D&A is a collection agency who work with different businesses to collect money from creditors on their behalf.

Lady named Denisha called this afternoon for my younger sister. Said it was private... she is 16 so not legal yet. extension 6201. Said it was urgent and she had to call back by 4 pm. i explained she was a student in highschool and that she was not home during the day. she asked for an alternate number, i said SHE IS IN SCHOOL! SO NO SHE IS NOT HERE!!!! she said it was urgent and she had to call ASAP. I looked up the company... then the phone number on google. and this came up... ill pass along the message but from what i gather here this is nonsense!!!!!!

A woman (Janista/Megan) left me a message at 3:06pm this afternoon (Wednesday November 18, 2009). She asked me to call back to discuss an urgent matter. I called her back at the toll free number she had provided in the message:888-395-1147 ext 6260). They have wierd phone message system... a lot of options but almost every key takes you back to the main menu... No wonder its all BS.

These people have been calling me and sending me letters to settle my cancelled account with Bell Mobility for quiet some time.
So finally, i gathered up the courage to call after reading a few posts on this site, the # that was on the official letter of settlement with extension # 6886.
The gentleman that answered was really nice. Polite and to the point. ( i was afraid he was going to be nasty to me and bite my head off)
He even extended the expiration date of the offer, allowing me to fully pay off my debt and not be broke at the same time.
I cant wait to pay it off.
Im pleased with the outcome...i have to admit i was very scared.

I received a couple of calls left on my voice advising this was an urgent message for someone else that does not even live here.
They stated that they were from DNA Corporation and that the person they were looking for was to return there call as it was urgent.  The second time they called and left a message I called them back and advised them that the person they were calling for does not live at this phone number and to remove my phone number from there calling information.

I have received two calls from this company looking for a Diane Same Last Name.  I tell them they have the wrong number and the caller tells me no, that I'm Diane.  I ask him what its about but he says he can't tell me since he can't verify if I'm Diane.  I tell him that's because I'm NOT Diane.  His reply is yes you are.  Has told me on two occasions that he's going to act legally against me.  One of those is to have me served.  I wonder how choked the process server is going to be when he comes knocking to find out there is no Diane...

If these calls are attempts at intimidation I have to say I came away more confused than anything.

How they manage to stay in business I will never know... hopefully people aren't falling for this crap.

I got voice msg from above number ex 6275 and person name Jamal Smith. When I call him back and ask him why did he called and what this D & N comapny does, he just hang up. When I call him again he is not picking up.

I have no idea what kind of company is this?

Suggest If you speak to anyone that calls you...from this number or any other, remember to ask if the conversation is being "recorded".  There is a privacy issue if you are recorded without your consent. If so, suggest you say "unacceptable" and have a good day...END call immediately, be polite but hang up! Also, you need to take control of any conversations from organizations like this...vs them and their tactics I have read about (abbrasive, demanding, rude, threatening etc).  You are not obligated to answer any of their questions, give them any info...don't let them intimidate you or try to scare you!   Be firm, take control, don't allow anyone to treat you disrespectfully BUT act appropriately yourself (don't ditto any poor behavior they are demonstrating).  Just politely say your not prepared to tolerate  their tone, disrespect or whatever and wish them a good day...hang up!

What started out last summer as a random call lookin for someone who didn't live here turned into daily and sometimes multiple daily harassment.  This Jaffer( if that is the coward's real name)axxhole cusses at my disabled girlfriend and calls her a liar.  He said the only way he will stop calling is if she tracks down the person he is looking for and turns them in.  What b.s. is that.  Today I got to the end of my rope.  I phoned his answering machine, 1888 395 1147 x6252 and told him I know now his address at 131 Brunell Rd., Mississauga and I will come down there and kick the ever living s__t out of him.  My hope is that this threat will get the police into action, whom I have already called, for this constant harassment.  He said that our address is the address the person he wants gave.  I told him you stupid s.o.b. I could give you Brittany Spears address but I don't live there.  Does D & A Collection Corporation have some hire the [***] program.  I am in the process of contacting the RCMP for his threats.  and www.recol.ca for fraud by bribery, (telling us to do his job or he will keep harassing us).  I will tell you it is a terrible feeling to see your lady friend in chronic physical pain and then come home to see her distraught over some less than human cruel vial [***] who's own mother probably gave him up for adoption.

