remove our number from their calling list, they are held by law to remove it. Instead the butt wipes just hang up before I can get my whole sentence out!! I have blocked the majority of these numbers but they come up with new numbers every day!!
- Caller: Epilepsy
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- ken replies to MelYes Mel, legitimate charities ARE EXEMPT under the DNC. Under the DNC/FTC site, under frequently asked Q&As, it addresses this issue. If it is the actual charity itself that is calling, you can ask them to stop, they don't really have to unless you send them a letter requesting a cease and desist. Now when I say that they don't have to, it is simply because they are exempt under the dnc laws and the normal rules do not apply to them. Therefore a cease and desist would be needed to push any point. Most charities will in fact stop calling you on your request and be very courteous when you ask. Now, if it is a 3rd party telemarketer who is calling on behalf of the charity, they are NOT EXEMPT and they are required under the DNC/FTC to cease upon your request. That doesn't mean that they will, simply because you can't prove that you requested them to stop. Some will stop...some will not. Scammers will be rude and do whatever they please. Go to the DNC site and read the Frequently asked Q&As and read about it. In fact, read all of the pages. It will provide you with an abundance of information on how it operates, and what it does and does not do. The DNC is a total mystery to most people. When you read the pages of 800notes, you will find that most complaints are not actually valid. Not blaming the people for complaining, just that most haven't had to deal with these harassing callers before...and therefore have had no reason to spend time on the DNC site.
- TonyThis number calls all the time i've blocked the number but they still get thru i don't know how they do it . It drives me crazy how they can get away with this. To me they are breaking the law and whoever the caller is just does not care.
- Gigi replies to L.Ann Brock| 1 reply***UNFORTUNATELY--- CHARITIES, POLITICIANS, AND TELEPHONE SURVEYS ARE EXEMPT. SEE BELOW***

- Bruce_in_MAThey still keep calling at least my number, even though there is no entries for the last many weeks.
And they call constantly both today and yesterday and about 3 to 6 times a month every month.- Caller: Unavailable