Well sorry, 'sorrynotdiane'  that is the way it started for us. No person lives here with the name hey told us back in the summer, it has now escalated to sometimes 3-4 calls a day.  Read my submission.  I hope they believe you because my disabled girl friend has, according to Jaffer at D&A, gone from the person not living here to a '...lying [***] and the only way out of this is if you are not her than find her and give me the address or I will harass you forever.'  And the police drag their feet...

D & A are Dumb [***] they just threw in the "&" to confuse you. They are vial, rude and just call people randomly trying to extort money with threats.  I am trying to work with the police on this one.  I am sorry but your post seems to attempt to legitimize them and their gestapo tactics.   Do you work for them shawn?

bogus matt, another trip down the imaginarium of mr. parnassuss, lol.  A little critical humor.  They have been calling us for over 6 months for someone who has never lived here for as long as I have anyway.  Told them to stop calling.  They said we now the person and we are lying [***] and he will not stop calling until "WE" track this person down and forward him, Jaffer, the information.  SO WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO ALL YOU POSTS THAT THINK WE HAVE RIGHTS AND PRIVACY, KISS MY GRITS.  I cant get the telephone company to stop them, the police are giving me a run around, read my post on page 6.  This is a friggin nightmare.  In the end I will probably lose time off work to take these [***] to court, pay money trying to file an injunction or restraining order.  Oh, I have no fear of filing a civil suit against me, I owe no outstanding debts and make multiple times more money than these morons harassing us...HMMMM maybe that is it, they have accessed my private finances and are trying to extort money????

OMG Mad-T I can only hope.  We have begged, pleaded, threatened called the police www.recol.ca , told them not to call, person has not lived here for at least 8 years, that is how long I have been here.  So I dont know prior to that.  This Jaffer A  hole is just relentless and my girl friend is disabled in chronic pain and she has to take this abuse. I come home many times and she is crying, distraught and weathered from this uncaring rude s.o.b Not even human in my eyes.  I will check this site out hopefully to end this nightmare.  God is this not some form of stalking?

If you receive calls from any Collection Agency in Canada you need to know your rights.  Received some voicemails with no particulars on who the company was, details on why they were calling...just a number to call back, sounded like DNA (I believe it is D & A as it is the number above), some reference number etc.

Found this particular site and it was informative and helpful.  Obvious from the posts that this company (and probably other collection agencies) are searching for people, calling incorrect numbers, harrassing people etc.  Even if they have the right number/person, hopefully they realize that most people do want to pay their bills but sometimes unfortunate and unplanned circumstances happen...this doesn't mean they are bad people or should not be treated with respect.

Know your rights.  Take Control and do not allow any collection agency to treat you disrespectfully, bully you into providing private/personal information etc.  Be Firm and in Control, calm and above all no matter how the person on the other end is treating you (sarcastic, disrespectful, rude etc)...remain respectful to them.  If they are not respecting you etc just politely comment that you will not tolerate their tone etc and wish them a good day...hang up!

Certainly worth a read and finding out your rights.  Agree with the attached post...should not tolerate their poor behaviors.  Even if you do have debt you should be respected.  Take Control!

If someone is harrassing you, perhaps send a letter instructing them not to call again (register it). Ensure you have proof that you have contacted them a few times instructing them not to call.  If you can, record the call so if they are being rude, disrespectful etc you have proof! If it continues there are companies you can report them to and perhaps you should take legal action against both the company and the agent...suggest consult a lawyer.
